This has been the most reliable and trustworthy auto repair shop I have encountered in my (60 year) life. I have been coming to Roberto since he took over auto repair at this Shell Station. I started with regular maintenance on my Toyota Camry, where my vehicle was carefully looked over and future problem areas identified. Costs have always been much lower than at competitors. The one time I didn't keep up on servicing, my brakes needed replacing. Roberto repaired my brakes quickly - same day service- at extremely reasonable cost. Three years later - I make sure I maintain regular servicing - with minimal cost. I can't say enough about the superior service here. As a woman who depends on service that makes sure I don't find myself broken down on the side of the rode, I feel safe that I can rely on Roberto to do the right thing at an extremely reasonable price. Had a MD state inspection done here for a very reasonable price. They're currently starting at $59, $10 less than anywhere else I've seen. The car needed some battery cleaning (which my mechanic had also done for me a month ago so I know they weren't making stuff up), and a small bulb. Even after realizing they needed to remove my whole bumper to replace the light, the owner was willing to stick with the price he quoted me before knowing the extra labor would be involved. Friendly attendant, timely and communicative mechanics, and an owner that cares more about the customer than $20 bucks. Pretty good deal all around - and...there's MVA express right across the street if you want to get two things done at once and avoid the wasteland of human potential known as the MD MVA. read more

I used this station for MD State Inspection: Clean bill of health on my relatively new car, but the technician transcribed the VIN number incorrectly on the Inspection Certificate -- resulted in wasted visit with MVA -- this should not happen at a place specializing in State Inspections ! ! ! read more

Just recently got my MD inspection done here for $90 freaking certificate. What they did to my car?!NOTHING! The lady said that it will take like about 2-3 hours to finish. So I waited at chipotle across the street so I can watch my car and eat lunch at the same time. 2 hours passed my car still parked where it was, they didn't moved it at ALL. So I kept watching them do other car. I called them after 2 and half hour. Pretending that I can't see my car, so I ask the lady on the phone if my car is almost ready? Guess what she said?! She said that in 30 minutes it will be done. What the heck! My car was still in the place where I parked. I hang up and walked to the place "I said oh I thought my car is almost done". And why is it still in the place where I parked it. The mechanics came and grab the key and started moving my car inside for service. Few fucking minutes later probably 10 minutes. NO Lie! I was watching them in the camera inside the gas station so I can see if they're really working on it, what he did was just check my VIN number and fill up the forms. Mechanics came in, He said my car had a low mileages and there's no problem . I passed the inspection. That time I was really pissed off i just paid, got the inspection certificate and walked away. And I told myself I will not fight with y'all here but I will tell the people on Yelp that this place is a waste of money. DO NOT TRUST this place to get a something done to your car. I see the some of the reviews dinging this place for MD State Inspection waits. A state inspection? Find another shop that pushes paper for the state. That is not what a mechanic shop is for. These people fix cars! And they do it well. Go somewhere else for State Inspection, if you want your car repaired go here. I have brought in 3 different cars in over the last 3 plus years and they have done a very good job in repairing them and their estimates were always close to what was originally quoted. Has everything been perfect, no. But the two times I had a minor issues with any of the work they took care of it and stood by the work in a very professional manner. This is what matters most when it comes to complex systems in cars and building a business relationship with a mechanic shop. For example, they fixed an ABS issue on my SUV that one of their competitors charged me $1,200 to fix but did not and then did not again when I brought back. When I brought it to their shop their mechanic Yony did fix it, no problem, and for nearly less then half the cost of the original repair. I have experienced such success here that I know bring my mother-in-laws car here down from Baltimore. I have worked with many garages over the last 30 years. I can wrench my own cars and have been in car clubs too, so I am an educated consumer and here is what I like about this shop and the folks that work there. They are personable, they understand cars, and are honest. They have collaborated with me on repairs, finding parts, looking at ways to save money and plan out future work. This is what matters in looking for a shop. I have complete trust in them as mechanics and as people worthy of doing business with. I recommend them in good faith. read more

I always get gas at this Shell. In fact, I go out of my way to get the same gas from the same place. They always pre-authorize my card $1.00. Today the pump pre-authorized my card and no gas. I went to a second pump and the same thing occurred. I went inside and told the cashier. Per the cashier, "we're out of regular gas". I told him you need a sign saying that. It was not until I drove away and checked my AmEx that I saw that Shell had pre-authorized my card for $125.00 each time. I turned around and spoke to the cashier who could have cared less. Instead, he wanted to tell me how they do not get their money for several days. They refused to reverse the charge and instead I'm having to wait for it to fall off. I will not be going to this Shell anymore. read more

The guys here are great! Roberto has fixed my quirky 2003 Volvo V40 twice for odd problems that stumped other folks. The rates were very good and he provided a helpful explanation each time. Where to begin? I brought my manual Infiniti here to have a new clutch put in. I was quoted $1,200. It seemed kind of expensive but it needed to be done so I agreed and left my car with the shop. Fast forward almost two weeks and I was still waiting for the car to be ready. Turns out the parts the mechanic ordered didn't fit my car so he had to reorder new ones. This should have been the first sign he didn't know what he was doing. The correct parts finally arrived and he put the new clutch in and I cam to pick up my car, the final bill jumped up to $1,400 but I was given no explanation as to why. I took my car and immediately noticed it was not driving right. After about a week the car struggled to shift into gear and the clutch had to be pulled back up manually after every depression. When I called the shop I was told that the part must have been back and they would charge me another $1,400 to put in a new one. This goes against the one year warranty they previously said the new parts came with. I refused and took it to a different mechanic down the street. When he opened the car up he said the clutch hadn't been put in right and was missing a couple of things such as the spring for the pedal. He quoted me $800 to do the whole job over again. He was able to order the new clutch directly from Infiniti for $400 and would charge me the same amount for labor. That would mean the mechanic at Shell charged me $1000 in labor just to do it wrong. If he did not know how to work on my car then he should have told me to take it elsewhere from the beginning. Now I am out $1,400 and the Shell will not even take my calls! They are crooks at this location! Do not take your car to them! read more
