My daughter is currently enrolled at Kenny dale KinderCare and our experience has been a positive one. She is happy there and looks forward to attending each and everyday, which means a lot to me as a parent. I have consistently seen staff members who are attentive, caring, and intentional about maintaining a clean environment, including regularly cleaning classrooms and toys. I would also like to sincerely thank the staff, especially Miss Ronna and Miss Jayme, for their dedication and care. After six months of my child attending this daycare (Kennydale Kindercare), I feel I have gained a thorough understanding of how this facility operates. As a concerned parent, I have made the decision to withdraw my child and enroll her elsewhere. I believe it is important to share the reasons behind this decision, as they reflect significant concerns regarding care and cleanliness. Key Concerns Toy Cleaning Practices Although the daycare claims that toys are wiped down after each use, I have repeatedly observed otherwise. On several occasions, I witnessed children putting toys in their mouths without those toys being cleaned afterward. Additionally, many toys I have handled felt sticky and had hair stuck to them, which raises serious hygiene concerns. Hand Washing Standards Proper hand washing is essential for preventing illness. While there is a sink in the classroom, I have noticed there is no soap available. Washing hands with water alone is insufficient to stop the spread of disease and infection. Communication Barriers On multiple evenings, there is only one caregiver present, which is understandable when fewer children remain. However, I have found it impossible to communicate about incidents or concerns because the caregiver does not speak English. This language barrier makes it extremely difficult to address important matters regarding my child's well-being. Frequent Illnesses Over the past six weeks, the daycare has experienced a concerning number of illnesses, including rotavirus, chickenpox, hand, foot, and mouth disease, and pinworms. My child has missed approximately one week out of every four due to these outbreaks. When I raised these concerns, I was told that "it's the same in every daycare." However, after contacting other local daycares (such as Kiddie Academy and Goddard), I found that they do not have similar issues. Lack of Professional Cleaning Unlike other daycares, your facility does not employ professional cleaners. Other centers have nightly professional cleaning routines, which help maintain a safe and sanitary environment for the children. Also, every time I picked her up from daycare, she had snot and other things all over her face, it doesn't appear that they pay attention and wipe it's not off their face while when I pick up my child from daycare from another facility, her face is always clean. As parents, we entrust our children's safety and well-being to daycare providers. Given these ongoing concerns, I could not continue to leave my child in this environment. I hope this feedback is taken seriously and leads to improvements for the benefit of all children in this daycare. read more

DANGER! Unsafe daycare center, and few staff who actually care. The heat we endured during this summer meant that the children spent more time outside in the sun and higher than normal temperatures. Staff were told about my child's temperature sensitivity, and normal need to stay hydrated. My child has their own water bottle. They would NOT allow them to self hydrate. When pressed about it staff would get evasive, or just outright lie to my face. The staff would demand new supplies rather than walk inside their own building and take from my child's stock (which I'd already provided). My child is now fearful of diaper changes because of their time as a "student" here. Not one of the staff there will make eye contact with me when I ask them about this. All of my 3 children attend Kennydale KinderCare with Ronna and Jayme, and I currently enrolled my newborn baby to start this fall. Ronna and Jayme are amazing directors with so much heart and a caring mindset. They care about the children and work with the parents. All the teachers are awesome. The teachers make an effort to engage the kids and develop them in a very individualized way. My children love going to daycare they are happy during drop-off and happy during pick-up. Highly recommend, we had a great experience here for the last 3 years and only have left due to a recent move. Center is conveniently located near the 405 highway, Starbucks, Mcdonald's in the same plaza. Ms. Ronna and Ms. Jayme the director and assistant director both run a tight and smooth sailing ship which we very much appreciate but always greet us with a smile on the way in and as we leave. My son started at Kennydale KinderCare in the infant room with Ms. Suzie and Ms. Gwen and we adore them. They are so caring, loving, and sweet and made it so much easier for us to leave our son in their care. We then moved up to the toddler room with Ms. Cinthia and preschool room with Ms. Ana and our son continued to thrive and learn. The classrooms are all open concept and have ample space for the kids. The playground outside is wonderful and the kids enjoy the time outdoors very much. There are also phonics and STEM additions that are available to add on to the preschool curriculum and my son learned a great deal despite only being enrolled in the extra class for a short time before we moved. We have now transitioned to a new KinderCare and I will say, each one is very different. We so miss everyone at Kennydale! read more

