Rat damage
Ben D.

New ownership beware. Rats ate my car up!! Take photos before they work on your engine. Missing hardware and broken brackets. My car was in and out of the shop after a technician broke several items, and forgot to reconnect the AC. My $600 5 day repair turned into a month in the shop coming back 3 times, ending with almost $2K bill at the end. Then rat's damaged my kids car seat that my wife didn't discover till our kid was jumping around in the rat poop all over the back seat. I understand sometimes a new/training mechanic can fail and be fired but the insult to injury was having to spend time on 4 extra trips, one night filling/ cleaning oil in what was originally a small leak, to then cleaning out all the rat poop and sanitizing the car.

New brakes job thank you.

If you are looking for an honest, efficient, and affordable transmission shop, go to Miramar…read moreTransmission. I called five top-rated local shops, and they were the only ones willing to give me a detailed breakdown and quote over the phone using my existing Nissan diagnostics. They handled a transmission and front drive axle replacement on my 2013 Nissan Rogue, and a transmission fluid drain/refill with both new filters on my 2016 Nissan Rogue. Why they stand out: Excellent Pricing: They beat the dealership dramatically and were cheaper than other independent shops. Amazing Team: Bryce was incredibly helpful, looked into specific fluid requirements (NS-2 vs. NS-3) for me, and honored AAA discounts. Great Environment: The shop is highly organized, energetic, and professional, yet has a welcoming "family" vibe in the evening. Perks: They provided a free shuttle service (shoutout to Jordan!). The cars are driving beautifully so far. Highly recommended!

Why the two stars because what they did for my other cars transmission was great, They went above and beyond. They actually saved our cars's life as it were. Unfortunately, there is no way I would tell anyone to go there outside of transmission issues. Specifically, if your transmission is still under warranty from the dealership for the manufacturer yes bring it here. There previous work was so stellar that I'm still shocked but as true will all. All good things come to an end. Time , greed, no longer looking out for your people and Just like Rome, this place has fallen.. If you're on the fence, keep looking around you will a place. If you have been bringing your car back over and over again it is time to cut bait.

I've been coming to Mr Auto since last year and I'm very happy with their service and…read moreattentiveness. I came in for my 2007 Acura MDX. I was having issues where my car wouldn't start or the battery kept dying. Which didn't make sense since I would change for a new battery and it would keep happening. So when I was looking for a body shop to take care of my car, Mr Auto was one of the 3 locations I was looking at. The biggest reason I picked this location was because of the reviews and the response the owner or mechanics had for the customers. For the low star reviews, I liked how the responses to the customers were factually. Most reviews are based on emotion without any backing. So it was interesting to see the owner/ mechanics would bring up conversations, numbers and factual information. That told me they were attentive and knew what they were talking about. So I took my car there, it was a month long process because it was hard to figure out what was going on. It was an unusual situation. After coming back and forth for weeks, they were nice to have me keep my car there without extra charge because some situations happened only when I was driving and they couldn't trigger any of the issues so they thought it would be best to keep it. They only charged me the diagnosis price and finally after a month, we were able to figure out and it was such a simple small thing that cost little to nothing and completely fixed my issue. Since then, I come here for simple oil changes, because I can trust them. I know they take the time and don't rush. Actually during that month long situation, my battery died again and I was able to jump start it, but I had a smog check. Luckily I told the smog check place what happened and they didn't test it because it would fail since the car had to be driven for at least 50-80 miles. So I drove around San Diego and called Mr Auto and they told me to come in and they would double check my car to make sure it was good to go for the Smog check. Another extra step they did for me. It was awesome. They definitely make you feel safe and comfortable.

I'm driving the car and I'm life is on the line. Can't trust them 100%. I mean it is a decent spot, nice guys, and a decent price but the work makes me worry. Maybe those guys works too much and forget about tighten things back up. Sorry for the review but I had to be honest. Hope it gets better.

I was hesitant to give a 3-star review. I did quite a bit of research to find this place, which has…read morepredominantly good reviews. It is true that Ryan is easy to work with, and I've had my car's oil changed here for two years. I hoped I could rely on Ryan for all my car services and repairs. However, the diagnostic process was disappointing. My car had the "check emission system" warning in April, and I visited the dealership in May. They ruled out a fuel injector issue (which would be covered by Honda if it malfunctioned) and cleared the code. I informed Ryan of this background during a previous visit, hoping he could diagnose the real cause when the warning popped up again in September. It was quite disappointing when he just read the code and told me that Honda might cover it if it was a fuel injector issue. I already knew that and had done that in May! Because the code was cleared, I had to wait until November when the same warning showed up again. At that point, the dealership said it was an inefficient catalytic converter and quoted $$$$ to replace it. The key is, the catalytic converter was still under the 8-year warranty in September. Had Ryan diagnosed the issue then, I could have taken it to the dealership directly for a warranty repair. It's perhaps unfair to blame Ryan for the warranty situation, as he might not have been aware of it. But how hard is it to diagnose the issue? After the dealer told me to replace the catalytic converter, I did some research and found that narrowing down the cause shouldn't take much time. I even purchased an OBDII reader to confirm the catalytic converter issue myself: idle the car for 10 minutes and then check the voltage of downstream O2 sensors. Ryan could do even more, like inspecting the O2 sensor, as he has a lifter. For $199, I'm not asking too much for a diagnosis. It would have only taken him about 20 minutes of work to provide the customer with more information than what we can get for free from AutoZone or O'Reilly.
