Pathetic experience. First of all went there in 2011 to get botox for migraines. They did a great job although they were very pushy with getting the money. I'll give you this the people in the front office are attractive but that has little to do with being professional as so many reviewers point out(they probably just want to get laid.) This time around they didn't want to wait till next appt to do injections and injected the day of with a clear liquid in a syringe unlike the one used before. This ones were more like diabetes syringe. So since i had to get it day of combined with how the syringe looked, who knows what was injected in me?? If he wants people to trust him, he should be more transparent with prices and not take advantage of those that are trusting good hearted positive people. Now maybe that might seem pessimistic or maybe everyone in New england is like this! But I refuse to be corrupted by such malfeasance. Don't trust this doctor and I will make a complaint with someone i know who deals with this if i don't get money back or a better injection. Disgusted! read more

They will not listen to you. You will be rushed. You will not receive the service you expect. They will be rude. Amber, at the counter, will be condescending. The AP, in her haste, will make appointments for you at the counter that you will miss because you didn't realize she was making them. They will charge you for missing the appointments you didn't want. You will call to dispute the charges, and to cancel future appointments because you're sick of this office and no longer wish to do business with them. It will happen again. You will call to dispute the charges for another appointment you didn't want, they won't listen. They will tell you about how you made the appointment and it's your fault. You will try to explain the situation without swearing. They will still not listen. I am a very moley, freckled and fair girl. It's just a fact of life. I used to go to a nice dermatologist in Boston but since I work and live in Quincy, I wanted to go to one nearby. The previous dermatologist used to look at every mole and talk to me about which ones I was concerned about and ones she was concerned about. At my appointment, the PA started to review my moles but stopped and did not look at the ones on my leg or back. She found a pre-cancerous bump on my face, which she froze. She told me to tell her which ones were changing for all of them. I can not see the ones on my back or the back of my thighs. She did not look at the other pre-cancerous bumps I have on my upper chest. She called the doc and asked me what I was concerned about and I told him and he said, we will take these off in separate appointments. I was dismayed that my back and thighs were not looked at. I can stare and look at my moles on my arms and the front of my legs all I want but I can not see the ones on the back. I just miss the comprehensive exams that I used to get. Maybe I should go back to Boston even if it is out of the way. read more

I tried numerous medications from this facility. The PA I saw was difficult to understand due to her accent and how quickly she spoke which I did inform the receptionists. She tried to put me back on a medication she already gave me to try which did not work then she told me I was not a good candidate for a certain medication but I had already tried it. I felt like she never reviewed my records.I met Dr. Reed once. He stated that he did not work with patients on Accutane which was where I was headed again but that his PA would monitor me. Accutane didn't work nor did a few other medications so I was told to see a endocrinologist and there was nothing else for them to try. That was depressing! I wouldn't recommend anyone to come here. The physician assistant took a look at my body and she took a biopsy. She had no idea what it was and the biopsy was no use. I have no insurance and got hit with the bill for the biopsy which was useless. I went to another doctor and she told me what she thought it was. Took a biopsy and was correct. Don't waste your time coming here. I have a co-worker who is also going to this office now and has no results. They took a biopsy and have no idea what it is. They only recommend a cream but it doesn't help much. If they can't figure it out, why not recommend a second opinion from another physician. read more