I definitely feel that the staff here is either hit or miss. I had a great experience in infant care but the next level up was night and day. Where do we start? Diapering: This was a learning curve for the employees but my child gets diaper rash if left in a dirty #2 diaper for too long. After 10 months of explaining to employees and the managers, the staff still sends him home with a red behind once a week or so. I have seen them change him and they are aggressive with their wiping. My child now cries anytime they are getting a change, home or at daycare. Also, I brought in Boogie Wipes because a staffer suggested it for face/nose. They still use Costco baby wipes on his face. A week after I told an employee that we had the special wipes, she wiped off my child's face again with a Costco wipe. Every day when my child gets to Kindercare they give a snack of saltines. WTF...why saltines? How is this nutritious? Injuries: I know that with the little kiddos injuries will and do occur. He has come home with two scabby knees and no accident form. The next day it was a head injury because another child grabbed mine off a bike and threw him to the ground. The staff NEVER has apologized or said they will watch better when I ask about injuries, whether or not it was reported. I get "accidents happen" or "I didn't see anything"and its frustrating. Of course whenever the kids are playing outside the two staff are always sitting on the play structure while children run around crying and falling over. Too much? Well, we left. Although we miss the infant teachers, the others may need more training. read more

Your children learn so much! It's clean and they always decorate for the season. They have a parent station set up for coffee and snacks. My daughter has been going to Kennydale Kindercare for almost 1 year now. My older children have attended other childcare centers and I also have back up childcare benefits through my job that allowed me to use other childcare centers around Seattle. With all my experiences I feel like I'm able to fairly compare and give a good review. Safety- I appreciate that you need a code to enter the childcare. This is now the standard, however some schools keep the same password or have a key fab for parents to enter. With the key fab anyone can enter the facility. Kennydale has changed the password since I've been here instead of just keeping the same one. Teachers- When I looked for quality teachers I look for teachers who are engaged with the children, patient,want to teach vs. need to teach, and listen and act on any concern I have. At Kennydale Kindercare I feel like my child's learning has been a partnership. They see my child in a completely different way and light than I do. They let her get messy and explore the world in ways that I forget about as a parent. One of the other things I love is that all the other teachers know my name and my child's!! They don't have my child in their room, but they show genuine interest and kindness towards every child and not just as a number. Facility- I see people cleaning! At the end of the day, I see vacuuming, toy cleaning etc. I love that my child has access to a water fountain in inside the room! My child loves the playground and is not bored. Education- I appreciate that they tell you what they plan to teach that month. My child is learning activities and topics that I never thought of. My child has grown so much and in many more ways than I could've helped with. One of the bonuses is the extra classes offered. On Tuesday Soccer shots comes to the center and you can sign your child up to participate. Working full time (and long commutes) limits opportunities for children to experience sports or extra experiences learning and I love that this center offers options so my kid isn't missing out. They even offer music classes, Spanish and more!! If I could change one thing about this facility it would be that they serve 1% milk when I prefer whole milk, preferably from Smith Brothers etc. Many parents have different views on fat contact in milk so I'm ok with this being the only thing that I don't favor. I just make sure I give my child the organic whole milk at home. I do like that they have milk alternatives though!! I'm thankful we have my child here and have another spot held in the infant room for next year!! If you bring your child here, you will definitely be able to go to work knowing your child is in good hands! read more

