They also cut the wrong slab for my countertops and refused to fix the mistake and were very unprofessional handling the entire situation. We had all of our carpet and tile on the majority of our main floor changed to white oak hardwoods about two years ago. We weren't ready to tackle the stairs at that time but decided this summer it was time. Mark Perschau from Kenny's was awesome, again, coming to measure and bid the job. Installers were scheduled for the oak treads and then the carpet installers followed behind for the loft and basement stairs. They returned to install the runner and during all of the jobs, the installers worked meticulously to match the patterns in the carpet and make sure all edges were beautifully finished. The stair runner has a great padding and so they just look luxurious. Mark checked progress throughout and Pam came out several times to check the progress, as well. We just had a great experience from start to finish, again! We've used Kenny's for granite and backsplash tile, as well and were also happy from start to finish with this precious jobs. Kenny's did come to sand and reseal my wood floors back in 2012. This time turned out better; however, there are still spots on the floor where pieces of paintbrush bristle, hair, and dust were sealed into the floor, the beef jerky is gone. Recently, in 2014, Kenny's reached out to try to provide us with a better experience. As part of this, they came to our home to repair a chip in our existing granite and replace some non-grantie counters with granite. Alvaro performed the repair. He was knowledgeable, efficient, and and considerate of our home. Our experience this time has been much better than our first experience. Our main point of contact has been polite and prompt to respond to our inquires and Alvaro did a great job on the repair. read more

Tiffany Rupp was helpful when picking out tile and grout and it was easy to schedule an appointment with her in the showroom. Mark Perschau was responsive and was able to recommend a handyman and plumber who did the rest of the work (beyond his team's tile install). Spent a year's salary for some on a complete rip out and replace hardwood job. One year later, they look horrible!!!! We told them we had little kids and needed something durable, so they had us spend thousands to upgrade to hickory and they look 40 years old already. Has to be a shotty poly/topcoat/finish job, because we baby these floors like no other since they were a huge investment. I cringe at what we'll do if we get transferred and have to sell this house. My boyfriend purchased granite countertops and a backsplash to be installed in our kitchen. Let me tell you it has been a journey so far. The night I got home I noticed the hole cut into our granite was cut slightly off center of where our new sink should go above our lower cabinets. Not completely obvious, but one of those things that I could tell. Next is the backsplash. The whole reason we had professionals install it was to have it done right. Here is what you will get from the professionals at Kenny's Tile. Attempt #1: They left us leaving the edges of the tile clipped and jagged instead of smooth, messy grout work, and completely uneven lines. Parts of the backsplash are sunken in further than others. We called them back said it was unacceptable and they can back to fix it. Attempt #2: They came in and fixed several places, but then left us with 3-4 sections of cracked or chipped tiles and the backsplash is still sunken in in several places. I never write bad reviews. But I want people to honestly think about this one. This was our first home Reno project ever, and we spent a lot of money expecting a high quality renovation and I have been let down tremendously. I spend a lot of time in my kitchen, and now when I'm in my kitchen, I just get sad knowing we trusted someone to do it right and take the time and care, and it just wasn't. read more

I had written a review about Kenny's Tile a few years back, but apparently it disappeared since then. I felt so strongly about the bad job that was done, I was compelled to re-post my experience to warn others. Our old kitchen floor was torn out and then tiled by Kenny's Tile in 2014. It was a completely horrible experience. The wrong color of grout was used. There was also a very noticeable film left on the floor that took at least 4-5 appointments to get rid of. We were actually accused of using the wrong cleaning agent, which ended up being an excuse to cover up their mistake. After complaining enough and standing our ground, we were finally told the film was left over residue from the poly grout they had used. Late to show a few times, and on no-call-no-show another time. Very frustrating and very expensive experience. Stay away. read more

