The number of stars a restaurant on Yelp has are often meaningless. Case in point is this one: most of these reviewers have either never had quality authentic urban Chinese food or the restaurant they reviewed has changed drastically. The dumplings we had were good, not great. The Jasmine tea was good (not from bags), but the noodle soup was really bad - the broth was horrible, it was mostly noodles, with tiny bits of meat, and a few cheap vegetables. We were the only people in there on a Friday night. The menu is pretty limited which shows it's not the authentic type of Chinese restaurant which usually has about 40-50 dishes to choose from. I should have known - this is Revelstoke, not Vancouver. It's def not the place to get authentic Asian food. But since most of the people who eat here are unaware of what quality Chinese food is like, places like this can continue to serve marginal fare and people will think it's great. Oh well. read more

If you're looking for a small "mom & pop" place with good food this is definitely the place for you. Their menu is limited, but what they do offer is done excellent. Their dumplings, we added pan fried for $1 more, were some of the best I've had. The beef noodle soup was also delicious and filling. The broth was flavorful. We came at 530p on a Friday night and it was only a husband and wife (?) working kitchen and front. They go a little busy as we sat there, but she worked super hard and gave each table the needed attention. It was a little pricey, but everything seemed homemade so I didn't mind paying the extra for quality. read more

Kevin and his lovely wife, Lucy opened this amazing restaurant about 3 years ago. Kevin is behind the scenes in the kitchen creating all the deliciousness from the menu. Lucy is out in front with all the customers. They make a wonderful team. We started off with the Pork and Cabbage dumplings and then the Ripped Cabbage. Went there with friends yesterday. The service was good but the food was waaaay over priced. The noodle has less meat than cup noodle and the vegetables are undercooked. The soup tastes like plain water. The dumplings are probably from grocery store. Overall very disappointing, this is not how Chinese food should be. The owners are very nice person, but they should really improve their cooking skill. Restaurant sign says Chinese home style, but it's more like single man living in moms basement style. I would like to give 1 star but give 2 stars instead to encourage them since the owners are. Edit: changed to one star after trying out all the restaurants nearby. Oh wow, I was quite surprised to find such a gem in this small town we happen to stop by. We were just driving by on our way to Calgary from Vancouver and decided to stop for a quick lunch. I opened the yelp, we didn't feel like heavy food so we picked the first Asian we saw in the area, didn't even bother to read the review as we were in rush, just walked in. It was a little after two and the restaurant was already closed, but they still let us in for lunch. We quickly ordered, rice noodle soup, wonton soup and veggie fried noodle. First bite and I knew this place didn't use any msg at all. Very friendly homey taste and my daughter who refuses to eat bad food, loved everything we ordered! The wonton soup had kind of seaweed I love. The veggie fried noodle that we ordered with rice noodles had black fungus(mushrooms) and bean curd. I wish there's a place like this in Vancouver. This is not a typical Chinese restaurant with heavy oil and msg. Very healthy, not salty, and I felt good after. The lady was really nice. Despite walking in after it had already been closed she did not rush us at all and made us feel at home. We will be stopping on our way back for sure. It's definitely overpriced...I wasn't even full after a $14 meal( I got the dumplings). The dumplings tasted like the ones bought in the market and everything including the food my fam members got were in small portions... Really delicious handmade dumplings! We ate the Pork LoBok dumplings, chow mein noodles and a very comforting beef noodle soup. All delicious. I highly recommend this tasty place. Waitstaff/owner was incredible friendly - tried to teach us how to say "LoBok" (radish) in Cantonese. A simple paired down menu says they focus on doing a few things great, instead of a million dishes mediocre. Go grab yourself some dumplings if you're in town. read more

This was a surprising find in Revelstoke. The dumplings were delicious (we got both fried and boiled) and compared favorably to some of the best we've had! Make sure to get the spicy sauce, if you can handle it. We also had the cucumber dish which was pretty good, although could've been marinated a little longer (at least for our taste). read more

My family is originally from northern China and I have to say, these potstickers as good as what you would find in China. The pan fried pork and cabbage have just the right amount of seasoning with a slight hint of ginger, delicious! Better flavor than what we can find in most restaurants in the US! read more

Myself, wifey and 2 young (picky eaters) polished off 24 dumplings, chicken chow mein, and a wonton soup. Everything was delicious. They make their own dumpling by hand. No msg, no artificial flavourings. The food here is wholesome and freshly made. Not your typical 'Chinese' resto, this place is authentic - the food here is actually filling and nourishing. Inside the resto it's very clean, a comfortably quiet atmosphere - soft oriental music playing in the background, minimal yet elegant decor. Customer service was impeccable! Very reasonably priced considering the location - 12 homemade dumpling for 13 dollars. :) They appeared to have many vegetarian options as well. Family owned business - mother father and son. Very polite but we waited over 50min for our food order which is unacceptable. The waiter did tell us there will be a slightly longer wait because of a table that came in before us but we didn't expect to wait this long. The place wasn't even that busy.