My son has attended the Kennydale KinderCare since he was four months old and our experience has been great. Kennydale KinderCare creates a supportive and safe environment for babies and young kids to learn and explore. My son has eczema, food allergies, and asthma, and I've never worried once about sending him to school. The staff is very attentive. I love the hours and that they provide meals and snacks. They have experienced a bit of turnover, but that may be normal for daycare centers. Either way, my son has adapted well and the staff all take extra care during times of change, whether that's changing classrooms or adding a new teacher. We love this center, and I would recommend it to anyone I know. We switched our son from another center, where he had experienced many behavioral issues. When we toured Kennydale Kindercare, Lanette (the Director) immediately put me at ease in knowing our son would be well taken care of, and that she and her staff would do as much as possible to assist him (and us). Since making the switch to their center, our son has not displayed any of his previous behaviors! The center is very welcoming. The rooms are clean and appealing. And the staff is amazing! Every encounter I've had with anyone there has been pleasant. I can tell that my son's teachers truly care about him as a person (which is really important to me). Not being from here we had no clue where to go for daycare. We had a list of over 100. Good, bad and nightmare. Some, our perceptive daughter grabbed me tight refusing to even get down. When we got here she pushed off, got down, started to play and was clearly at home. She went there from 18 months to kindergarten. At a private school entrance exam she tested far higher than all but one of her class. Now first grade she is still ahead of the pack, by far. The curriculum AND STAFF at KC Renton taught our daughter so much, her kindergarten teacher was surprised and impressed. We never had to worry about her care, nutrition, safety or learning. They communicated every day writing a record to let us know what she ate, when she slept, what she learned and if she got a boo boo. My daughter absolutely loved KC Renton. Never one day of, "I don't want to go". Not once. One guess where daughter number two goes. And she loves it too. All the kids look healthy, happy and involved. Never any smells, never any secrets, I've NEVER seen anything I thought, "hmmm". Never. Always something educational going on. I can't wait for number two to take that K test. I'll bet she gets as good if not higher. The only ding if there is one, it's not cheap. But we found out while looking what we could get for less, and it was just that- less. Much less. Thank you so much for giving a great headstart, a safe, clean, warm, positive environment for my children. What Lanette and her staff provide for my precious children is priceless. Our baby has been enrolled at the Kennydale KinderCrae since she was three months old, it is with great sadness that we have to move her from this location. Lanette and her staff have been consistently great to our child and as such getting her to go to "School" has never really been an issue, there are even times when she does not want to leave. I don't even know where to begin! I am so so thankful for this daycare! I was referred to Kennydale Kindercare from a friend about 4 years ago. The Director (Ronna) is simply the best! If I EVER have a question or a concern I know that I can bring it up to her and she always meets me with kindness and compassion. She works with me to provide the very best for my babies! Between my two kids, we have been through almost every level starting in infant to Kinder. Gwen and Susie are pure MAGIC... they love those babies so much! I knew my 5 month old was in good hands with them! Ms. Ana is just the greatest! She loves those rambunctious 3 year olds. Her patience and they way she connects with each kid... really makes each of them feel so special! My oldest still talks about how much he loves Ms. Ana! Ms. Lisa is also amazing! I cant say enough about Kennydale KinderCare! I have taken my kiddos here for years. Currently I have my 5 year in the centers private kindergarten. We just received results from a recent statewide test and our son was is in the 90th percentile for his age. I honestly owe the applaud to the center for their teachings to our children. Its worth every dime we spend. Some have said (recently) the center is expensive, but frankly aren't our children priceless?? I think yes. I pay our tuition weekly so as to never get behind and have an overwhelming owed debt. I was recently employed at this facility for 3 years and it has been one of the most exuberating experiences I have had thus far. At this center is where I picked up my passion for teaching and got to do so along side with amazing like minded individuals. Everyone here works hard and truly cares about your children, from the teachers to the directer (Ronna) everyone goes above and beyond. My daughter has been in the daycare since she was 6 months and I don't plan on leaving especially because of how amazing