I booked an appointment here for the first time and chose a Top Stylist because I wanted to make…read moresure I was in good hands. Before starting, the stylist and I spent about 5-10 minutes discussing exactly what I wanted, as well as the texture of my hair. My hair is naturally very curly and frizzy, and I explained that I wanted long layers and face-framing pieces while keeping the majority of my length. I specifically told her that I don't typically style my hair, so I needed the layers to remain long enough for me to wear my hair naturally and for the overall length to stay past my shoulders. She seemed to completely understand what I was asking for and agreed with me. Once she started cutting, I noticed that she was taking significantly more length off than I had expected. I tried to stay calm throughout the appointment, but I did express my concern and said, "Wow, it's really short." At that point, I was honestly in shock. She tried to reassure me by saying that maybe I just wasn't used to seeing myself with shorter hair, but I knew that wasn't what I had asked for. We had specifically discussed keeping my length and doing long layers, yet I left with my hair much shorter than I wanted and with noticeably choppier layers. I did reach out to a manager afterward, and I want to acknowledge that they were very professional and completely refunded me for the service, which I appreciated. I'm writing this review because I was told the situation was essentially due to miscommunication and that I should have brought in a reference photo. While I understand that photos can certainly be helpful, I personally don't feel that a reference photo should be necessary when you spend 5-10 minutes clearly communicating with a professional stylist about the length and type of haircut you want. The stylist, Tatiana, was very kind, and this review is not meant to attack her personally. I'm simply very confused about how a conversation about keeping my length, having long layers, and wearing my hair naturally resulted in my hair being cut significantly shorter with choppier layers. My biggest takeaway from this experience is that if you are getting even a simple trim or long layers, bring a reference photo--even if you feel like you've clearly explained what you want. I would hate for someone else to have the same experience I did. I shared photos of what my hair looked like before and what it looks like now.

That convenience makes such a difference for me. The staff is always friendly, welcoming, and punctual. The styling chairs are comfortable, which is a huge plus. My only complaint inside the salon is the waiting area. The bench isn't very comfortable, so it's not much fun for my husband when he waits for me. On my last visit, Meredith was my stylist, and she was fantastic. She really listened to what I wanted, our conversation was easy and enjoyable, and my hair turned out exactly how I hoped. I'll definitely be requesting her from now on! My only other complaint is the location. I have to drive all the way to Cedar Park or South Austin since they closed their north location. I really hope they reopen one in North Austin, just not at The Domain. Parking in garages down the street is a hassle, especially when there are much more convenient locations available.

I had…read morerecently cut my hair to a length I'm still getting used to styling, so I was really looking forward to being pampered and learning a few style tips in the process. I booked online and even added the deep conditioning treatment and head massage because I wanted the full experience. Unfortunately, the experience fell well short of my expectations. When I arrived, there was no greeting or welcome, just someone eventually looking up to check me in. The waiting benches were also surprisingly uncomfortable, with the window ledges digging into my back. Once I was taken back, there was almost no communication. No "Is this your first time here?", no explanation of the process, no confirmation of the services I'd booked, and not even a quick check that the water temperature was comfortable. I also wasn't turned toward the mirror during the service, so I couldn't even see what was being done. The salon was unusually quiet overall, with very little interaction between stylists and clients, which made the atmosphere feel a bit impersonal. To make matters worse, my stylist realized only at checkout that she had forgotten to perform both of the add-on services I had paid for. She did issue me a credit after speaking with her manager, but since I had booked those services specifically for that visit, a future credit didn't really make up for the missed experience. The blowout itself was perfectly fine, but that's only part of why people book appointments like this. Most people can dry their own hair at home; the value is in feeling cared for, relaxed, and a little spoiled. I walked in excited for a special treat after a difficult few weeks and walked out feeling more disappointed than refreshed.
