I recently called Martin at Kern Auto Glass for help with a suspected broken window regulator on an '87 Toyota 4Runner. He promptly ordered the parts and scheduled an appointment. Martin showed up on time and even though the door mechanism was damaged, was able to make entry to my truck in no time. He disassembled the window mechanism and showed me the broken, worn parts that were in need of replacement. He taught me that the regulator was fine but rather the door window channel was missing and assured me this was something I could order and replace myself cheaply. He very well could have charged me to replace a part that I didn't need but instead he was honest. Martin patched up the door with some spare parts and glued a broken mirror and window frame for me. Wow, wow, wow! Thanks to Yelp!, I found a really awesome service team in my time of need. I commute to work and drive some pretty dodgy back and mountainous roads. When my Elantra was hit with a large rock, it did some serious damage to my windshield. I was hoping it would be something that would be an easy repair, but multiple people let me know it was going to be a replacement. Hyundai quoted me $450 for labor and the windshield. I messaged Martin though Yelp and sent a couple of pictures, too. He let me know it would definitely be a replacement and not a repair.
