Every Kindercare is a little different. This branch certainly has their ups and downs. Ms. Jenn tries hard to manage this busy daycare. I'm sure they have a lot of behind the scene activities that is parents don't account for (personnel shortages/schedule changes, facility issues, parent and children concerns, etc) I think they are good people who generally care about our kids and their well being. I went through a life altering event in my life and they were supportive. Latest drop off is at 930am unless you let them know ahead of time. They stop serving breakfast at 830 as well. They are friendly and I enjoy their parent-kid interactions -pie day, graduation day, tea party. It is on the pricey side. For preschooler-age, it's over $1600/mo. Sometimes it can be short staffed and they'll let you know if you need to pick up your kid earlier. They have an app and you can see what they're doing. Sometimes I get photos in the app where my kid isn't in the picture. When they are busy, sometimes I don't get any pictures which is understandable. I want them to focus on what's really important. Also the app lets parents send email and communicate to the director and teachers. I was disappointed that I wasn't able to get a conference in the school year. They were so busy with the end of year party that I had to make sure that I had everything packed before leaving. I liked that the teachers use white boards/paper. Let's do one better and have the kids take turns going up and presenting. I think they already do that for days of the week, etc. Overall, decent place. Daycare isn't easy and they try hard to improve their image. I know they have had rough reviews but not sure how truthful they are. Ms. Cynthia is great! She's so sweet and friendly and patient when I'm late picking up my little one. Also, Ms. Maria too! She may not bubbly but she teaches stuff and now my kid knows Spanish because of her. read more

My two sons attended the center for 2+ years, until we moved away from the area. Leaving the center was absolutely the hardest part of the move. The teachers are like family -- Always there to give my boys hugs, words of encouragement, laughter, and guidance. They truly made such a huge impact on my boys' lives. The center does a great job of balancing learning/curriculum and fun. Plus, the teachers sent me videos and pictures of the boys all day, which made it so much easier to be away from them. I would absolutely recommend the center to anyone looking for a safe, warm, welcoming environment for their kids. read more

My 2 kids are enrolled here! And I saw how friendly, professional and caring all the teachers are! Director Ms Jenni is very nice and accommodating. Ms Cynthis is also there to help. Loved that is walking distance from our house and my kids loved attending here and always excited! read more

We love this location. I feel like my twins are loved and cared for all day and do plenty of stimulating activities which is important to me. I would recommend this location to anyone in the highlands! read more

