Absolutely the best PT!!! I had two knee replacements at separate times. The first one is when I met the staff at Hands On. Wow!!! They were amazing. They guided me through a painful recovery that resulted in 10 weeks of PT. From the first week until "Graduation", the staff healed me. I was able to walk, stand, and even run! A few years later and just a month ago in February of 2022 I had my second knee done. There was no thinking, I KNEW where I was going. I met with Greg and he developed a pre surgery plan for me to help in my recovery. I have to say that plan helped me recover SO much faster!! Greg my PT, MaKenzie, and Lexi my support staff (as I liked to call them) were truly fantastic. Not only did I cut my PT to just 8 weeks, but my strength and well being came back so much faster. I was referred to Hands On PT which is part of my operating hospital's network, HSS (Hospital for Special Surgery) in NY. I figured only the best would refer the best and so far so great! The staff and team are very supportive, friendly, courteous, diverse and knowledgeable professionals, well equipped to manage a variety of physical therapy needs. As a double knee replacement (simultaneously) patient, the therapists communicated effectively the plan of action necessary for me to return back to wellness and we are executing it collaboratively. I'm currently active in therapy sessions and looking forward to each visit as I'm making significant progress and improving vastly. I had a total hip replacement and with COVID I had to wait over a year to have surgery so needless to say I was in extreme pain. Had the surgery and was doing ok but no therapy after 1 month of surgery. Went to Hands On and after 1 visit I felt a million times better. I want to thank Andrew and the rest for giving me my life back. I can do things I haven't done in 2 years. They are experts in what they do and I am so glad I get therapy there. They are the best. I recently had spinal fusion surgery at Hospital for Special Surgery in NYC. HSS is rated as the number one orthopedic hospital in the nation. For folks like myself who do not live in NY, HSS has created a network of rehab providers located in the tri-state area. Hands On Physical Therapy is a member of this network. In fact they are the ONLY in-network PT facility in Ocean County. To be in the HSS network a provider has to complete a rigorous application & inspection process. Knowing full well how much HSS demands excellence in everything it does, having been selected to be in the network proves that Hands On Physical Therapy is an example of "excellence". I'm 74 yrs old and aside from the spinal surgery, some years ago I had a successful left knee replacement but due to complications I had to undergo 4 right knee replacements (not done at HSS!) resulting in years of PT with many different providers. Yet despite all this PT I'd been left with weak & unstable knees which makes my spinal surgery recovery more difficult. Without a doubt Hands On PT is the best! They immediately recognized that improving my knee strength was key to my spinal recovery. Ken, Andrew, and all of the assistants are caring & knowledgeable professionals. I get a full 2 hours of PT at each session and that is unheard of! After only 3 weeks of thrice weekly PT my knees are stronger than ever & my back pain is almost entirely gone! I am walking better and doing things I haven't been able to do in years. I also have to give kudos to the office staff. They are the nicest, most accommodating group of women I have ever had the pleasure of meeting! If you need PT this is the place to go. They also have an office in Brick and yes both the Toms River and the Brick office are certified by HSS. Be aware that just because a provider with multiple offices is in network at one location does not mean that all offices are. Each individual office must undergo the HSS admission process and receive the in-network designation. I just can't say enough good things about Hands On PT!! read more
