THANK YOU, Greg and Christian! I brought in my water damaged laptop *in a panic* and they calmed me down and told me what they'd try to do for data recovery. Within 2 hours and right before closing they contacted me with good news--they had found my data and could back it up onto a new external hard drive ($100) or I could bring in something of my own. I brought in my new laptop when they opened in the morning and after another 2 hours everything had been migrated from the old (I thought lost) laptop to the new one. They did a great job and made my family all so happy. We had an external drive that we transferred all our Xbox 360 games on to and all of a sudden it stopped working. We were all so sad and thought that we had lost everything forever. I found Kevins Computer on Yelp and they said they recover data or we don't pay so I gave it a try since I had nothing to lose. Horrible, absolutely do not go here. I brought in my laptop yesterday because the WiFi was not working. I paid them the fifty dollars for the diagnostics. They called and said nothing was wrong.so I picked it up today. While I was still there I turned it on and no WiFi. The guy that worked on it said of course there is but he couldn't find it. The fix was for me to spend forty dollars on an external antenna that I could have bought yesterday and saved the fifty dollars. They could care less and even told me it was my fault. I'm not even sure if what I bought was new. I spent several hundred dollars at Kevin's a year ago having this laptop updated with a solid state drive. I thought they would treat me right but was I wrong. The guy kept talking about how it wasn't his fault and so on. I asked him to stop talking several times so I could just pay and leave but he wouldn't. One of the most horrible service experiences I have endured. Kevin, I've owned a business. I know how credit cards work and if you really wanted to refund me you would have done it but, you didn't. No one needs to provide permission to get their money back. read more

My hard drive died, so I took my computer to the Dana Point store. I was told they would replace the hard drive and transfer the data to the new drive for $150.00. (I supplied the new hard drive.) So I approved the repairs. Later when I called, I was told that it would be an additional $150 to reinstall Windows. Now the total cost doubled to $300 plus what I had already paid for buying the hard drive. If they had told me that it would be $300 in the first place, I would not have spent that much to repair my $400 Dell computer. But now I was stuck having already approved of the hard drive replacement. Although it seemed like a bait and switch, I went ahead and paid the additional $150. When I brought the computer home, almost everything I had on the computer was gone. It was a clean slate. Maybe they knew that would happen, but they never told me. It was basically useless. But it gets worse. I have written three novels. The manuscripts were on my Word Program. I was told they were all saved and were on the new hard drive, but that is not true. They are gone. It's been a total loss for me, $300 down the toilet. read more

I bought one of Kevin's refurbished laptops and Anthony took the time to recover and transfer most of my files; salvaging what he could. Kevin fixed my old phone and replaced the glass. It took a little longer than the time promised, but I can't complain about a job done well. He was very honest and got the phone back up and running. I had absolutely the best possible experience here! My laptop screen's pixels were dying, and my screen was slowly going black. Apple quoted me $900, Best Buy quoted me $400 plus a 4 week turn around time. Neither of these were an option for me as a college student paying her own bills. My last hope was a local shop, and I came across Kevins!! I called, they told me to come in to better evaluate my laptop. When they finished the evaluation they gave me a quote for the price and when the part (new laptop screen) would arrive. When the screen finally arrived (right as quoted I would add) I had a time crunch and they were SO FLEXIBLE with me. I accidentally formatted my drive and lost 500 gb of memory. I got a quote from both Best Buy and Kevin's. When I went to Best Buy and told them what happened they replied by telling me that my stuff would most likely be gone. Best Buy said they would try, but I'd still have to pay them.I called Kevin's, told them what happened and they didn't give me hopelessness like Best Buy did. Kevin's also said if they couldn't find anything they would give me my money back. End of the story, Kevin's found all my lost data and it was cheaper than what Best Buy was offering.
