She called her sister in Versailles but her recommendation of a past plumber she had used previously was closed for the weekend. So I did a search on Yelp first, skipping over a couple of plumbers with some not so good reviews and found Bluegrass advertised as being 24/7 and Shonda C.'s review listed first. She is in my friends list and I trust her reviews. I also saw photo's of the business owner and his family, plus some of his past work, indicating to me I was looking at an honest man. But to be sure, I utilized BBB for a background check and found zero complaints in the past year, an A+ rating and that they were BBB Accredited. So I gave them a call. Ron answered the phone at 7:52 am on a Saturday. This was a huge indicator to me I was going to be doing business with a good company. He told me he had one customer ahead of me but that he would be over between 11:30-12:30 and that he would call thirty minutes ahead of time to let me know he was on his way. He called me back at 10:26 am and arrived in 15 minutes. He assessed the work to be done, quoted a price, then left to pick up a new water heater and associated parts & pieces and arrived back around an hour later. I doubled checked with my sister, who owns five houses, on his quoted price and found he came in little bit less than her prediction. Ron and his son, who was helping him, installed a new water heater, and upgraded the water pipes and gas line, along with new valves on both, to meet today's codes. He completed the work in two and a half hours. We were completely 100% satisfied with the work, his timeliness, consideration of cleanliness and knowledge of his trade. Would not hesitate to call him again for any plumbing needs.

Two hours for a "master plumber" to install a kitchen faucet is egregious. The kicker is it probably only took 30-45 to install it, but I had to pay the extra 45 minutes for him to run to Lowe's to get parts (insert Hardee's breakfast biscuit here). What kind of "master plumber" doesn't have parts to install a kitchen faucet? So anyway, the install looks good, but as I need a plumber again to pressure test a gas line to a fireplace next week, I won't be using GRS Plumbing. P.S. When Courtney told me it was $90/hr and not a flat rate I kinda had the feeling this would happen, so when he got here I turned on my stopwatch on my phone and when I gave him my credit card to pay I showed him my phone which showed showed 1:48 minutes. And that's with him going shopping for over 40 minutes. So if you use GRS Plumbing, make sure to lube up because here comes a good screwing.
