Dr. Nguyen and his team are absolutely Grade A. I initially made an appointment for a consultation regarding my gum recession. I had actually been putting it off, because I had already had a procedure for this exact problem about 10 years ago with a different doctor and it was truly terrible - mismanaged pain levels, terrible wound on the roof of my mouth from where the doctor took tissue to mend receeding gums, etc. So, I was apprehensive when I showed up for my consultation. Dr. Nguyen and his staff put me at ease immediately. Dr. Nguyen was extremely thorough in his examination and assessment. He carefully explained what needed to be done, and even (to my joy!) described how the procedure could be done without creating a gaping wound on the roof of the mouth. I am writing this review on behalf of my mother-in-law. She had LANAP Laser Treatment and a tooth implant done by Dr. Nguyen. Overall, we were very pleased with his thorough and professional work. Dr. Nguyen extracted my upper molar tooth 14 on June 11, 2021. At my request, I received only Nitrous Oxide gas (calming) and Novocaine injection (blocks pain) so I was awake during the procedure, and did not experience any pain. Dr. Nguyen also placed small bits of donor bone in the tooth socket to speed the growth of bone socket to get ready for an implant later. Dr. Nguyen was gentle and careful during the entire procedure. My recovery was as expected and without any complications or sinus infection. I was very thankful because the roots of my back molars are very close to my sinuses. I believe I did so well because Dr. Nguyen was very careful and took his time to do an excellent job. I went to a local Dentist here in Monterey for an exam. It turned out that my upper row of teeth needed to be extracted. She told me that removable dentures were the best I could get, due to bone loss. I asked if there was a better package out there. She quickly recommended Dr. Nguyen in Sunnyvale. She gave me his info and mentioned it will be worth the commute. I contacted Dr. Nguyen and made an appointment for evaluation. I was welcomed by a kind receptionist named Sasha. After evaluation Dr. Nguyen explained his plan that involved the extraction of a lower tooth as well. Three steps and four to six month wait time for permanent implants after extractions. Allowing my gums to completely heal. The next step was to see his cosmetic Dentist in Morgan Hill. Dr. Mario Marroquin. Dr. Marroquin was a pleasure to meet and he explained in great detail the process in fitting the temporary dentures. Next step was the extraction surgery. The surgery went perfectly. Dr. Nguyen's wife went into labor during the surgery with his first child. Congratulations!!! He was dialed in to my surgery and The post op pain was minimal. Dr. Morraquin was there reading my teeth as they came out to make final adjustments. Perfect fit. The next step was to have laser gum surgery and extract the lower tooth. The Drs. got together and were forming a plan to make it as comfortable as possible for me after the surgery. They came up with a perfect plan that included a three way parlay between three Doctors. On the day of the surgery I was to go to Dr. Morraquin's office in Morgan hill. Dr. Morraquin measured my bite and we moved on to Dr. Nguyen's office in Sunnyvale.The surgery was seamless. On our way back to Monterey we stopped at Dr. Morraquin's office again. My extracted tooth was there to be installed as temporary implant. WOW!! Others leave their patients with empties during the healing process. Bravo!! After post op review Dr. Nguyen gave me a complete teeth cleaning. It was by far the best ever. Restoring my lower teeth to pearly whites. No pain involved. Others have assistants do this type of work. Dr Nguyen did a tooth extraction and an implant for me. The whole procedure took some time mostly because I wanted to let the bone heal after the extraction. Dr Nguyen is very thorough and also very good at what he does. All of the procedures caused very little pain even though they were done with local anesthesia. First off Thank you! I had an incident that left me needing an implant. Dr Nguyen came to office on his day off, unbelievable, and he thoroughly went over the implantation processes which really help calm my nerves. His talent is impeccable. He called post procedure to ensure I was ok, which took me by surprise cause no surgeon has ever taken time to call their patient. I had mild pain after procedure and took one ibuprofen. I found Michael 3 years ago after doing quite some research online. At that time I had been suffering gum infection for over a year. After 4 root canals and a gum surgery nothing changed, tried 3 different dentists and specialists, with gum bone damaged even. It was Michael who fixed it all. It was lengthy treatment though because of all the damages. Michael first did thorough exam and gave me a thorough review of the situation. He didn't jump to conclusion immediately but had a phased treatment plan which eventually got me where we wanted get to. I met Dr. Nguyen at another dental office where he completed the dental implant for me back in 2013. Over Memorial Day in 2017, the post broke (completed by different dental specialist in 2015). After a week of trying to figure out how to get this fixed, I ended up back with Dr. Nguyen because I needed to get the gum area surgically opened up and replaced with a new screw so my current dental provider could place a new post on top. Dr. Nguyen has been wonderful and really appreciate how he explains whatever he is doing and why as well as answering any questions. I even learned how to floss properly (a particular way for dental implants), which my other dental provider forgot to explain. Dr. Nguyen is a phenomenal periodontist. I recently needed an implant surgery and was absolutely terrified of the procedure. Granted, I'm not the best dental patient; I require gas to semi-sedate me because I get so jumpy. Turned out, I was worried about nothing. It was a piece of cake procedure thanks to Dr. Nguyen. It took less time and was less painful after than the crown I had done the week before. In fact, the only soreness I did have after was from the Novocaine injection site, which was really nothing. I recently came in for my wisdom teeth extraction. I had one consultation before the surgery and three follow up checkups after. Throughout this entire process, Dr. Nguyen and his team were extremely friendly, patient and helpful, ensuring I was comfortable and informed at all times. My husband and I were both treated by Dr Michael Nguyen. My husband (also Michael) had lost teeth from gum disease. He was limited to many types of food, and lost too much weight. We decided that Dental Implants were the best choice. Since the procedure, he can eat, chew and smile, like never before. I had hesitation with regards to my teeth extraction surgery because of both imagined fear of pain and anxiety associated with unclear risks and complications with the tricky tooth and what could go into the surgery. I went to Dr. Nguyen and he clarified everything for me in a very professional manner with great patience since I had asked many questions. I took Dr. Nguyen's suggestion and chose the IV sedation for my extraction surgery of both the upper and lower canines. IV sedation greatly relieved my stress and there was no pain felt the whole process of the surgery.
