One of the young women working there noticed that I was having trouble and she and another woman working there caught me as I fell, preventing me from hitting my head. When I came to, they were cushioning my head, the security guard had called the EMTs and they had some cold water ready in case I needed it. They were very professional and kind. I am mostly recovered now and I am sure that their attention kept me from injuring myself. I will be forever grateful to them.

Visiting from out of town, I happened upon the store because I needed to make change for the bus…read more When I entered the store there was a cashier, a man behind a desk area and a woman standing by the front door who asked if I needed help. I told her that all I really needed was to make change. She said "we don't have that" rather dismissively. I was floored. I looked around at this massive store, the cash register's, the staff the millions worth of inventory and I said "really, with all this? And she said " really, with all this". I left the store with no change. The bus didn't make change. The driver let me on for free. There is a total wine in the town where I live, but I don't think I'll be going back there.

However, they're also wonderful because they put on a wine tasting featuring several regions of wine makers in France and not only was it informative, it was fun! They have a wine machine that has about four to five whites, and eight to ten reds available in 1 oz., 2 oz., or 4 oz. pours. All you do is purchase a card for $3 or if you put $20 on the card the fee is waived. That's the way to go!!! Once you have your card, you put it in, grab a readily available glass and pick your desired wine. Prices are definitely reasonable, in fact are on the cheaper end compared to other wine machines I've tried. They range from $0.70-1.80 for the 1.0 oz sample. You can't beat sampling wine while shopping. Staff is informative and helpful. Comfy chairs and tables are also available for your seating pleasures!!! Great selection, can't wait to go back and sample what's new, and pick up a few bottles.

Not only is it located practically on the UNC Campus in University Square adjacent to Granville Towers (which has its own security), but it's only a few doors down from a satellite office of the Chapel Hill Police Department. The staff is nice as well, even late into the night. If the party's gone dry, you need a late night sugar fix, or are just in search of this week's Vogue, Ken's will likely have it. And, more importantly, as safety has recently become an issue in Chapel Hill Ken's might be a wise choice.
