I recall walking through the Key West Wildlife Center for the first time around 2010 and instantly…read moreappreciating the sights. The paths through the various parts of this small/intimate park; loving all the flora and fauna. At the time, I didn't much think of their overall mission of taking care of and rehabilitating injured animals... I mean, I have noticed the donation boxes and various pamphlets but never took the time. One day, alone in the park about 10 years ago, I had a nice conversation with a staff member (maybe a volunteer) and she explained all the good things they do and their future goals (to replace some of their decaying facilities). I really love the pond loaded with turtles and as much as I like aviaries, I find it difficult to appreciate the ones here because it's hard to see and appreciate the birds. RECENTLY, I stopped by to walk the park but it was closed... I was pleasantly surprised to see they were closed because they are finally constructing their new building (replacing the old, run down old one). The new one will provide a much improved and cleaner environment for the clinic and improvements to the aviaries.

A must see while in Key West!…read more It's quiet, serene, beautiful place to just sit among lush garden and watch the sea. So many amazing views and benches available to sit and just relax. It's free, but they do request a donation that is voluntary! There was a kind woman sitting at the desk who gave us a map, and explained their history briefly. It's a beautiful place to stop in and visit, with their butterfly garden and orchid arbor stealing the show. Bathrooms were very clean as well.

I called today (day of the appointment) and was…read moretold that it was cancelled and there was a note on my file saying not to make me an appointment because I was discharged as a patient. I asked why. She said idk and then refused to help me further stating that there was no one else I could talk to about it and that's it. I wasn't going for a check up. I have an issue that probably needs medication. So this was really disappointing. I made this appointment because my usual Obgyn couldn't see me until the middle of August this year.

We did the "diy" tent, they hand you one and you set it up. They have propane grills and provide bbq materials and you cook and clean yourself. Cheeseburgers in paradise, beans, mac and cheese in a box. Decent. Sunset is killer.

So much fun. Can't wait to go back. Bathrooms and showers were clean. Fun for the whole family.read more