I bought a little fixer upper house and hired Kenny's Tile for new carpet in my bedrooms and on my staircase, hardwoods throughout my first level, a new backsplash in my bathrooms and kitchen, and granite countertops in my bathrooms. The Kenny's guys exceeded my expectations with their professionalism and knowledge. They arrived early each morning, and their work areas were cleaned spotless every night before they left. They were all guys I would trust working in my house without me being home. I am very happy with the Kenny's Tile workers and the company's wide selections and options - I will only use Kenny's for any future renovation. A few other gold stars for Kenny's ... 1- After my renovations were done, we had a big rain storm in Lees Summit and water got into my basement soaking my new carpet. Kenny's was able to quickly get me on the schedule. They rolled my carpet up for me, cleaned and dried up the water mess, and even got rid of the ruined carpet. This was such a relief. I also ended up having Kenny's tile my basement floors and shower, and they did a beautiful job on this too. 2- My dog scratched at the carpet/hardwood line on both my upstairs bedrooms. Kenny's sent out a carpet guy that day who stretched my carpet for me in less than 10 minutes. I have had several family members, my mom, dad, brother, uncle, and friends who have also used Kenny's Tile and were very pleased with everything - not one complaint. My dad is a builder, and he uses Kenny's for his top jobs. He is now building houses in Arkansas and still uses Kenny's. The travel fees are worth it to him and his home owners just to have the peace of mind that their projects will be done with the utmost quality in all aspects that you get when you use Kenny's. Built out our condo in downtown KCMO a few years ago. Kenny's did carpet, hardwood, and tile throughout. Several weeks ago sump pump failed and basement bedroom took on water. My wife and I drove from KCMO to Grandview on a Saturday to buy carpet. Told by a poorly trained salesperson that we had to come back during the week and work with our original design rep!! We happen to have jobs during week. Drove to Suburban in downtown OP, bought carpet, in and out in 30 mins. Next time Kenny has to pay the mortgage on his two big homes at Lake Lotawana he can thank his sales person because I bet we aren't the only ones that quit doing business there. read more

If I would give them ZERO stars I could. They will not take responsibility for their mistakes. They will blame you the customer. They sent me their return policy, two months after the purchase. I have to have Chase Credit Card services dealing with this situation because they refuse to admit they made a mistake. Don't leave the store with everything you want in writing. Great company to work with. My wife and I had our masterbath and bedroom renovated and Mark with Kenny's Tile made it so easy. From picking out the tile and wood tocompletion of the work.. Mark is easy to reach and responds to any questions we had. Most of the time we were out of town and felt very comfortable in allowing Mark and his Team to enter our home to do the work. Last fall I worked with Kenny's Tile for a new marble countertop. They were so great to work with; I went ahead with Kenny's for a new Brazilian Cherry wood floor in our kitchen and family room. It was completed in early December, and I have now spent more than 2 months, with 3 different people, trying to get the installation/finish problems fixed. My latest bout includes working with John--their flooring manager--to repair/buff and apply urethane to a small portion of the floor. The installer came out in early January to do the work, installed 2 pieces of wood, stained it the wrong color, took the rest of the remaining wood I had (without my permission,) left and never returned to apply urethane or fix the rest of the floor. I have texted and called John and he refuses to respond, so clearly he has no intention of finishing the work. The 2X2 inserts were not what I ordered. I was told me when I made this order that there were limited tiles in this color, but they would set them aside for me once I confirmed the order. I ordered right away, they were not set aside and unavailable. This is a focal point in the shower. Second the 4X4 tile inserts were suppose to be metal bronze, not just bronze. Another focal point installed with the wrong tile. Third, I said several times I did not want the tile enhanced. The tile was enhanced. Finally the sink was to be cream and not white. The shower is attractive, just not what I wanted or ordered. I emailed the individual in charge of the install and have not heard back. read more

I worked with Kenny's Tile to remove the carpet in two rooms and replace with wood floors. In addition, they laced this into my existing wood floors and stained and finished the entire project. They estimated 5-days and it only took 4-days. The quality of work and the diligence of the installation/finish employees was superb! I am beyond thrilled with the final product. Not happy with Kenny's tile. New Brazillian cherry floor with hair and bristle in the floor. Swirls from sanding. They got stain on our while woodwork. Didn't measure correctly. Brought the cord around that was cheap and flimsy, warped. They were going to put it down and then paint it white on top of our dark stained floor! We were told we were getting cord around that matched our stained floor. We're calling them back, but in the midst of all of this, my mother passed away. Very disappointed! Don't want to go through another sanding and staining. read more

Steer clear of this company!!!! We signed a contract to have them tile our laundry room and half bath as part of a remodeling project. They removed the old linoleum and installed the subfloor and half of the tile and then left. They took all remaining tile with them and left all the torn out linoleum in our yard. We repeatedly tried to contact them via phone, email, and text but they refused to respond. After two weeks of trying to contact them, we were fed up needing to go to the laundry mat to do our laundry. We finally had to purchase the remaining tile to finish the project and had another company finish the job. Still, to this day we have not gotten a reason why they decided to pull all the materials and workers off our job and breach their own contract. It's impossible to resolve anything if one side refuses to communicate. read more

