I have been a customer of Keypoint Credit Union since before they were Keypoint :). I use them for both personal and business banking, and car loans. Their mobile app has better features than much bigger banks (I'm looking at you, Union Bank). All of the people in the local branch are beyond friendly. Most know my entire family on sight. The managers have gone above and beyond when we needed banking services in another state. I just had a great interaction with someone from their online help desk, so even the corporate employees provide excellent customer service. I can (and have) recommended KPCU to my dearest family members. read more

I drive the 20 miles to this credit union because Carolina and the managers are so friendly and helpful. I would give them 5 stars but... even though they advertise the community support the give their Silicon Valley locations, I never see evidence of any local community support. Other Banks and savings and loans put money back into the local Santa Barbara/Goleta community. read more

I have banked with these folks since 1983 when they were AEA Credit Union and they used to be wonderful. When we went to live in Europe for a year in 1993 they took care of paying our monthly bills for us and were genuinely excited for us. But these days they are less excited about serving their customers. They are the lone remote outpost of a Silicon Valley company, and the business model of KeyPoint is like any other bank: Try to extract as many fees as you can. I still have accounts there, but my main bank is now Community West in Old Town Goleta, where they greet me by name when I walk in. read more

I have never had a problem with this bank. The staff are kind, efficient and intelligent. There are rarely ever lines. As my Credit Union is only a affiliate, problems and delays would be expected, but not here. There are delays with ATM depositing. All in all, I recommend all to stop on by and give this place a try! read more

Our bank is Coasthills Credit Union in Lompoc. Where we used to reside. Keypoint is a satellite branch, in Goleta, where recently moved. For the record the customer service has to date been awesome up until today. Historically if we needed quick cash from our coasthills credit card. We would go into Coasthills and draw it out. It turns out that Keypoint has a limit of $500.00 which is fine most of the time but with my mother's passing in November we have had to make a trip and take time from work. This dipped into our bank account so we wanted to use our credit line to offset costs and pay bills. I got a cashiers check for $1,100. Something they were happy to charge for and I was happy to pay for. Upon receipt of said check, I glanced back to make sure no one was behind me waiting. There was no one, the bank was virtually empty. So I signed the back of the check and handed it to the cashier behind the counter for cashing. We had done this before on two occasions. But this time she informed me that her supervisor told her she was not allowed to cash the checks like this anymore. So I asked that the supervisor come and bring with her that policy. The lady called her supervisor and told her my exact words. After the call she said that the supervisor told her she could do it this one time only. I said thank you, and while she counted out the money I wrote down my email and passed it to her, requesting that her supervisor still needs to send me a written policy against cashing a prepaid cashiers check issued by the same exact bank. I thanked her again and left with my cash. But also feeling a little manipulated and belittled. I felt bad for the cashier too. This one experience has really soured my feelings of dealing with Keypoint. Maybe in part it is the grief and anger around my personal loss, but having been in the position of customer service director I can say that any business should consider honesty and being genuine to the public. This is the long and steady victory to quality business. Supplemental: So the reply by Kathy tells me that- 1. She did not fully read the complaint and just posted the policy i already stated which was not the complaint. Which is frustrating because if she did not care enough to read it... or 2. She deliberately redirected the complaint in an effort to purposefully confuse the actual issue for the reader. Which was "the cashing of the cashiers check. read more

I've been banking with Keypoint CU in Goleta for the past 8 years and have always had a great experience. Most recently, I had the pleasure of working with Ana on a car loan. In just 10 minutes at the counter, I told her what I needed and she was able to email me my pre-approval letter. We then finished the loan with a phone call and docusign for digital signatures over email which was most convenient for me. She was prompt, thorough and courteous. It couldn't have been easier. Applied online for a small $5,000 auto loan. (God forbid we actually get human to human contact and can go into the branch...) My loan application was accepted. I was thrilled. However it was then rejected once they got my paystub. I told them I had factored financial aid into my monthly income and then they had me submit paperwork for that. Once it was submitted - Oh actually we don't use financial aid as income. (Shouldn't you have known that before making me go through all this? No..) "Get a co-applicant" They said. So I did - my fiance's stepfather. The woman Melissa couldn't figure out how to access the co-applicant application online since apparently she doesn't know her own job description. Told her everything over the phone. Calls me back two days later (after countlessly not answering her phone and failing to return mine) she says they never ran the credit check as you can't use someone unrelated to you. (Idiot - I told you from the beginning my relation to the man was. Why make me go through all this s***). Can't stand the level of impersonalization and lack of job knowledge. You should know your own god damn criterion before you accept then reject then accept then reject me again. Will never recommend or go back to them. Terrible customer service. read more

KeyPoint has great rates on home loans and a very nice selection of options. We just re-financed our home with them and put a new HELOC in place. The process was quick and efficient.
