Earl came out to understand the issues with running electrical power to our two newly-installed bathroom ceiling exhaust fans. We wanted him to use some multi-function switches with dimmers, which we provided, and install a whole-house surge protector in our breaker box. He said they would try to avoid cutting holes in the drywall but if they had to, they'd keep it to a minimum and refer us to a good drywall worker. We hired him because we were confident he understood the job, his price was similar to the other company we talked to, and he was a licensed contractor with a lot of experience. Uri, John and Fernando came out to do all the work. They were careful, polite and quiet, especially considering all the climbing around they had to do in the attic. Everything we asked for was done. They had to cut a couple of small holes, but the drywall worker did a good job fixing them at a very reasonable price. read more

Kent Electrical Services - Light in ceiling exhaust fan - Electricians Near Me

John and Isaac came to my house to fix what I thought was a minor electrical outlet problem. It turned out that they had to go through all the rooms in my house to identify the one outlet that had burned wires, replace the outlet, which was in a "line" of outlets in a part of my house. All the other outlets connected to this one outlet didn't work because of this one outlet. My house is over 30 years old. Outlets wear out and if in the same circuit, will cause other outlets to not work. John and Isaac kept searching in each room until the problem was solved. They never gave up and I appreciate greatly their perseverance. I WILL DEFINITELY bring back Kent Electrical Services to update the rest of the outlets in my house that need updating!! Thanks again John and Isaac!!! read more

After a recommendation from a neighbor, I scheduled to have my electrical panel upgraded with Kent Electrical. Earl performed the initial walk through and was very kind, honest, knowledgeable, professional, and reasonably priced. While waiting for all the permitting and SDGE scheduling, I also decided to have a bathroom exhaust fan installed, an exhaust fan replaced, and three ceiling fans installed. I've been incredibly pleased with all electrical work completed. The day of the panel upgrade, Earl had four men working on our project to ensure it was completed in a timely manner. John and the guys were always kind, professional, and did a great job. I highly recommend Kent Electrical for any and all electrical needs! read more

Kent installed an undersink always on receptacle for a undersink water heater. Very knowledgeable and even teaches young people in electrician work. I was really worried about holes in walls and such but they brought the wire down the wall under the cabinet, up high behind drawers. Very neat and clean, brought their own vacuum, battery powered to keep things clean. Then did a major cleanup after. Before retirement I managed a 200K ft. manufacturing site and had experience with contractors. You won't go wrong with Kent. read more

Kent and his team installed 5 ceiling fans back in Nov 2024. Four out of five fans ended up having issues, mainly noise because the hardware was not tightened. One fan I had to get a replacement and was charged almost twice what I initially paid for labor because of the small job. I had hoped that Kent would have honored the original fee for a returning customer but he didn't. Recently, another fan stopped working and Kent sent his techs to try to fix. The guys said everything was fine and the motor must be defective. The manufacturer sent me a new fan. When I called Kent to come back and honor what I paid last time for labor he said he'd think about it and get back to me. Well that was almost a month ago and Kent never got back to me. I ended up hiring another licensed electrician who not only has more availability, but the quote was significantly lower and the actual electrician came out. He said the problem was the fan needed to be reset and he fixed the fan in 10 min by reprogramming it. I really am starting to wonder if there is lack of experience on Kent's team or they intentionally did a bad job so I would have to pay more in the future for additional work. I cannot recommend this company and am very disappointed in the recent lack of service. The techs are nice but maybe not the most experienced. read more

great service! this was an emergency situation were all breakers were done. They showed up and immediately diagnosed the issue and fixed it! AGAIN. Cannot thank them enough! Will be using them for future projects read more

Earl and his team replaced an outdated electrical outlet for our ceiling fan and noticed that we didn't have the correct installation for the fan itself. They were able to quickly replace the fan box and get it installed properly! And as a bonus, his team member was able to complete some dry wall work we needed. Will definitely use them in the future. read more

