I'm pretty picky when it comes to dentists, especially after seeing several in the Bay Area, and Kevin is one of the few who really stood out to me for the right reasons. The biggest thing is that he doesn't rush you. He takes time to explain what's going on, what he recommends, why he recommends it, and what the next steps are. Here, I felt like I actually understood my treatment instead of just being told what to do. At first glance, Dr. Lin's office looks impressive -- sleek, state-of-the-art equipment, walls lined with certifications, super nice receptionist, and glowing online reviews. But don't let appearances fool you. My experience here was anything but professional, and I would strongly caution anyone against choosing this office. Let me start with the billing nightmare. Back in May 2024, the office confirmed they would retract a claim for a service I was billed for but never received. Yet, by November 2024, I noticed on my dental bill that the claim still hadn't been corrected. I emailed the office again, and they politely assured me they were working on it. A month later, with nothing resolved, I called Delta Dental to follow up. Imagine my surprise when Delta Dental told me they had never received any communication from Dr. Lin's office about the retraction. To get clarity, I arranged a three-way call with Delta Dental and the dental office. On the call, Dr. Lin's staff claimed they had *faxed* the retraction but Delta Dental said they saw no proof of any such fax in my file. When pressed, they abruptly hung up, saying they needed to speak with the person who supposedly sent the fax. I had to call them back for further details, only to be met with vague explanations. Afterward, Delta Dental informed me that it was strange the office chose to fax the retraction in the first place (if they had faxed it), especially since they had access to an online portal where corrections could have been filed quickly and securely. Retractions take a maximum of 30 days to process, yet here we were, seven months later, still waiting. The irony of this situation? The same office that dragged its feet on a retraction had managed to bill Delta Dental *the same day* for the original service. In all my years dealing with healthcare providers, I've never seen a claim filed so fast. To add insult to injury, I also had to request a manual refund for the additional charges they placed on my credit card for the service I didn't receive. The entire ordeal was exhausting and unnecessary, making it painfully clear that this office prioritizes speed in billing over accuracy or accountability. Unfortunately, the service side was just as disappointing. I was referred to Dr. Lin by my general dentist, who had been managing my implant care. Before the appointment, I sent over my full dental implant history so the office could review it in advance. Since I trusted my general dentist's referral, I waited a week for this appointment, believing Dr. Lin would be prepared. This was 1 week without a front tooth, ladies and gentlemen. 5 minutes into the consultation, however, Dr. Lin informed me there was nothing he could do because he doesn't work with zirconia implants. This was baffling, as my records clearly outlined my implant was zirconia, and the office had plenty of time to review them before scheduling me. What's worse, Dr. Lin claimed he had "researched" my implant before the appointment, but I later discovered he misidentified my implant model entirely. His diagnosis and recommendation were completely wrong, which could have seriously impacted my dental health had I followed his advice. Thankfully, I sought out other dentists who correctly identified my implant model and provided the care I needed. But this misdiagnosis demonstrated a glaring lack of attention to detail and professionalism. It's one thing to admit you can't treat a specific case, but it's entirely different -- and unacceptable -- to misdiagnose someone because of careless research. Looking back, this entire experience has been a wake-up call. I also fired my general dentist for referring me to Dr. Lin in the first place. From the mishandling of my billing to the complete failure in patient care, Dr. Lin's office consistently failed to meet even basic standards of professionalism. If you're considering Dr. Lin, save yourself the headache and look elsewhere. Appearances can be deceiving. You have been warned. read more