Jeff was very professional, prompt and helpful both in helping us to select a good product and then in monitoring the installation. I am frustrated with their follow up to correct problems. The first visit fixed caulking that was missed in the initial job. Nice job. But the sealant on our granite is actually dissolving in many spots as well as a long thin scratch in the granite. I cannot get anyone to return my calls..for months. I have used all the cleaning products they recommended and nothing is working. I asked about specific care, and followed their suggestions. After spending close to $10,000 with them, you would think they would want to keep customers happy. I was told one reason to choose them for services was because they were responsible for their work. I read the previously written reviews for Kenny's and all I can say is there must have been some changes since last year, because we had a terrific experience with all those who worked with us in and out of our home. I'd rank Kenny's a 4.5 if the stars would allow me. Audrianna, a Kenny's interior designer par excellence, was extremely invaluable to us as she helped us in determining our choices of tile, backsplash, granite countertops and carpet. She gave us superb direction from Day 1 when we had NO idea where to start and patiently walked with us each step of the way. Mark, our project manager, was also top notch. He was always kind and respectful, prompt in answering phone calls, "on it" if we encountered concerns or problems, and kept us informed of timelines. We so appreciated him, too. From the men who expertly did our tile and backsplash (can I emphasize beautiful!) to the various men who laid our new and refinished our old hardwood and those who came in to finish the job (we had a couple of hardwood areas that needed some touch-up, but nothing like I read in the previous reviews), to the father/son team who expertly laid our new carpet, we experienced craftsmen who obviously took pride in their work, were respectful, friendly and kind. Our only criticism is some of the workers could have done a better job in cleaning up after themselves at the end of the day/project. Besides that, we would recommend Kenny's any day of the week. Kenny's Tile is highly unprofessional and does not care about the consumer. They made multiple mistakes in the planning stages of our project that did not come to light until our third trip to their store to finalize a template layout for our project. All of our measurements for countertops were provided to Nancy (sales rep) on the first visit and unbeknownst to us, she made critical mistakes. They (management team) would not stand behind their mistakes: 1.Giving away a piece of our book end reserved granite 2. Allowing us to select a piece of granite on the first visit and plan our project around that piece of granite, even though it was too small for our project. Their solutions: 1. Select another piece of granite that was the same price (we live 2 hours away, so to take a sample home and re-work our whole project based on similar, yet different colors would not be a quick or easy undertaking). 2. Select another piece of granite that we knew would work based on color (we had already taken a sample of that home at an earlier visit) and pay 1000.00 more for our 2nd choice granite. We also found out on this finalizing visit that our backsplash installation was going to be approximately 1300.00 dollars more than estimated! We tried to contact Brad, the general manager by phone, but never were able to speak with him. The only communication we had from Brad, was that he was reading our emails and would talk with Nancy. We never heard from the owner (Tony) and we emailed him all of our correspondence with Brad and Nancy. We asked that Kenny's honor our original pricing and provided detailed information of their mistakes and received Kenny's response in an email: "After much consideration, the Management Team at Kenny's Tile has decided to refund your deposit in full. It is unfortunate that the Caravellas slab is four inches too short to make it work in the best visual direction. While the slabs can certainly still work, as we saw on Friday that does necessitate additional seams which are less desirable to you. " Who wants ADDITIONAL SEAMS and a LESS THAN DESIRABLE VISUAL DIRECTION when you are paying greater than 5,000 for countertops? I could have achieved a similar final product by piecing samples together. Kenny's does not stand behind their mistakes. If it is money out of their pocket, then they dismiss you. We invested 12 hours of driving, gas expenses and time off of work to finalize our project with Kenny's. We are thankful that we were refunded our deposit and after being treated so poorly, did not proceed with the installation phase. Kenny's may be a family owned business for over 50 years, but it has long lost it's quality, service and standard of excellence. I would highly recommend avoiding Kenny's Tile and Flooring at all costs. I had Kenny's tile come out to repair some cracks in the grout. I paid them $600. It's been a couple months and they look exactly like they did before the repairs cracked and missing grout. I've called six times and no one will return my call!!! read more

A few weeks later I called the office to ask for the estimate and was assured I would get a call back. I am still waiting......................I can't imagine working with them on this project. Workers do a good job on granite installation, repair and tile floor installation and repair but the office staff leave a lot to be desired. You can't get a worker to your house if the office staff can not return messages and I had to leave three messages over 10 days to get the right person on the phone, and she did not call me back, I kept calling her and she finally answered. read more

Kenny's Tile knowingly sold me defective tile for my basement remodel. They initially told me that it was a film that would come off with a product called Restore. It did not. When I requested that they refund my money, they said No, not a penny. I will never do business with Kenny's again. Buyer beware. read more
