Also known as Clock Recover, this guy took four clocks for simple repair and destroyed each one. Charged a fortune to boot. One cuckoo lock had a chain which came off the wheel. He replaced only the one chain with a bright gold one which did not match even though I told him to replace all of them for a match. Charged me over $300, said it needed cleaning. About a month later, the chain he replaced again fell off and the weight crashed to the floor. He also removed the tag hanging from it which had been left for sentimental reasons. It still sits here broken. The second clock had a simple issue. A cleaning duster had pulled one of two doors which opened for animation and it was hanging by its wire. Everything else on the clock worked perfectly. When he brought it back hardly any of the animation was working. He took it back but when he brought it back a second time he had tightened one of the chains to such a degree it is hard to pull it up, and the animation on that chain is still not working well. The third cuckoo had a chain which got stuck. Again, should have been simple. It was the first antique cuckoo I had bought decades ago, and was valuable, and I loved it. Yes, it had a few broken Roman numerals on the face but that was the only issue. He brought back a clock I did not recognize. He replaced the face with a bright white one and didn't even line up the numbers properly. The 12 o'clock numeral is at the 8 o'clock position. He replaced both chains with shiny gold ones, and I believe he changed the entire movement because I did not have a cuckoo with flapping wings, and it now has an awful cuckoo sound, and the bird has flapping wings. He then ruined the beautiful pale wood by covering it with some heavy, dark poly coating. It looks disgusting. He ruined a valuable clock. I did not ask for, or approve any of what he did. The fourth clock had a door which was not closing after the cuckoo was finished. He replaced it with a door which does not even match the clock, and there was no need to do that! It could have been adjusted. I also suspect that a fifth, expensive Regulator clock which I gave him because I had wound it and it never unwound, had its movement replaced. I can't prove it, but if he did, that clock no longer has any value. Stay as far away from this man as you can if you value your clocks. I filed with the Better Business Bureau and he has ignored them, did not respond. Photos below show what the one cuckoo clock which he totally destroyed looked like before he took it (on the right) and what he brought back to me (on the left).