What a Phenomenal Place! From the friendly faces of the reception desk women, to the magic hands of Dr. Kevin Lin, I was treated superbly and compassionately during an "urgent" dental appointment, involving both implant crowns. One crown had sheared off the abutment screw, leaving a sharp piece of protruding metal in my unprotected upper jaw. The other crown was wobbly, and out of bite alignment. Dr. Lin and his team made immediate time for me within 24 hours, and solved my dental disaster. Dr. Lin has an engaging and caring chairside manner, while single-handedly getting the job done. Dr. Lin is the BEST dentist I have ever encountered in my 60 years of dealing with some fairly miserable dental problems. He was able to re-attach an All-on-Four denture plate that several other dentists refused to work on. Dr. Lin is knowledgeable, resourceful, and highly skilled at diagnosing and resolving implant issues. Not only is he talented, but he is the very soul of kindness. He does not rush his patients, or dismiss their fears. He recognizes that ongoing dental problems are nearly always accompanied by pain and trauma. It was such a huge relief to be treated gently and respectfully. Dr. Lin is also careful in choosing his staff. From the first moment I made contact with his office, I was impressed with the level of professionalism and genuine concern of the lovely people who work for him. I am normally a nervous wreck when seeing a dentist, but the receptionist and assistants put me at ease immediately with their grace and positive attitude. Doctor Lin is a very kind prosthodontist. Making some time to get to know you and being thorough in his work . I'm seeing him for implant crowns and enhancing the look of my smile . I did not have to do any of the messy molds that I was used to , prior to seeing Doctor Lin; they use a scanner to create the mold digitally and the imaging also shows where you bite down exactly , to assess occlusion etc . After the scan he showed me and explained patiently . His office is clean and has a ton of really nice ,bright artwork . The staff is really kind and helpful and very responsive to calls/questions and takes time to help you . I highly recommend Doctor Lin's office . read more

An uncommon failure in the structure of an upper front tooth implant (put in some 20 years ago by another dentist) led me to seek a specialist who could save the implant and avoid forcing me to undergo a full redoing of the implant. The original dentist referred me to Dr. Lin two weeks ago and the issue was indeed fixed and a lengthy and costly process of redoing the implant from scratch was averted. Dr Kevin Lin has my highest recommendation. I had a root canal with a sensational endodentist, Jason Kung (Sunnyvale), a month ago. It was unclear whether some of the gum would have to be trimmed to accommodate a crown, so I was referred to Dr Kevin Lin by our wonderful primary dentist, Dr Shirley Irudayaraj (Dove Dental Smiles in Sunnyvale). I was very nervous, as I always am when I go to a dentist or doctor. Kevin and his staff quickly put me completely at ease. He gently examined the tooth area and felt confident that no gum cutting (euphemistically called crown lengthening) was required. To make absolutely sure, he proposed fitting me with a temporary crown, see how it worked, then fashion the permanent crown. What a great solution! He was aware that to maximize our dental coverage, it would be advantagous to schedule the first of 2 visits before the year is over. I started seeing Dr. Lin about a year and a half ago, after seeing so many dentist about all my missing teeth ill fitting partials and having so much pain so much work that was just temporary fixes. Struggling all those years cause no one was willing to work with me and my financial situation, but when I went to Dr. Lin he was so kind and understanding and the only dentist willing to help me. Dr. Lin and everyone that works with him are very kind and caring. I am so happy with my new smile, now I can smile in my pictures and pretty much eat anything I want without worrying if my partial is going to break or dealing with the pain associated with partials. it took a little over a year after my implant surgery but it was worth the wait. After not seeing a dentist for some time, my Mother was having some dental discomfort. Dr. Kevin Lin came highly recommended by another dentist. Due to her age, 93 years old, she has some mobility issues. Dr. Lin's office could easily accommodate her. At the first appointment he carefully diagnosed what was troubling my Mother, and the tenderness in her mouth. The issue was much more serious than what we had expected. Dr. Lin was very considerate, clearly explained the problem and provided information about next steps to be taken for proper treatment. Referrals were also provided. The follow up care was exceptional too. Every couple weeks, Dr. Lin's receptions called to see how my Mother was proceeding with her treatment. That was the extra special care that wasn't necessary but was genuinely a bright moment. My mother has since gone back for a follow up visit and teeth cleaning. What I appreciate most about Dr. Lin is that there are multiple ways to treat an issue. He carefully assesses what would be the best treatment for his patient, and clearly explains the options.
