We were thrown quite a curve ball the day of my wedding in that due to a completely unforeseeable situation, our venue became unavailable. I work as a project manager and can admit I am a very hands-on and organized person. I originally did not plan to hire any additional planning or coordinating services but finally decided an extra pair of hands would be helpful. Even if everything had gone according to plan, Roberta & Shelby were SO much more than just the extra pair of hands I thought I needed. There was no way any of us could have predicted the last minute venue change, but Roberta & Shelby handled it flawlessly. Without them, no amount of my organization or planning could have pulled off our wedding the way they did. Roberta was incredibly professional. She notified me early on of the changes, but only after she had time to begin working out a new action plan. I appreciated being kept in the loop, but also appreciated that she didn't call me the second the news broke...informing me of problems without potential solutions to offer would have been extra stress I didn't need in that moment. Roberta & Shelby were also absolutely in sync with Park City Resort and all of my other vendors. The communication and coordination was excellent. Because they had both taken the time to get to know me and understand my vision in the weeks leading up to the wedding, they did an amazing job of recreating our decor in a new venue space. Everything was exactly how I would have liked to see it, even though I wasn't available to provide any input. The planning leading up to our wedding was also perfectly executed. Roberta & Shelby asked the right questions, ran with my ideas, and prompted me to think about different approaches when appropriate. Roberta & Shelby are both extremely capable and professional, but what makes them stand a part from other professionals in your field is how genuine they are. They genuinely wanted to make this wedding my dream wedding, and they went above and beyond at every turn. Roberta even offered to hold our guest's baby during dinner so the couple could enjoy their meal. Although this wasn't something I saw, at least 20 of my guests did notice and made a point to tell me how amazing the Hoopes team was! One service I really liked was their video coverage of the ceremony, speeches, and dances. We decided to forgo a videographer, and part of the Scarlet Oak package we chose included a stationary recording of the most intimate parts of the wedding. This alone was worth the price of their service. The photos we received were great, and we enjoyed them very much. I also must applaud their professionalism when dealing with our guests. Gathering our friends and family for photos was like herding cats, but they kept a smile on their faces the entire time and treated everyone with respect. Our only real problem was that we felt we were taken away from the reception for far too long. During our pre-wedding call with Bonnie, we went over which guests we wanted portraits with. We assumed these could all be taken during cocktail hour (we chose not to do a first look, so no photos besides the bride and bridesmaids were taken before the ceremony). In hindsight, perhaps that was unrealistic, but I wish Bonnie would have advised us otherwise. She also asked us during the call when we wanted to do our golden hour portraits of just the two of us. This was a strange question for me because, at any wedding where I had been a groomsman, the bride and groom did not do this. However, my wife liked the idea, and Bonnie assured me it would only take 10-15 minutes. This was not the case at all. After all the dances and speeches, we were ready to enjoy the night with our guests, but the photographers told us this was the time to go take our portraits. It took almost an hour to get them done, and although they came out great, we were extremely dismayed to lose that time with our guests. We could literally hear songs we had specifically requested from the DJ playing on the dance floor, and we didn't even get to enjoy them. It really took the wind out of our sails, and I wish we could have had that time back. By the time we returned, they wanted us to cut the cake, and we did that as quickly as we could. After those photos were finished, my wife and I looked at each other and headed straight to the dance floor to make up for lost time. If I could go back, I would have handled the photos very differently. As previously mentioned, some of our friends and family did not make it easy for the crew to knock out photos quickly during cocktail hour, but I would have gathered our parents, siblings, and wedding party, gone to a secluded area away from the rest of the crowd, and knocked out all of the group portraits and our formals during cocktail hour. All other photos could have been taken casually at the reception. Would I recommend Scarlet Oak? Yes. They had great customer service, worked very hard at the event, and provided a great product. But be very clear with your expectations and what you want. We felt we clearly communicated our desire to enjoy our reception during the pre-wedding call, but it did not happen that way. Be a good communicator, make sure they are a good communicator, and this crew will be solid for your wedding.

With Braelynn, she wanted to make sure that no matter what we chose, we would have our fairytale wedding even during the pandemic. We were married at the Church of Dirt and had our reception in our family's backyard. Despite the drastic change in scenery, I wouldn't want our wedding any different because it was absolutely perfect down to every detail. Being naïve, I wasn't sure that we needed a wedding planner at first for a backyard (or any) wedding but I was completely wrong. When talking to Braelynn in our first meeting she already planned out who would be best to hire, how it would fit in to our budget, and went over fine details that I would have never thought of. Braelynn is very easy to talk to and loves to work with whatever request you have to make your wedding perfect. In addition to your own requests, she gives out much need advice on what would help that is often overlooked by the bride and groom. I can't stress enough how helpful Braelynn and her team were on our wedding day. Meredith has a good design eye, but the execution and organization we experienced fell far below what we expected for full-service planning. Once we switched planners, the difference was night and day - the process became smooth, proactive, and stress-free. Brides beware! The plant and decor options were good, I do with I had another smaller terrarium option. There were **70** people in our class. Far too many in my opinion. It was hard to walk around sometimes and we ended up in a smaller back room (which actually we were fine with due to sound levels). So go early if you want a table in the main room. They have a lot of people to help out. Everyone was super nice and helpful but we especially loved working with Susan! She was really informative, we appreciated her experience.

I appreciated their flexibility and "roll with it" attitude. We ended up with more food than we needed, and they were wonderful to package it all up and provide it to us. My favorite part of it all was that they took care of everything from setup to serving and cleanup. There was enough on my plate-literally-that I was so grateful not to have to worry about the food. There is still no change in their stance 3 weeks later. I have included the letter to my friends. Read it and feel the outrage. Where is the good faith and humanity for this business? There were no other options offered. The date is cemented for them and payment for no services is expected. The circumstances are completely out of the clients' control. This is bad business. Find a different venue.

As we moved through the process from original booking to event, we had to make a few changes along the way. I found the venue to be responsive. Eric always got back to me within 24-48 hours with clear answers to my questions. On the day of the event everything was ready for us and went smoothly. The change over from ceremony to reception went well. When we had needs or questions, we followed their prescribed policy with our day of event coordinator (provided by us) and Castle Park immediately met our needs and answered our questions. I would not hesitate to use them again.
