The first words I heard from them were, "Are you okay?" And there was genuine concern in the voice of the woman who answered the phone. They were very busy with other jobs, but were able to squeeze me in about a week after the accident. They told me the work would take three days and the work took three days. They did really, really good work. And the best part, the final cost was several hundred dollars LESS THAN the estimate. They found ways to save me money and did so. I highly recommend them.

The idiot who runs this company just contacted me a second time, 2 years after the first review, a…read moreyear after first attempt at explaining why he charged my wife twice what the quote was, and 3 years after the original service. This time he gave me a different sob story about how he didn't want to detail my wife's car at all, because he thought it was so repulsive he didn't want to touch it, which is total bullshit, but my wife "begged him" to clean it. Then he said he had to hire a "subcontractor" to do the cleaning, and he couldn't get to the exterior of the car because the interior took so long and they started late. All lame excuses. The first story was that he did the exterior of the car, and then didn't want to do the interior, so doubled the price. Now the story changes to he did the interior first and didn't have time to do the exterior. Well, both the interior and exterior were done that day, so you're full of shit. And the part about the "subcontractor" is irrelevant, if even true. This guy is the worst "business man" I've dealt with in a long time. He runs a company whose job it is do to the dirty work that vehicle owners don't want to do themselves, then doubles his price when his dainty sensibilities are overwhelmed. He doesn't understand that when you give someone a price for work, that you do the work FOR THAT PRICE. If you miscalculated the amount of work YOU eat the difference, or you refuse to do the work up front, and renegotiate the price BEFORE you start any work. If it's more work than you expected you don't do half of the work and then renegotiate the price, which is what you did. This is business 101, but given your chosen career is cleaning other peoples cars I doubt you took that course in college. It's my opinion that this idiot is probably confusing my wife's car with some other car after 3 years and harassing me, again, about leaving him a bad review. Too bad. Boo hoo. Stop blaming other people for your own mistakes. Man up and take responsibility. You gave someone a quote to clean a car, unseen. Mistake #1. You started working on the car before inspecting it. Mistake #2. You did half the work and then decided the original quote wouldn't cover the work. Mistake #3. You bullied the customer into paying double what the quote was. Mistake #4. Then after seeing my review you contacted me twice, with two different stories, trying to blame my wife for your mistakes. BIGGEST mistake. A few days later my daughter returned to Maine when she experienced a problem on her way home. I called Gauthiers and explained the car wasn't safe to travel with and asked what was my best course of action. They asked for my address and sent a tow truck to my house three hours away the next morning. I was shocked to say the least knowing how customer service in America has degraded over the years. The garage had experienced a problem with their alignment machine which they weren't aware of at the time. They ended up fixing the issue, replacing two tires and bringing the vehicle back to us . Stay away from Buffmaster Auto Detailing. I got lulled into a false sense of security based on all the positive reviews. I am convinced that they are either shill/friend reviews or people who ONLY got exterior details from him. Last Saturday I dropped my car off for an interior detail for $160. Sunday I picked it up and he let me know "I wasn't able to get the heat going in this thing so it's going to be a little bit before it dries". I thought "hmmm...the heat was working fine when I dropped it off". Picked it up and the A/C was stuck on high and only one of the climate control consoles was working. He tried to tell me that it would dry out, no problem. I won't make this story too long but the upshot is that it didn't resolve and I asked him for a refund. After first trying to blame me for having a dirty car (???) yep that's why I was paying for the detail) he said he would give me a refund if I would release him from any further liability. I *should* have realized at this point that he knew he did significant damage. I told him I would wait a few more days and when it didn't resolve I knew that a climate control panel costs $180 and that Nate could probably switch it out so, like an idiot, I agreed. Now my mechanic says that the body control module is completely shot and it's going to cost hundred to fix (at least $400 - $500). Oh and the speedometer isn't working either. So no climate control, no speedometer....My mechanic said it looks like somebody literally took a hose to the control panel. So I have no legal recourse because this guy ripped me off, he obviously knew he caused major damage and wanted to refund me the minimum and get out of liability as fast as he could. But the least I can do is let my friends, family and the general public stay away from these "pros". I also posted pictures in my FB post of the water damage, as well as screenshots of him repeatedly trying to get out of liability.

They took my truck in and gave it a good once - over to see what it would need and prepared an estimate right there on the spot. They were able to complete the repairs slightly under the dollar amount of the estimate (When is the last time that happened to you ?) and returned my truck to me after breathing new life into an old dog.
