I absolutely love this preschool! My son has been a student for two years (3 & 4 yrs old). He has always been extremely attached, and very shy. His first day of class, okay, maybe his first week, was slightly rough. Tears would well up in his eyes, and he would hang onto me at the start of class. Mrs. White was so wonderful with him. She would ease him in to the classroom, and spend some special time with him trying to get him acquainted with his surroundings. By the end of the week, he was flying into class without so much as a wave good-bye! By the end of his first year, he loved it so much we opted to put him in one of their week long summer school classes (themed classes; he participated in the Hawaiian Luau theme which he loved!).
His second year with Mrs. Gallagher was just as wonderful. He looked forward to going every day (Up'd from two days to three days/week), and made lots of new friends. They attend field trips, one to the Pumpkin Patch in October and another one to the Carco Theater to watch plays. They also have special musical or story time guests throughout the year, and at the end of the year, they end with a picnic at a local park. I was sad to have to say good-bye at the end of the year to all of the lovely teachers and aids at this preschool. Even sadder because we moved and my daughter will not be able to attend when she is of age. If you live in the area and are looking for a quality preschool, then I'd highly recommend Highlands! read more
