A little busy for my liking but a beautiful park nonetheless.

Clean park in the heart of Saratoga. We went on a Saturday morning with our golden retriever, and there were tons of other dogs. This is a very dog-friendly park - poop bags and dog water fountain available. There's plenty of space to play soccer, a tennis court, and a half basketball court. The park has a path to an overpass that brings you to yet another smaller park that also has a tennis court and a small jungle gym. Both have a small, community library where you can freely borrow and lend books. Bonus - 2 parks in 1!

Nice park to do a walk around, connects over the freeway to a larger park as well. Huge grass area for your pups as well.

Very cute park. Felt very safe to picnic there. Barely anyone on a nice day and the grass is very well kept.

When highway 85 was built, it split the park into KMP on one side and Azule Park, abutting the school, on the other.

The drive up to the gardens is beautiful at this time with all the trees being red & orange. Entrance fee is $12 per adult but we just so happened to visit on Santa Clara County Resident's day. After showing ID, our admission was free; what a nice surprise! The gardens were small but had many different areas to enjoy; there was a beautiful pond with fish, waterfall, tea ceremony room, bamboo garden, bonsai exhibit, and more. There are a lot of nice benches to soak it all in. It's the perfect escape from the city!

I drove 45 minutes to Hakone Gardens recently at the end of March and found out that most of the cherry blossoms were gone. I was like whaaaa....I usually go during the end of March and they would be in full bloom. Apparently, they bloomed earlier this year. I was looking forward to seeing the wonderful pink color all around. Anyways, Hakone is still a treat to walk around and is very nice when the flowers are blooming. I love sitting near the beginning of the trail and looking at the ponds, bridge, koi fish and all the trees. It transports me to Japan without the airfare and passport. Parking can be difficult on busy days and will be waiting for awhile for someone to leave. Gift shop is cute and there are many cute finds in there. Admission is now $12 but parking is still free.

Though there are a few different trials to choose from, they all end up crossing at one point or another. Even if you do all of them, they aren't too long and the hike tends to be fairly short. The area is pretty hilly, so most trails have a good elevation gain. Aside from the hiking, you can stroll the garden and picnic in the grass in front of the villa. They have some art installations around the grass and in the garden that are fun to look at. They also have concerts here, there is a stage outside, but I've only ever seen one inside the concert hall. They're usually smaller names and smaller shows.

BE SURE TO CHECK OUT EACH LOT as you come up to them (Lots 1-4) as noted this is a one-way road. If you reach Lot 4 and can't find a spot you have to drive all the way back down to the main road and start over. Just saying to save the frustration. Parking is free by the way. The main estate house holds conferences and events and such was this on the day we were there, so we couldn't get inside. The main lawn is excellent for having a picnic and just relaxing. The surrounding grounds have a trail that winds around with lots of outdoor art to experience. Be sure to go through the large "deer gate" at the bottom of the grounds. There is more art to be viewed in the Italian Garden. With the trails, ponds, botanicals and art it's a lot to see and enjoy.

There are endless amounts of trails that you can look towards -- some roll around in a circle, and some lead all the way to Sanborn County Park. While many people say these trails go nowhere, they do lead to the opening of trails that lead into the Santa Cruz Mountains. The only improvement that I would give to this park is the narrowness of some of the trails that we had to encounter -- and while there were spectacular views of the South Bay, what was lackluster and disappointing was the fact that there were barely any labels that were telling us where we were going. The bridges were a very good view of how close or how far we were from the very beginning of the entrance of the park, however, so that was a very good sign. If you're looking for a park that challenges you as much as going to Almaden Quicksilver Park, but without driving so far, then the Saratoga Quarry Park is just for you. I'll definitely be back to challenge myself to climb these hiking paths more.
