I'm afraid this place is not for me.
I've got a Groupon for a manicure + pedicure. As I arrive the owner asks if I want to get nail polish applied as well. I try to turn down the offer, she insists, even trying to get me to choose the semi-permanent one. Through all this she never mentions this involves an extra cost. Mind me, I know it will be, as I've read well my Groupon in advance. However, I personally don't appreciate when a client is not told explicitly "would you like this? It's a supplementary service to what is included in your voucher".
As I got a Groupon to try this new place out, I finally decide to go for the extra, and have regular nail polish, but only on my toenails. Well, the nail polish used was old and half dry, with the result that the colour could not be smoothly applied and it appears blotchy and irregular on my toenails. I got charged anyway for this.
A few other remarks:
- the room where I got my manicure and pedicure had an unclean floor and was cold
- as I got up from the waiting room to start the treatment, the owner stopped me and told me she had to check my groupon because I was using it on its last day of validity and she had to make 100% sure it was not expired. I just felt like a half-criminal who would be kicked out if her perfectly valid voucher was not working (for no reason other than a technical issue with Groupon I guess). I understand that profit is a businessman most important thing, but at least a minimum of client oriented interest wouldn't hurt. read more
