I have been to the Kessler in Jackson 3 times and my wife has been there 2 times. This is what happens when you are middle aged quasi athletes. Each time has been a success story. I have been there for my shoulder, lower back and most recently my knee. My wife has been there for her lower back and leg. On all occasions the orthopedist was leaning towards surgery. However, no surgeries were ever done due to the effective physical therapy we received. We can't say enough about this place.
I started my physical therapy for my knee in January. I severely injured it in November and tried to rehab it on my own. When I saw the orthopedist he reviewed my MRI and said, "What the hell did you do to your knee"? Basically, the quad muscles were shredding from the knee, the knee cap was shifted and there was much swelling in the patella area. I was advised that I could try physical therapy but he recommended having a surgeon ready. He said that I was one step off a curb from having major quad repair surgery.
When I started PT I could barely walk and was on pain killers and anti-inflammatories. The staff reviewed my doctor's diagnosis and asked what my goal was. I advised them that I wanted to start running at least 3 miles consistently. Well, after 5 months at going to PT twice a week my goal was achieved and I checked myself out of the program. However, most importantly I did not need surgery.
Everyone on their staff is great. I mostly worked with Kristin and Kari. They were knowledgeable, professional, personable, and motivating. They create a personal plan to help everyone achieve their goal. Whether it's to be athletic or just regain your normal functions. My wife and I love this place for the sports minded physical therapy we received. We have highly recommended them to our friends as well as our orthopedic group. read more