the director is she makes sure the building is clean and a safe environment but most importantly she keeps you engaged in what's going on with your child, any questions you have she will answer. My twins were enrolled at Kennydale KinderCare from 12 weeks of age until they were 18-months old (their last day was earlier this month). The only reason they are no longer enrolled is because our family moved out of the area. I would 100% recommend this center for childcare. My husband and I toured a number of facilities (in Bellevue, Factoria, and Renton) and we chose this center primarily due to the proximity to our home, ease for our commutes (location immediately off of I-405), and tuition costs. We toured the center before the twins started and really appreciated the time that the teachers and staff took to answer our questions and show us around. Their tuition fees were in-line with others in the area and as a bonus, they accepted the GSA subsidy (available to military families). During the time that our children were enrolled there, the staff and teachers became a second family to us. I always knew that they would take great care of the twins, whether it be to spark their development, foster their education, or attend to any health concerns. As first-time parents, we often relied on advice given to us by the teachers in the Infant and Toddler rooms. And with my husband gone for an overseas deployment for almost a year, I probably relied more heavily on those teachers than other families. The twins were always happy when I dropped them off and picked them up. The teachers and administrative staff always shared with me all the fun things that they did and I always felt that the lines of communication were open. The staff sends out emails that describe curriculum and other events/activities and they will also share photos with you of the children at school (if you opt in). One of my twins had some medical problems his first year and the teachers and staff all kept a watchful eye on him and would call me to keep me updated if they had any concerns. We have currently enrolled the twins in a new daycare center in the DC area and tuition costs are much higher and the quality of care hasn't matched the level we were receiving with Kennydale Kindercare. We wish we could have moved the center with us! We miss the teachers a lot! read more

I will not recommend this daycare. First of all the teachers keep changing all the time, and they don't even give notice and teachers working there most of them are young and unexperienced at least in toddler C group. In addition, the place is not clean, when you enter to facility it looks clean but inside the rooms are gross specially toys are accumulated with dust and they are sticky. They don't wash kids hands before meal or after changing diaper or potty. The sink has been out of soup for 1 week, and finally I told the teacher how come you guys don't keep soap, don't you have to wash your and kids hands. My comments won't end here. My daughter had been there for 4 months, during that time she had stomach bug 3 times, non stop runny nose and cold. The reason for that they let my daughter to play in the water or puddle when they go outside and her sleeves will get wet, they don't even change her clothes. Many times when I went to pick her up her sleeves are wet socked in the water. Seriously, I cant tolerate this, I don't know where teacher are looking at. Ok, finally I pulled her out from this daycare and gave my 2 weeks notice, the management didn't event bother to ask me the reason we are leaving. Lastly, I requested the copy of my immunization form and Lannete, director said they never received it, although she confirmed that she received on our first day. Even they didn't receive why she didn't bring to my attention, it didn't make sense that my daughter was attending that daycare for 4 months and they didn't have her immunization form. I am sure it is against the law, but I guess they don't care. Anyway, please stay away from this daycare. they don't care about your child, all they want is to get their paycheck, that is it. read more

I honestly couldn't find a better place to take my daughter every day. We absolutely love the teachers - they all get to know all of the kids, not just the ones in their class, so that when the kids transition into different classrooms they are already comfortable with their new teacher. The teachers have all loved our daughter like she's their own, and are genuinely happy to see her every day when we drop her off. I can tell by my daughter's face and reaction to them that she is really happy being there, and it's an amazing place to learn. She is 18 months and comes home having learned new things every week. They do art on a regular basis, encourage playing outside, and make sure kids are very loved, but learn independence and playing/sharing with others as well. Highly, highly recommend this center - I had a hard time at the thought of dropping her off at daycare when we first started, but they have definitely put my mind at ease.
