Left to right, Me, spice, Captain Brad and sugar.

My wife and I just completed our ASA 101, 103 and 104 classes with Captain Brad at the Southernmost Sailing School. It was the trip of a life time that had been postponed 3 times due to Covid. Our scheduled flight was delayed and we were starting to get the idea that the trip might not happen. Even with our delay the Captain was there to show us around and get us settled in on the first day on the Last Call. While the accommodations aboard the boat were tight, especially if you have not experienced live aboard a sailboat, it was well worth it to be on the water to watch the fantastic sunrise and sunsets. The marina store has many basic needs and many delivery options nearby for food. The first day of lessons were wonderful and Cap walks you through everything in the book and on the water. My wife was very nervous and felt she could not do it but after the first day and the Captain's incredible teaching style she was extremely comfortable and eventually managed to pass all her classes with flying colors. I loved taking all three courses back to back as you essentially cemented everything you learned to get you comfortable sailing a larger vessel. The 101 class got you used to all the sailing lingo, followed by the 103 where you became more comfortable with the boat and navigation. The 104 took us on a larger vessel and made us very confident that we could actually run the vessel on our own. The last day of sailing we had set out to beautiful Boca Grande Key but as we headed out toward our destination the weather turned and we settled in to anchor in a nice sheltered bay after practicing our sailing in some hefty winds. Cap cooked up some great mahi mahi with red beans and rice and we spent the evening chatting and learning a new dice game of Crapout. This was a great adventure and learning experience as Captain Brad made sure that safety is the most important part of sailing. It was the experience of a lifetime and I felt after all was done that I had made a great friend and confidant in Captain Brad. We are already scheduling our next adventure and will consult the Captain for guidance. Thank you Cap for everything and making a dream trip come true.

Our family took the ASA 101 Basic Keelboat Certification class in March 2016. There were 6 of us ranging in age from teens through 50's. We had a wonderful time and learned a lot. Our pre-class sailing experience ranged from some-to-none. The coursebook was mailed to us ahead of time. It helped greatly to read through the book and answer the chapter test questions ahead of time. The class was two days. Part of the mornings were spent in class (on the boat), the vast majority of the day was on the water. We split up into 2 groups, working two boats with a captain on each vessel. Capt. Brad was excellent. Especially calm and reassuring to those of us who had never been sailing before and were unsure of themselves. We all passed the certification exam and had a great time. Highly recommended. Would be great for couples and families with teens and above.

The served drinks promptly and expeditiously upon boarding the sailboat. The band was lively and sounded great. We stayed on the top level of the boat and the crew walked around and refilled drinks which was so nice. We didn't have to walked down to the bar and could just enjoy the weather, the sailing and the view! Kudos to Captain Willie and his entire crew for being such a delightful group. They deserved all the tips!

Ticket guy Mark assured us pool noodles would help and water is calm and expert swimming is not required. Boat ride with Todd and Anne started fine, but snorkel time? Disaster. Anne acted like she was dragged off the street, no manners, just snide remarks, eye-rolls, and forehead smacks at a fellow tourist fumbling with their wetsuit. No help getting in the wavy water; instead, she snaps at my struggling wife: "Why do people who can't snorkel even try?" (I'd love to see her skydive after 10 mins of instructions!) Todd was meh, nice enough but obsessed with tips, yapping about it nonstop. Snorkeling itself was great, but these two don't belong in service. Avoid!