Clean, attention to detail, quality work, and ethical! Kent Electrical Services helped install custom lighting, added outlets, and added an extra switch from his recommendation. Great idea, TY! We know... "You get what you pay for!" There are some great contractors and there are some horrible contractors. My 200 AMP panel needed to be addressed -- several off-brand breakers faulted. I called Earl because he did work at my parents house. He was on time and professional. I was in a bind because several of the breakers burned out and caused major damage to the panel. We looked at several scenarios of upgrading the panel for the future and sourcing the immediate problem. Earl stayed in communication and gave me several paths from which to take. He quoted me the different prices per the scenarios -- he ended up being able to provide a complete fix for far lower price. If you need an honest guy -- he's your guy. He was quite helpful -- AND he's a distinguished wounded veteran -- the guy is a class act! read more

Kent electric came today to quote a job for pendant lighting. They were able to provide a reasonable quote and do the work right on the spot. While he was here, I had questions for Victor regarding other small projects. He was able to give me honest feedback about what I could handle myself, and an idea on cost for items I'd need a professional for. Their work was clean, fast, and came out great. Couldn't be happier! read more

Excellent customer service met with a high level of knowledge and safe! A great company to use for future projects.

Kent Electrical is the best! Super professional, reasonably priced, and responsive. I'm so glad I use them. The technician completed all work same day and thoroughly cleaned the area afterwards which I did not expect. I 100% recommend them and try to refer them whenever I can. If you have any electrical needs this is the place to start. read more

Scheduled with Kent, no one showed up. When I called Samantha at the office, she was unaware. She called back and stated they were not coming. I drove 2 hours to my new house for this. If they cannot meet for a quote how can they be trusted to do the work? read more

No return phone call. I initiated contact for this business from another site. A few days later I was contacted and I gave a description of the very simple job I needed completed. I was told I was going to be contacted with a quote and possible scheduling. This never happened. I hired another company. read more

Had a new ceiling fan and bathroom lighting fixtures installed. The price was reasonable, much lower that my other estimates, the electrition was punctual, quick, very personable, and cleaned up after completing the job. I would highly recommend this company! read more

We're doing mainly a kitchen upgrade but had some other things done in the house. Matt and his team were here two times to do pre- and post-work based on what we were having done. What impressed us the most was that Matt was around A LOT watching his team, making recommendations, ensuring their safety, etc. He also made recommendations if we weren't understanding something. Some contractors drop off the team and don't return. Not in this case. They are a Veteran owned business and also offered us a military discount (we are both retirees). Thanks Kent Electric! You're our go-to electricians in the future! read more

I needed a garage rewired and walked the job with Daniel in detail. He quoted me 6 hours of labor in total. On the day the crew had no idea what to expect and had not been given any information about the job. They took 10.5 hours and the final bill was 75% more than the quote. I appreciate that things change on a job, but nothing came up in the work that wasn't discussed or included in the quote. I was very disappointed with the process and the extra cost. I have given 2 stars because the quality of the work was good, and they cleaned up well. Though the senior on the job spent a good amount of time taking smoke breaks. Overall I would not use Kent again as I feel like low balled the quote to get the work. read more

These guys know what they are doing and they are vets. Let's help the small business owners. They installed a new ceiling fan and electrical outlet for an outdoor fountain. Made a huge difference in our summer. Go with Kent! He's a member of the Vista Chamber of Commerce after all. read more

Earl Kent and his team Vincent and Todd did a fantastic job installing 2 chandeliers on 25 foot ceilings! They were exactly on time and even finished earlier than the projected time. They used appropriate covering to protect floors, etc... They paid attention to details such as polishing the crystals when hanging my 2 chandeliers! They also cleaned up after themselves so as not to leave a mess behind. Overall they did an absolutely excellent job and they were so pleasant to work with...I highly recommend them!! read more

Came quickly to do an inspection of a new house we purchased and stated they would provide an estimate for the cost for upgrades, including a charger for our electric vehicle. A week later we never received an estimate and the electrician who came out had no recollection of us at all. One of our electrical outlets blew from attempting to charge our car, we notified them and they said our request was marked "urgent" but another week has passed and zero response or return calls from them. Don't waste your time. read more

Speaking on behalf on our electrician, whose name is also Vincent, he was very helpful from the start. His boss kept me informed over the phone on their status, Vincent was showed me exactly what he was troubleshooting when he showed up and fixed my electrical issues in a reasonable and affordable amount of time. He was very easy to talk to and friendly as could be. Would definitely recommend him if you could. Wouldn't mind having a beer with the guy honestly lol read more