The teachers are amazing! Since my 6 week old baby started, he's already shown great improvement in routine. He's also so happy whenever he is with his teachers. If I can give a zero I would. I highly would not recommend this childcare facility save yourself and your child especially if you have a toddler/ preschooler. I liked it at first the whole Child Care set up and the curriculum when ms. Olga was running it and had it together and made the best of it but now it's trash and nothing is stable. I don't play about my child and did what's best and need to be done. I just took my child out and switched him to a new school and I see such a change and difference he walks in w/ no problems he's involved and they keep me up-to-date with everything and has such a appetite now but he looks so much happier And pleased. If you still take a interest in this Child Care, make sure to check your trial from head to toe when they return home every day and ask them if they ate and how the teachers treat them, teacher Angie is not OK. I even had one of their staff there that would personally text my phone and call my phone and told me my son wasn't too happy and some stuff that was going on at the Child Care in the preschooler class the 3 to 4 range also make sure your babies belongings are marked because they will put your stuff on the next child or have the next child. Use your babies belongings. They will allow your child to have no socks on their feet shoes on the wrong feet, runny nose, dirty face all day and have the nerve to take pictures and send correct or teach the right way as well have their shoes laces unravel and some more my son has had three teachers within six months good luck he liked it, Mr. Hawk and Miss Blue when Miss Olga was running the Child Care but now it's literally a hot mess teachers treating and talking to kids in a manner they shouldn't be and brought it to the assistant Director and Miss Angie just doesn't know her place and it's not cool. She will label your child and is very nosy. also, my son lunch away while he was hungry then wrote him up because he threw a fit and kicked her which is not OK but he was hungry made a mistake with Child. He's a little angel, but he literally has been through a lot at the Child Care and put up with a lot with other kids hitting him and then allowing it multiple times because of the student couldn't speak English, and only spoke Spanish. wouldn't even write an incident report but wanted me to sign something but didn't tell me what she did to my son. I had to ask him in front of her and I was so mad I couldn't even do wanna bother so I took him out so good luck with this Child Care though Mexican lady that teaches that class seems like the only one that tries to teach the kids and love on the kids for real. Please Please Read Please don't take your child to the Renton Highlands Kindercare we have had a few bad experiences with my nephew there. If they had a 0 Star I would give it to them . Ok here it goes on August 10th 2019 for starters he was in time out in the corner in a high chair that was on the floor he was strapped in and being restrained by the high chair. My family & I have picked him up several times & they didn't know where he was & what classroom he was in. Then on August 26th 2019 I went to pick up my nephew I pull up to the daycare at 5PM only to find my nephew who is 2 1/2 standing in the front of the daycare all by his self!!!! Getting ready to walk in to the parking lot intill he saw me then he turned my way& said Auntie, Auntie & ran in my direction I barely pulled in & had time to park i was so in shock. Wondering why is here out here by his self. I picked him up & brought him in side the daycare & said why is my nephew in front of the daycare by his self?? He was getting ready to walk in to the parking lot. They said What? No!! Really? I was so angry & upset I was shaking. They had no idea that he was missing at all. The Director asked my nephew to show us how he got out he walked over to the side gate on the right hand side & showed her how he just pushed it open. He obviously was NOT being watched at all!!! They should be counting they're kids all the time & making sure that they have everyone. For him to get out & not 1 single person in the daycare had any that he was gone from the playground yet alone missing & in the front of the daycare all by his self. Come to find out from a staff member she told my mom & I that he was missing for 20min. I have asked the director if they had written an incident report about what had happened with my nephew the other day? They pretty much tried to change the subject & wanted to talk to the mother. And still till this day we have never gotten an incident report from them about what had happened. They are trying to cover they're butt's do they don't get in trouble. Also to not have him escape again they put my nephew in with the younger kids where the gate locks. That's so not ok he needs to be with his own age.. And also my nephew keeps coming home filthy dirty when we pick him up. Marker all over his clothes, hands, face, arm's. I love the openness of the center. The classrooms are colorful, and the outdoor space has plenty of space for the kids to run and play!

This is a fabulous KinderCare center! Not many centers have been able to remain open through COVID-19 and of the few that are still open not all are taking all the necessary precautions to make sure families feel safe. This center is having staff wear their masks the entire day and encourages staff to wear long sleeves and/or smocks so that they are not bringing in as many germs. To limit the exposure of outside germs to the staff and children only staff and students are allowed inside the building during operating hours. Tours have been scheduled outside of regular bussiness hours. The director is going above and beyond to accomodate those interested in attending the center by being available on weekends! Non-Covid related: I love that art is often at child-level so they can see what they have done! In the infant room there were images of each of the students next to their cribs that denoted their developmental abilities so that subs would know what each child was capable of! The staff are sweet and caring. I would definatley recommend checking out this center if you're in the Renton area! read more

Overall, friendly group of teachers (who seem underpaid for all they do)nice supplies; like a school. Sadly they have poor child attendance tracking and payment accounting practices. I also had challenges understanding their random "add on" and yeary re-registration fees and fees for supplies or whatever "extra" thing that came up became overwhelming. The tuition averaged $75 per day, so I'm not sure why the add on fees were necessary. Those un-expected fees made it difficult to budget for. My child was sick every week and rarely spent more than 3 days a week there without being sick again. Their poor accounting and child attendance practices led to overpayment on my part and I've yet to see a refund of over $600 I'm due as promised over 3 weeks ago. read more

