It wouldn't close, just would go down about 8"--once about halfway, then back up, like there was an obstruction, but there wasn't. It was installed by Action Garage Door, so I gave them a call. The woman that answered had me go through some trouble shooting, and showed me how to bypass the sensors and close the door by holding the button down. It was determined that we needed a technician to come out, and the earliest appointment was in two days. Fair enough. I was given a four hour window, from 12-4 pm. At 11:35, Cody called me up and asked if he could come over, that he was 10 minutes away. I said heck yeah! That was nice, him coming before the four-hour window even started. Cody was a nice young man who got right to work diagnosing the problem. Turned out it was a faulty wire. Surprising, for a two-year-old house that was new when we bought it and only lived in for a little over a year. Cody couldn't tell me what might have caused the problem, but he offered me a fix--external wiring to bypass the problem wire to the two door sensors. He made it look clean and hardly noticeable. He also lubricated our door rollers. My wife and I are back in business. The cost was very reasonble considering that he was at our home for 90 minutes. Two experiences now with Action Garage door and we've been pleased both times. We will continue to utilize them for all our garage door needs.
