Their merchandise is extremely diverse, comprising just about anything you want across three buildings. The main building, where you'll find women's fashions, accessories, cosmetics, eyeglasses (including an optometrist), sportswear, children's wear, is topped with a must-see art glass dome, complete with a glass cat walk (maybe on the 4th floor?) that enables up close viewing of the dome from the inside. There are restaurants, rest rooms, and sweets shops in this building, too. Menswear has a building all to itself, as does the food court. Be careful here. There are so many delicious and appetizing foods offered in the food court building that you'll be tempted to overstuff. It would be just too easy to spend an entire day shopping at Galleries Lafayette.

At the entrance all the well known brands for bags and clothing. The area for Moynart Labubu was doing brisk business. A Labubu bag I looked at was 2300 euros!!! Soooo many stuff here. We went to the 6th floor to get souvenirs, cookies, and gifts to bring home. Our suitcases will be packed full. Great service, friendly staff. No pictures, the store was too crowded and I didn't want to get in trouble for taking pictures with no permission.

One of my friends wanted to go in to buy a plain black cardigan, which she was correct in thinking she would find, and we ended up spending like an hour shopping and browsing. The store was huge and well stocked, with tons of clothing and accessories, as well as an enormous pharmacy and cosmetics area. I thought about picking up some Caudalie and La Roche-Posay products, which were very cheap, but decided against it to avoid checking my bag going home. Joke was one me when I had to check it anyway, and barely made my flight because I hadn't accounted for that extra chunk of time. Buying a bunch of French skincare would've saved me a little bit of stress. I did get a French nasal spray on the recommendation of my friend who lives in Paris. I bought it for my perpetually congested husband, who was home watching the kids. It was the only souvenir I brought him from my trip (though I did get a Diptyque candle for the house), and I actually used it first when I caught a cold last month. I can at least attest that it worked quite well. The Monoprix was bustling, but check-out was easy and quick. I left with my nasal spray, and my friend did get her black cardigan. If you're looking to score some well priced French products, this place is definitely worth checking out. And if you're on the fence about that Caudalie Beauty Elixir, just go ahead and treat yourself.

Maybe it is the American in me, but this did not feel like any food court I have seen back home. There are only four stalls in total. Joe and The Juice, Pierre Marcolini, Yi The, and one more I did not catch. My son ordered the L'Amore (strawberry, raspberry blueberry tea) from Yi The. The juice was decent and I was very pleased to see they used fresh ingredients, but not every drink works with boba. This was one of those times where it just did not. My husband also bought a bottle of coke, which cost 3.50 euro, which is very expensive for any food Court standards Next door, we got our first macarons of the trip from Pierre Marcolini. We tried the Dubai macaron, the signature one, the Noisette, and the most delicious of them all, the Framboise. They were all delicious and not too sweet, which I really appreciated. I loved every bite, but my favorites were the raspberry macaron with dark chocolate filling and the hazelnut one called Noisette. It was definitely worth the stop.

I was little disappointed once inside as it wasn't quite as magical as expected, but it's a shopping area, so what do you expect. The biggest disappointment is that you have to pay to use the restrooms here. Ridiculous! I didn't have any cash and wasn't sure if I'd be able to use a card, so I had to leave. There was a long line of people trying to use the bathrooms, so they must make a nice chunk of change from this. But quite stressful when you would expect a restroom especially for how large this place is.

I do have a few of their SLGs. This time, it's a shopping experience for my sister and she found her splurge gifts. Happy for her bc what's a Paris trip w/o gifts? lol The selection is amazing, but being the flagship... some small items were out of stock, especially new drops and in popular colors. You get better prices here in Paris than at home, the VAT will add to that saving. The service was amazing! I forgot his name but he was funny and charming. They will queue you up to the next sales associate and you just need to wait a few minutes, and get yourself a glass of sparkling water!

Store was busy so didn't mind waiting. Eventually the manager, Eury, came over and said I would be next. I thanked him and informed him I knew what I wanted and just needed to check out. A couple came in after us and suddenly we became next next. This obviously angered me. Apparently they're not interested in my business so I'll take it elsewhere. Guess the random couple who came in to try stuff on was more important than a guaranteed sale. When I asked Eury for his card he claimed not to have one. Not sure if this is the correct spelling of his name or not. I don't know if was dismissed for being an American, being dressed casually, or being black. Regardless it was not a good experience. Cela m'a évidemment énervé.

Jamie W and I made it a priority to visit Galeries Lafayette because of the famous Art Nouveau dome, which was indeed fabulous (review: https://yelp.to/XRXnKANd7b). We decided to visit Printemps as part of our rainy day itinerary because we figured it would be a good chunk of time where we could stay dry indoors. We were right, and the store was less crowded and easier to navigate than its direct competitor. We found ourselves at the charming Cafe Perche on the 7th floor, where we relaxed over rich 6,50€ Chocolate Chauds and delicious butter cookies (Photo 8). Afterward, we found ourselves on two different rooftop terraces, the first was a more contained space that provided immediate views of the area as well as the architectural detail. The second space was actually an entryway to a nice-looking restaurant (Le Picnic) but still provided glorious panoramic views for freeloaders like us. One floor down was an upscale food hall. Printemos has its own Art Deco-style dome, but it doesn't have the grandeur of Galeries Lafayette (Photo 5). However, if you are a serious shopper of luxury goods, I'd come here first to avoid the tourist stampede down the boulevard. RELATED - Exploring Paris?