Today I met with the director Amy and the interim director Olga for an interview. Amy began by stating how unprepared she was for our interview and then proceeded to detail the ins and outs of the facility. She described the children enrolled as "crazy" and spoke disparagingly about one particular black family who is clearly experiencing emotional trauma. When I asked "how do you as a director equip your teachers and staff to mindfully handle the needs of this child and others dealing with behavioral issues?" She stated her teachers have no training and are not equipped to handle these children, so they call in someone else and it gets addressed that way. When I expressed my passion for and experience with children with special needs or behavioral challenges, Amy stated that she was "lied to" in the past by a staff member claiming to have the same credentials as I do and said she was "hesitant" to hire someone due to "being burned in the past". Before I could ask for clarification, Olga entered the room and began discussing private details about a student. She remarked that if said child "continued to hit, they would end up in jail like their father". When I expressed that this language is inappropriate and that stereotyping children, especially children of color, is deplorable, Olga said her comments were permissible because their "African American licenser" corroborated the remarks. I explained that I'm disappointed and appalled by the way they speak about their students and families behind closed doors. All of this to say: if your children are enrolled at this facility or if you plan to in the future, please consider going elsewhere. Teachers aren't trained, directors and staff perpetuate racist stereotypes, and children are not uplifted or supported emotionally by leadership. read more

My child attended another childcare for about 2 years, and they were awesome... had to move and naturally wanted to find another Kindercare because I assumed they were ran similarly. Not the case. This location is inexperienced and very frustrating to work with. In addition to the extra fees that pop up throughout the year, my 3 year old is still in pullups. The inconsistency of the staff has prolonged the process. When she was in panties she ALWAYS had wet outfits and blankets that I would need to wash (without owning a washer and dryer and being a single mother of 2 is very difficult every day), so I had to resort back to pullups. All staff would do is claim they had her go potty at the appropriate times, but I don't see how thats possible (every day??? C'mon). They would also call me to pick her up frequently for her having a tantrum, not listening, or saying no. Isn't that typical behavior for a little person? They claim to not be able to calm her down. Really? She's THREE!!! They're supposed to be trained! And to add salt to the womb, they actually kicked her out of the program because she is so horrible. What prompted this final decision is she took a toy from another child then had a fit because the teacher took it away from her. OMG my daughter is the devil! Now I'm stuck trying to find childcare so I don't lose my job. This place is horrible. I do NOT recommend, unless you have a perfect child. Do those exist? read more

We love KinderCare! They are amazing with the kids. My daughter has gone here for almost a year and a half and loves it. The infant room is amazing with Mrs. Annie and Ms. Megera. In the toddler room Ms. Altera and Ms. Maya were great. They really show that they care for the kids and have interest in the kids development. Our son has been going here for over 2 years now, started when he was 4 months old, and we could not be happier. For infants, Ms. Annie is the only one in the area that we felt good about leaving him with. Our son speaks well, plays well with other kids, is a clean independent eater (as clean as a 2 year old can be) and enjoys his teachers and classmates. They provide tons of creative hands on activities for the kids to do and share with us. Communication from the center is also excellent, we get a weekly email on what his class is doing as well as very timely responses to emails we have occasionally sent them. read more

My son has gone here for a year and a half and we love it! I had heard some bad things about daycares/preschools but we were impressed. The teachers are very compassionate. This was my sons first time in daycare (he was 3 when he started) after only being cared for by me and close family. He was very scared at first, but he has become so attached to his teacher, he doesn't want to leave to start Kindergarten next year. Thank you for being so nice to our family :) read more

Finding a good child care center is not easy but the staff at this location are awesome! I enrolled my daughter in the toddler classroom and she has adjusted great! She is always doing creative activities and the teachers are great about communicating how her day is and things to work on with her at home. All of the staff I have interacted with including the director and assistant director are very professional and friendly. I would recommend this place to family and friends! :) read more

Every kid in the classroom was sick (runny eyes and noses) falling asleep on the tables they looked terrible. Seemed like the teachers are more concerned with documenting whose diaper they changed and the consistency of their bowel movement. No engagement with the kids. Most of the caregivers looked like they don't care. I guess if this is the last option and you don't care about your kids then this is a great place! read more
