Hands down the best fish dinners around. All you can eat Wednesday and Friday haddock prepared in four styles. I prefer to get half portions and make my way through all of them. Even the half portions are larger thank you think, so go hungry! My favorite is the baked Italian, which is topped with sauce, onions, and cheese. My second choice is the deep fried and a delicious cup of tarter sauce that goes with it. The Mac & cheese is very creamy, not runny at all. This will stick to your rib cage for a while. I am not normally a fan of stewed tomatoes, but I can't get enough of these. I mentioned to the server they were my favorite and she brought me a bowl on the side. Thank you!! It does get busy during the fish special nights, so go early. There is a lot of decor to keep you entertained if you have to wait for a table, true both both the kids and adults. Long road trip pit stop just off I-80 found this cozy cabin posing as a seafood shack in western PA. We lucked out and landed on Friday for their all you can eat ("refills" available on fish and sides) Friday fish fry, available all year long and Wednesdays. Terrific price, tasty everything (we had beer battered and Italian fish (haddock only option) plus Mac n cheese, salad, an avalanche of waffle fries, and stewed tomatoes (with Italian baked fish (really). Topped it off with a $3.99 slab of coconut cream pie. Plenty of other options too. read more

Thanks to other Yelp reviews leading me to this traditional American diner. This place deserves good reviews. You would think a small diner that has no other restaurant nearby can't be good because no competition. Not this diner. The coleslaw was delicious and refreshing. The cabbage was completed drained before putting the mayo so the flavor was rich, cabbage texture was crunchy and no liquid leftover after the dish was finished. Back of my mind I was happy whoever made this coleslaw knew the art of "wait for it!" We had a bowl of mushrooms cream with bacon soup and it was very thick and yummy. Main course we had cheese steak burger, the melted cheese with tomato and fried onion was very tasty, and we ordered sweet potato fries. They are wonderful combination for satisfaction guarantee! This place could have major potential but simply doesn't put it together. The food is mediocre at best. Rather than freshly made meals, you get processed frozen and heated up Sysco stuff. When in a group of 4 or more, meals come out piecemeal and not all together. The wait staff is the best part of the restaurant. Great crew. Our neighbor was raving about this fantastic fish dinner he had at Key Largo so my husband and I drove an hour to give it a try. We arrived at 4 pm on a Friday to beat the dinner rush. The baked fish and parsley potatoes were tepid at best and looked like they were left from the lunch service. The tartar sauce was warmer than the fish. The only thing that was hot was the stewed tomatoes which were delicious. None of the food was over salted which was wonderful. Then there was the price! The online menu listed the all you can eat fish dinner at $12.99. The menu priced it at $16.99. We were charged $17.99. In addition the two fish dinner options were Fish dinner with refills and Half Fish dinner with no refills. Guess which one we got charged for even tho we didn't get any refills. Surprise! Apparently the half fish dinner is a child size 2x3 inches! Not worth the hour drive. read more

Only minutes from I-80 (Exit 133) just south on Rt 53, in an old log structure with lots of character. It can get packed on Fridays, and it's a local favorite. Nice people, honest fare at great prices. Great fish fry on Fridays and Wednesdays. All you can eat for 10 bucks. Haddock, beer battered, deep fried, baked or Italian style, our group tried them all and everyone was very happy. Delicious! But you must save room for dessert. Heavenly pies. Coconut cream! And "meltaway" chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting. We bought more to take home to share. You'll thank me later. read more

Traveling, wife and I saw this restaurant on yelp as we approached area. Decided to stop and try it for lunch. It is in the middle of nowhere and was not busy at all at noon on a Thursday. I tried the aal you can eat liver and onions and wife had burger and fries. I have gluten allergy but they said they dont flour the liver before frying and that they could fry in separate pan. Couldnt believe it! Best liver and onions i have ever eaten in a restaurant! My wife said burger was very good. Cole slaw was creamy and delicious and sweet potato fries were also good as well. All in all i highly recommend this restaurant. Prices very reasonable as well. You wont be disappointed if you stop as you go by this little gem. read more

Truly a 5-Star homestyle diner. If you are on a road trip, DO NOT stop for boring fast food, treat yourself and go here. The building is like a charming cabin with a nautical feel. I ordered a Mushroom Swiss burger with Buffalo Cottage fries. The fries were piping hot, medallion shaped, and slightly spicy --probably amongst the top 10 best fries I've ever had. As for the burger, it was held together by creamy swiss cheese, and the veggies were kept cold and crisp on the other bun with a toothpick. This is a perfect example of a Hometown Treasure. It has been serving great tasting food at great prices consistently for 25+ years. They have daily all you can eat specials, in addition to breakfast and huge dinners. Tonight, I had the roast beef dinner, with home made Mac & Cheese and Mashed Potatoes and gravy. It was HUGE! The roast beef was easily almost an inch thick, and cut with a fork. This beats any Denny's/Perkins/IHOP type dinner platter. The desserts are the perfect ending to the great meal you just ate. Serious honest to goodness home made pies, with crusts so buttery and flakey, you'd think they were from your grandmothers oven. It's just a 2 mile detour of I-80, and if you are driving by, well worth the time. read more

Bummer. We thought we would take a chance on a 4 star rated off road diner. Breakfast was a bust! Cheese omelette flat and deflated. Kraft slices at best. "Maybe" 2 eggs over whisked or too much water. Toast soggy. Hash browns not browned. Eggs in a nest meant 2 eggs placed on top of the greasy and "not brown" hash browns. Asked for eggs over medium which were perfect. Must have been by luck. Either way... my 1 star for over medium eggs. Toast soggy. Coffee, blah. Asked the cashier on the way out if that was a typical breakfast omelette... wafer thin. Her reply was, honesty I don't know... I don't eat here. Seriously, we'd all benefit from establishment owners, staff and especially cooks forced to hear a ding and listen to a real time review on a headset. We were a minivan full of kids, traveling across I-80 in the middle of Pa., not much around when we took a chance off a Yelp review for Key Largo. Four hungry kids that had been trapped in a car for far too long plus cranky parents looking for comfort food. We definitely found it at Key Largo- when we pulled up, my wife wanted me to recon the place to see if it was kid friendly (wasn't sure if it was a bar when we pulled up, it was dark outside) which it definitely was with coloring books and crayons and fish on the log cabin style walls for them to look at - so far so good. The staff was great; it felt like you had some cousins who lived close to the highway and you stopped at their house for a quick bite to break up a long road trip. Food tasted good, my wife had meatloaf, I had a hamburger steak, the kids had small hamburgers. (Fish was only available twice a week, and Saturday nights are not one of those nights). Kids burgers were a little small for the older kids (10 yr old) but good for the 2-5 year olds; adult portions met expectations. Bottom line: great place to stop for a meal with or without a family, nice people, good comfort food at a very reasonable price- thanks Barry and staff. read more

While on a road trip with my boyfriend and 2 kids we stopped at this quaint restaurant. The decor was adorable and great fodder for an eye spy game. That's where the good meal ended. The roast beef sandwich consisted of over cooked, dry meat, between 2 pieces of wonder bread covered in jarred gravy. The spaghetti and meatballs tasted as though it'd been cooked hours ago and the sauce also tasted jarred. The burger was tolerable as was the corn dog.
