Last spring, we called Frederick Air to have a problem with our system diagnosed. I was not cooling…read moreeffectively. A friend who knew HVAC but was not licensed had already told us our compressor was fine. The tech Frederick Air sent out to diagnose our problem said we needed a new compressor and recommended a whole new system because our system was 15 years old and would only be a matter of time before other parts failed. If I hadn't known better, we would have paid thousands for a repair that actually only cost hundreds. Would our problem have been fixed with a new system? Yes, but at what cost? If we had replaced only the compressor that they said wasn't working, it wouldn't have fixed the problem, and they would have sold us an entire new system anyway. The company we ended up using found a leak, repaired it, recharged the coolant, and our house kept cool throughout the entire summer. If Frederick Air suggests an expensive new system, get a second opinion. How will you know if that is what you really need without a second opinion?

I don't write a lot of reviews, but Holtzople did such an amazing job, I felt the need to take time…read moreand write this review and let others know about my experience. I worked directly with Jerred and he was amazing! He came out (On Labor Day!!!) and 100% saved me. It was warm, and I had a bunch of family in town for the holidays and an extremely hot house wasn't going to work for me. I called Holtzople around 10 am, they answered the phone live (only company I could find that didn't go to VM) and Jerred was out within a few hours. He was very informative and quick (which was important because, no offense to Jerred, I prefer to spend the holiday with my family instead of him) and didn't even charge extra because it was a holiday. Turns out I had a contactor that went bad (he showed it to me... it was literally burnt at the top) and was a pretty quick and easy fix. I am VERY happy with the customer service, pricing and speed of service. If you have an issue (especially on a holiday) make sure to call Holtzople and ask for Jerred!

First of all there was no delayed response you posted the same day that I did. If you didn't think…read morepeople used Yelp, then why did you respond so quickly. Yes That is my name. That is just a bold-faced lie Sir. I talked to Matt all the time and mentioned the issues that I had at the time of installation. Nothing was done. The initial work order had something to the affect of move unit 2 feet to the right to accommodate the 4-inch box filter that I wanted installed because we had pets. I changed the location of where you wanted to put it so as to facilitate the drain from the unit, the running of which looks like crap (see picture) Why would I need a maintenance plan to change filters? The Filter never did fit correctly if you will look at your service records you will see that Daniel came to do a service to our unit and cobbled together something to keep the filter in place which it was not doing. Yes he wanted to open the closed system and remove the coil and take a chance introducing contaminates into it. How often do you open a sealed system just to clean a coil I don't believe I ever did. And He wanted to charge $1400 and take a day or so to do it. Again not true I asked if he could spray some calclean from the top of the coil as I have done for the last twenty years that I have been in the industry and none of the water the he sprinkled on the upper side of the coil even got into it. and the technician gave in and DOCUMENTED, that the cleaning was worthless And yet after saying that what he did was worthless he still charged me $419. I took my Electrical Apprenticeship in 1982 I took my HVAC Mechanic apprenticeship in 1990 and have been working in building maintenance since 1986. I am a professional for the last 40 years and If I did some work that was worthless, I could not in good consciousness charge the customer for that work. Your installation guys ran the thermostat in the open in my closet after they said they would put it inside the wall(the original tstat wire was in the closet and I wanted it in the wall ) I believe I addressed all the points you bought up on this not used forum. Have a great Day John. Thanks for putting my name and Address out here (not very professional)on this not used forum. Where do you live?

After a scorching summer and a long vacation that ended with a trip to the hospital for my husband,…read moreI returned home and immediately noticed our AC wasn't working. I called J & J, a company I've dealt with before, and within an hour, William and Matt arrived at our house. They took their time to explain the issue and presented us with clear options, avoiding any pushy sales tactics. It was evident they were knowledgeable and genuinely cared about restoring our home's comfort. We decided to replace the 15-year-old AC unit. In the meantime, they were concerned about the excessive heat and provided us with a temporary AC window unit to cool the house. Within two days, Brendon, Evan, and David arrived with the new unit. They were incredibly professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. They promptly got to work, wearing shoe covers inside, laying down mats, and removing the old heavy equipment. They completed the repair quickly, cleaned up thoroughly, and ensured everything was functioning perfectly before leaving. Finding honest, hardworking, and skilled home repair teams these days is rare, but this crew exceeded our expectations. I highly recommend Johnson & Johnson and their three exceptional technicians. I also want to thank the in-office staff for keeping us informed and updated throughout the process. I wish all businesses operated like J&J.

I'm very disappointed with my recent experience with this company and its Comfort Program…read more A little over a year ago, I hired this company to replace the HVAC system at my rental property and paid approximately $14,000 for the new system and installation. I subsequently continued doing business with them and paid for their Comfort Program because I wanted the new system professionally inspected and maintained on a regular basis. During the most recent scheduled maintenance visit, the technician told me that the HVAC system is working properly and that there are NO problems with it. He was unable to identify or articulate any actual problem that needed to be repaired or corrected. Instead, during the visit, the technician discussed an optional iWave air-purification system with my tenants before discussing it with me, the property owner. What bothered me most was that the technician apparently brought up the fact that my tenants have small children and discussed how this product could provide cleaner air for their family. Naturally, after that conversation, my tenants wanted me to have it installed. I was then contacted and quoted approximately $740 for the system. After doing my own research, I also have serious questions about the value of this type of ionization technology. From what I have been able to determine, the real-world benefits of bipolar ionization systems such as iWave are debated, and I found plenty of criticism questioning whether the benefits justify the cost. That makes the way this product was presented to my tenants even more concerning to me. I have absolutely no problem with a technician identifying legitimate repairs, safety concerns, maintenance needs, or even recommending an optional upgrade directly to me. In fact, that is one of the reasons I pay for a maintenance program. But the technician specifically told me the system was operating properly and that there were no problems that needed to be addressed. What I do have a problem with is using a maintenance visit that I am paying for as an opportunity to market an expensive optional product to my tenants--particularly by tying the sales pitch to the health and well-being of their young children. My tenants are not authorized to approve repairs or upgrades to my property. Any optional products should have been discussed with me first. Instead, this put both my tenants and me in an unnecessary and uncomfortable position. I am now left explaining why I may not purchase a product that the technician has already suggested would provide cleaner air for their children. After spending approximately $14,000 with this company just a little over a year ago, I expected the ongoing relationship and the Comfort Program to be focused on maintaining and protecting that investment. I certainly did not expect a maintenance visit on a properly functioning, relatively new system to turn into an opportunity to sell additional products to my tenants. As a result of this experience, I have decided to cancel my Comfort Program. I want to pay an HVAC company for preventative maintenance, legitimate service needs, and honest recommendations--not for twice-a-year opportunities to upsell products to my tenants.
