She wakes up everyday ready for school because here their philosophy is learning through play. Kids at this age needs that and to be grounded to nature and the outdoors. She has brought back daily random facts and things I've never learned before. During the "school year" they do seat work and she has learned to write the alphabet in upper and lower case, count to 100+, and even phonetically sound out words to help her start reading. During "camp weeks" they have themed programs that make the weeks exciting like horsemanship week, or kids in the kitchen, or life on the farm. We are so grateful we got a spot here and we hope to have our son back in here in the future! If you are looking for a preschool to put your child in, you came to the right place.

It has been so obvious how much they truly care for every kid. The state of the property can only be described as "magical". The children have the opportunity to play and learn outside, gardening, taking care of animals, and learning real-life skills through play. Our son has grown academically, learning to read and write...as well as just as a person - learning patience, sharing, regulating his emotions, etc. They also focus on healthy foods and habits and teaching a good foundation for how to take of your body and the earth. Something that matters a lot to me in addition to all the other things is cleanliness. The property inside and out is extremely well cared for and safe. All kids wash their hands on arrival and many times throughout the day - and they always keep parents in the loop if something is "going around". I would recommend Village Learning to anyone who wants a magical upbringing for their kids...a true home away from home for them.

The Orchards Childcare and Preschool is better than I could have imagined a childcare center could…read morebe. I currently have my two children enrolled at the Orchards. I am particularly impressed with how the caregivers and teachers take a genuine interest in the progress and lives of each of the children in their class. Whenever I've had questions, the Orchards Director has been easy to reach and prompt in her responses. The classrooms have been recently renovated and are kept clean. There is a good variety of age appropriate and safe toys in all of the classrooms. Security is well maintained with video monitoring, keypad access to facilities and fenced outdoor play areas. I love the phone application that they use for the secure check in and out procedure, as well as the photo updates throughout the day. Their Junior Kindergarten class is quite robust in its educational curriculum. The lead Junior Kindergarten teacher has been teaching young students for over 20 years, I believe. I'm honestly impressed at the progress my four year old has made behaviorally and educationally. They also have done a great job at offering events throughout the year. Kids Christmas program, picture days, Easter egg hunts, "pumpkin patch" etc. I couldn't recommend the Orchards more.

The school has been around for 70 years and for good reason! There is so much love and care. Every time I drop off my child, I know this is a place of love, safety, and intentionality. Every classroom is different and caters to students as a whole and individually. My child was one of the oldest kids and the teacher taught her leadership skills, and helpfulness with younger children. I loved the way the teacher helped my daughter solve problems. Whenever there was a small issue, it never felt like a big deal because it was solved in the classroom, and my child felt empowered to learn how to solve her own problems in a loving way. I would recommend Highlands Preschool to all families!

I'm taking guitar and ukulele lessons, and I am really impressed with the quality of instruction. It's one thing to know how to play, but it really is an art to be able to convey this knowledge to others - and it's something they are very good at! I have taken some lessons at a couple other places in the Issaquah/Bellevue area, but for me, what sets the Fleming School of Music apart is that they have the whole package, and don't just provide me with lessons but also teach music theory and composition so I have a complete, well-rounded understanding as I move forward in my music education. The school has a computer lab where I have been able to go in and learn how to create my own music and do my own beat mixing, etc. - super fun! But, my absolute favorite thing is the location itself. The atmosphere is great as it's housed in a charming older building that has been remodeled with a really classy performance hall where their own recitals are conducted. (Since I am an adult, I have elected not to be in the recitals (phew!), but I have gone to a couple to watch the younger students perform, and they are so fun (especially the Holiday recital) and a great way for parents to gauge the progress of their kids!) There are lots of choices in our area for music, but this one gets my vote!

Meaning they have private lessons once a week which is replaced once a month by a group theory class. After a private lesson the kids spend some time on the computer to tune their ear to different beats and tones. To top it all off there is a very nice recital once per trimester to give them a chance to work on public performance. My daughter loves it all. However, my biggest issue with the way things are ran is the lack of parental involvement in the progress towards goals. There isn't anything in place that spells out the goals in the first place. I keep having to ask "where are we?" "What are we currently working on?" How is progress being measured? At this point I feel as though no one is directing my daughter's progress and I have to keep advocating for her which puts me in a very uncomfortable situation. I feel that an educational program should report progress to parents at regular intervals. I would like to see more transperancy as to what she is learning in the computer lab and in theory. I would like the instructor to communicate with me as to my daughter's strengths and weakness. I can not blindly trust in a program it must first earn my trust. So I will give this another trimester and if things don't change we will move on to a different program.

And one time even the teacher admitted to us that she let our child struggle to take the cap off a marker for over an hour and not helping him or letting him do anything until he did it, but he never was able to. Now that we've been out and into another school for a long time we realize how miserable our child was at this school, since he loves his new school and actually looks forward to going every day. The teachers are far too strict and cold towards the children and it was not a good fit for us. A few odd things. It was against school rules to ever allow parents inside the classroom except once a month by appointment. And also at one point the school had their full day license suspended or taken away. So they could not watch kids for more than a couple hours. We never got an explanation why, and at this point we took our child out of the school. I think most parents did the same thing.

Since then, he's been at Primrose, now 7 months old, and he's been so happy and healthy. I can't begin to explain the night and day difference and our appreciation. His teachers are all wonderful and kind, they listen to my concerns, they keep him engaged and happy during the day, and even though he only attends 4 days a week, we can tell how content he is when we drop him off every Monday. Shout out to Ms. Light and Ms. Ghafari! During pick up, he always has so many things to babble, which is his sign of a good mood. In his past daycare, he would be returned to us with a puffy face, completely silent, and rashes all over his face. I think if you're looking for an infant care facility that goes above and beyond, actually understands infant development, and knows how to listen to baby's cues...this is definitely the place for your child's care. If you have the privilege to consider the tuition, which we found to be very fair, we highly recommend PSWB.
