Pretty standard teeter but slightly below average quality and selection of meat and produce.

The best independent pharmacy I have ever used! They go the extra mile in helping you out,…read moreremember who you are, and are just great caring people. Go, Carrboro Family Pharmacy!

I live in NC not CA I have been in charge in picking up…read moreother peoples' pharmaceuticals (hereafter "meds") for a great deal longer than I have been picking up my own. I was responsible for: my aunt; a combat officer from Nam; a close friend who had chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) for 15 years. [She actually became happy with a diagnosis of cancer- because she finally had a "real" diagnosis]; another close friend, my mother, my son & my ex-wife. I have been in VA Hospital pharmacies, regular Hospital pharmacies, pharmacies in NJ (including the old time Pharmacy in Westfield, NJ where I grew up), the old time pharmacy in Chapel Hill down toward Carrboro (right side of Franklin St) that vanished decades ago, the 24 hour CVS in X Plaza (where I met a woman who never smiled in my sight for 7 years), & the old "dope shop" on Ninth St in Durham. In addition, since I traveled as a wetland delineator, I have been in Rite-Aids, Walgreens, & CVS pharmacies all over NC: including the Manteo CVS (helpful, well stocked) and the Nags Head CVS (not well-stocked, but still helpful) and a dreadful CVS in Jacksonville (who have joined the general incentive there to separate the Marines from their money as quickly as possible). I've been ignored, snapped at, stared at with no comprehension at all, had the legality of my own doctor's prescription questioned ("Where did you get this?"), & overcharged. I have been told "I'm sorry; this is the only manufacturer we have in stock." & "I'm sorry but that medication doesn't exist." & "I'm sorry but Medicaid still hasn't cleared this. Maybe tomorrow they will. Can you come back then?" & "We don't stock that. Can you go to the CVS in X (a town 30 miles away)?" Carrboro Family Pharmacy in Carrboro Plaza(at 104 NC Hwy 54 Ste J Carrboro, NC 27510, 919.933.7629) has always been reliable, well-stocked, polite, extremely knowledgeable, & helpful with any confusion I had about my meds or their side effects. I've had very few problems with anyone, or any medication, at Carrboro Family Pharmacy in Carrboro Plaza (from clerks to pharmacists). If I did, they have immediately tried to fix it, and they have either succeeded, or found another road to reach my goal. They accept my goal as their goal. I can easily discuss manufacturers with them (certain generics don't work with me) and they have special ordered more suitable manufacturers for me at no extra charge. They are easy to talk to; have easy access to the pharmacists from the front; you can talk directly to a full pharmacist (not some kind of PA); and you can tell that they care enough to want to deliver top notch professional assistance to you concerning your meds. Not at all like the idiot-staffed BS I have always experienced with the oligopoly that has taken over the entire drug market in North Carolina (Walgreens & CVS). Carrboro Family Pharmacy in Carrboro Plazacombines old-fashioned customer service with swift proficiently using all the 21stcentury tools. Further they have a helpful staff that combines concern, compassion and unfailing politeness with knowledge & real ingenuity in fixing problems that arise. I've been converted. I'll never go anywhere else again. (Humana mail-order can take a flying leap into...) Go there & you will never again be "helped" by someone who glances at their watch before they look at you; then looks at you with eyes showing just a hint of intelligence (& no interest at all); & then asks you in a monotone "Kinihelppu?"

This is the University Place Harris Teeter, located just off of 15-501 (Fordham Blvd) in Chapel…read moreHill. This is a good Harris Teeter. My wife and I liked it because it had fresh produce and a lot of variety. Our regular Harris Teeter in Chapel Hill was the Meadowmont Village location. The Meadowmont Village Harris Teeter is in a nicer, quieter neighborhood. However, that Harris Teeter is smaller in size and the produce wasn't as fresh as what we saw here. I think this Harris Teeter is also better than the other Harris Teeter we regularly visited, at Hope Valley Commons in Durham. While similar in size, this Harris Teeter had fresher produce and a wider selection than what we were accustomed to at Hope Valley. We picked up several items at this location. The prices shown in the list below are after VIC discount. Side note: I never signed up for a VIC membership during our four-plus years in Chapel Hill. I continued to use my Kroger Plus membership. It gave me the same discounts. There was some sort of deal or discount on most of the items we purchased. * Greek Gods Greek Yogurt Honey Vanilla $3.99 * Driscoll's Sweet Strawberries $5.99 * Driscoll's Raspberries $7.99 * Consalo Family Farms Blueberries $2.49 * Purely Elizabeth Organic Original Granola $6.99 * Harris Teeter Farmers Market Baby Carrots, 1 pound bag $1.99 * Wickles Original Pickles $4.99 * Wickles Wicked Garlic $4.99 * Harris Teeter Farmers Market Hearts of Romaine $3.49 * Silk Almond Creamer Vanilla $4.49 * Mini Seedless Cucumbers $2.50 * Perdue Chicken Breast Tenderloins $6.71 * Green Onions $1.29 * Sweet Onions $1.49/lb * Bulk Russet Potatoes $5.49/lb * Asparagus $3.99/lb * Yellow Peaches $1.79/lb * Whole Watermelon ("Personal Melon") $2.99 Service was fine. The store was relatively quiet during our late Sunday afternoon visit. When we arrived, there was a homeless family (mom, dad, kids) panhandling out front. They were gone when we left.

Don't give me wrong - it's still not the worst Harris Teeter in the area, but you can see the changes. First off, the managers must be getting judged on how many ad spots are being played. It's one ad per pop song. You are getting an ad about every three or four minutes. The store near Duke University doesn't play loud music nor the ads and it's a much more pleasant experience.Ii'm already shopping here: you don't need to keep trying to sell me or brainwash me. If I wanted music, I would've brought my headphones. Actually, I *do* bring my headphones because they help shut out the ads. Whatever marketing demons you've summoned, HT/Kroger, big surprise that they lied to you about what will make customers more loyal to your store. Second, the chances are now higher of getting a check-out person who is more interested in getting back to their phone than giving you attentive service. To me this says that they aren't getting paid enough to care. I don't hold it against these kids, but I do note the different attitude. To end on a high note, they do care about their fruits and vegetable section and I have generally gotten really good service at the deli. It's not that this is a bad store, it's just not the great store that it used to be.
