Jen, I think it was, was SO unprofessional and rude to me. When giving her my insurance info on the phone she interrupted me rudely when I explained that some other doctors had forgotten a digit and therefore my insurance didn't go through properly. I emailed to cancel my appointment after reading these awful reviews online, and got back a weird message that was clearly typed out but made to look like an auto response, telling me to call. I called 3 times over the course of 24 hours and got sent to the hold line. Left a message asking to please call me back and confirmed I'm cancelled - they called back and didn't leave a voicemail. When I called a third time to confirm, they were SO rude and interrupted me, hung up on me. This is NOT how anyone's medical experience should go. Please entrust your medical care with someone else who actually cares.

And when they're incompetent ends up being a complete inconvenience to you they do not care. They don't even apologize. I called weeks ago for an appointment with the doctor. They told me the doctor was booking really far out. I told them I wanted to definitely have him see the doctor eventually, but in the meantime, I was offered to see the nurse practitioner. I expressed to her since I wanted him to get in quickly or as quick as possible, which was within a couple weeks that I'd be willing to see the nurse practitioner quote so long as I can still see the doctor eventually" she assured me that that would be fine. So we decided on April 23 for the nurse practitioner and then she made me appointment in June to follow up with the doctor. I do not live close. I live 40 minutes away and I had to pull my child out of school, and then we drove all the way out there showed up 15 minutes early for our appointment and she proceeds to tell me that we do not have an appointment. I explained to her that I absolutely did have an appointment and she basically made it seem like since I couldn't remember the name of the person who scheduled the appointment or had some sort of text message appointment reminder that I had basically just made it up in my mind or something. She told me that I only had an appointment in June and I told her and explained to her what had happened and how I had the initial appointment with the nurse practitioner and I was told that I had a follow up appointment with the doctor in June, she told me "we cannot make two appointments at one time" which is interesting because whoever takes appointments when you call over the phone clearly doesn't know that rule and did not let me know that or else I would not have gone out of my way to call out of work and pull my child out of school to go to my nonexistent appointment because of their incompetence. Needless to say, I will never be going back there again and I do not recommend this place at all because they're incompetent, they're rude, they don't even apologize when they make mistakes or try to make it right. We were standing there she could've tried to squeeze us in, but she didn't even try. She just stood there smugly in my face saying sorry your problem not mine.

Step by step, I was taken care of in a way that I had not received medically since I was a child, or maybe ever. Every question I had or thought I wanted to share was answered and listened to attentively and with genuine enthusiasm. I couldn't believe how deviated my septum was and so scheduling a septoplasty was definitely the next step. I had my procedure done yesterday and each person who helped me was incredibly kind and made me feel safe and comfortable. Even the doctor, whose only job was to perform the procedure made sure to let me know what was happening step by step. Of course, being heavily sedated helped a lot, as I was extremely anxious beforehand, but the care I was given made it even better. So far, not even 24 hours after surgery, I am in no pain whatsoever. They already called me this morning to check up on me and I look forward to my post-op check up. I couldn't recommend this place any more than I already do. Thank you to all the staff and Dr. Sigari for a wonderful experience.

I felt comfortable and well taken care of during that part of my visit. Unfortunately, things took a turn when I interacted with Angela (the blonde older lady staff member). She was very aggressive about trying to schedule me for an elective procedure that I wasn't even sure I needed yet. Instead of giving me space to think things over or ask questions, I felt pressured and uncomfortable. She kept making comments about how she works in multiple offices and making the appointment for a few months out would be easier for HER. She kept saying "I can't even call you to follow up in 5 months?" And said I would need to pay my copay to hold the appointment. Her attitude really took a turn and she just handed me a black folder and said "I guess you can just read about it yourself then, you're all set" and I walked myself out without anyone saying goodbye, or following up. I hope the office can address this, because the medical care itself was good--but the end was a total bait and switch.

My "plan" was roughly $350 each month Which only lasted a couple months until I cancelled their services. Upon my first visit after my labs I was referred to a hematologist because my blood iron levels were home about 20 points over normal. I was fine with this because I don't know how this works. I was referred to an oncologist for this which scared me and I ended up seeing a hematologist in the same office, and the doctor said this is not an issue when your blood levels are just a little bit over normal... During this first meeting, the doctor at Skylar Center also had me very concerned about my liver because it too was a few (10) points over normal. This doctor made reference to my colon and my kidney having issues as well. A little seed was planted that somethings wrong. She had me take a vitamin a few times a day for this liver "problem" and told me to get an ultra sound. When I asked for the referral for the ultrasound she wouldn't give it to me and told me I had to go see my primary care practitioner. Since when do you pay $350 a month for services and you can't even get a referral for an ultrasound from the medical doctor your paying? After 3 months I had more blood drawn to review my progress. At that time my amylase and lipase levels were high and I got a phone call sending me to the emergency room immediately. I was in no pain nor had been when I took the blood draw. I know this was because they needed to cover their end from liability because they saw my blood levels were a little high. So I went to Memorial and sat there for 10 hours only to be told that my levels were normal. According to the hospital my levels were normal according to Skylar blood draw lab my levels were not normal. Who is right here? I spoke to the doctor the day after I went to the emergency room and told her everything was normal. I asked her what about my liver levels in this new blood draw and she said "they are not good" which makes me think I have a big problem. That Conversation was continue to take your vitamins and I'll talk to you again in three months. Now it's really obvious to me that they are making me think there's an issue in my body when there are no issues. You pay a doctor to tell you if somethings going on and I felt like I got fed a ton of maybes.... With no solutions. What the heck?? And I'm paying monthly for this!?!?! I did get the ultrasound done and I got a whole panel of blood work drawn from another doctor. And of course everything is fine with all my organs and nothing is wrong with my liver. I would never recommend the Skylar center ever and their offices are grungy and old.

She welcomes any questions I have for her and she is forthright about making sure I understand how to use a medication, what I am allergic to and how to avoid those items. I like her bedside manner. She and I have detailed discussions and if I don't remember or understand something, I can (and do) call back to get the information without any problems. It might take a bit before I get the information because she is seeing patients. My husband and my child have seen her too.

Less than two months after the first of the year, I found myself without medical insurance. I was finally able to get medical coverage in July 2018 and received a referral from my new PCP to see Dr. Liu and her office refused me an appointment because I cannot afford at least half the past bill at this time, I offered a payment amount they refused. I severely suffer from chronic allergies and have for some time now, I suffer severely from allergies everyday and to find out that the priority of this Doctor and her staff, is money over healthcare is a disgrace, holding my healthcare hostage to their greed, well I am sure I am better off without her continued service.
