The interior of Grunts dates back to the 1800's. It is filled with lots of old time memorabilia including a jukebox and coca cola machine. You have to get coins from the bartender to operate the coke machine. (Very old school). When we were deciding on what to eat the waiter made some recommendations. When I showed interest in the Lobster Mac and Cheese he informed me they can also make it an entree size even though it is not listed on the menu. I was sold. We accompanied it with the Fish Taco appetizer. Perfect amount of food for the both of us. The Fish Tacos were not Mahi Mahi but a local fish called Basa. It is a very mild fish which is perfect in the taco. It is served with avocado, spicy chipotle and a mango papaya chutney. The Lobster Mac and cheese was a food org--m. With large chunks of spiny lobster, white Truffle oil. It is topped with Panko breadcrumbs and baked to perfection with a nice crust on top. Both items were so filling no dessert was necessary. The waiter kept coming back to take our plates and I was still using the bread to sop up the cheesy goodness. Grunts is a cannot miss if in the Key West area.