I am really surprised by some of the negative reviews I see here. I cannot say enough how terrific this entire office is! Both my husband and I go to Dr. Reed's office for Dermatology. We have had excellent experiences with both Dr. Reed and his assistant, Jie Chen. They are kind and thorough and really made me feel comfortable there. I would highly recommend both Dr Reed and Jie Chen. Angelica, who also works as an assistant there, is also very kind and nice to work with. We found Dr Reed after we had had a bad experience with a different Doctor at South Shore Medical Center. We have both had multiple procedures there and are very pleased with their work. I had a very positive experience at this office, starting with Stacey the receptionist. I was very upset when I called due to another dermatology office refusing to buy and bill medication that I needed. Stacey at Dr. Reed's office was professional, listened to my concerns, had me booked within 2 days and I had my procedure done by PA Sam Cohen. I am returning this week to see their aesthetician. She was the nicest person over the phone and in person. Her professionalism was far beyond my expectations. And I don't have to stress about a certain condition before I get married in a few months. After reading all these bad reviews, I see I am not alone. As a young woman seeing the dermatologist for the first time, I found Dr. Reed before he was in a high-volume office. I went in for a rash on my face. After a full-body exam, he joked about my tan lines and asked me on a date. I thought he was sincere but then he joked more about the tan lines and which beach I went to. 20 years later I had another spot on my face. The waiting room was packed. This time, no one spoke about a full-body exam. A rushed assistant said the thing I complained about was nothing to be concerned about, instead he wanted to take a "cell sample" of another spot. I did not know this meant cutting a hole in my cheek. I look at that spot now and wonder why I didn't I say no. Why wasn't this guy more clear about what he was going to do. After searching online for information on fillers such as Juvederm, etc., I stumbled upon Dr. Reed's website. His reviews were wonderful and described him as a very experienced Doctor in all fillers that were on the market and his skills and the longevity of the practice were pointed out in glowing terms. I made an appointment with Dr. Reed. Arriving at the office I was ushered into an examination room where a young woman with a computer tablet asked me questions as to what I would like to have done. She left and shortly the Doctor arrived. He introduced himself and asked what I would like to have done, even though I knew he was briefed. I explained to him exactly which filler I would like after asking some questions about the quality of the filler. He then told me where he would place the fillers. Since I had a similar procedure done about 4 years ago, I asked him to put the filler into the same place I had it done the last time with outstanding results. 2He insisted to put the fillers into the place he suggested. I purchased two syringes for the price of $37850. The fillers were injected where he suggested. There was almost no massaging of the fillers, which is necessary to distribute them evenly. I could see no immediate results, which is not unusual and off I went. 2 days later, one side of my face was black and blue, which I never experienced before. After 2 weeks there concwas no evidence of even had to have the fillers placed. I waited a while longer before contacting Dr. Reed with my concern. He asked me to return to his office which I did. I told him my concerns and he offered me the option of purchasing one more syringe for another $875.00 to see if that would bring the result that I was looking for..I went ahead explaining once again exactly where I would like to have it placed and again he placed it exactly where he wanted to. The right side of my face has now a lump and the left side of my face shows only a minute improvement. Certainly not enough for what I was charged. Conclusion: STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM THIS OFFICE AS YOU CAN, One should see results for this kind of money spent and if the Doctor is so insistent to do it his way, walk out. I have seen Dr. Reed in Plymouth twice. I have never been to a doctor who is as on time, to the minute, as he is. I had sebaceous hyperplasia, broken capillaries, kybella and skintyte. It is too soon to comment on the kybella etc, but my broken caps and sebaceous hyperplasia are gone. He did a thorough and excellent job. There are many "med spas" around who offer the same services. I made the mistake of going to one totally dishonest internal medicine person on Camp St. for broken capillaries who burned me for life. Although they maybe cheaper, you cannot trust their medical expertise whatsoever. I feel very confident in Dr. Reed's medical background and proficiency. Another plus is his reassuring, honest and kind personality. Made an appointment and specifically stated that i wanted to see the Dr. and not a Physician Assistant. Arrived for my appointment and was ushered into the office and noticed that the person who walked in was not Dr. Reed, but a female who it turns out was a Physician assistant. She did a cursory look at a small mark on my face, no complete body check, which is what is recommended. I asked for the office manager and insisted on a Co-pay refund; which after threatening to call the attorney generals office, she complied. If one makes an appoitment to see a specialiist, then a specialist they should see. I've been to this office three times now and every time I've seen a different PA. Not once did I ever see the doctor, which I've requested. Made a few appointments and things were "ok" for a while. Then scheduled an appointment months later because I had two separate issues I wanted addressed. Medical assistant only helped me with one. When I inquired about the other, she was very rude, saying they're short on time, and I'd have to schedule another appointment for that- and that they only give 15 min appointments. I insisted that I had mentioned this on the phone and she finally budged, but not before she made passive-aggressive comments to the physicians assistant about me- in front of my face. THEN- dealt with months worth of insurance issues (until I finally just caved and paid) because the office staff insisted I only had a $30 co pay- until they realized my insurance company didn't even cover them (their fault- I had inquired multiple times, knowing I had new insurance). AND on two separate occasions they sent my prescriptions to the wrong pharmacy. Hot mess. They don't care about their patients- you're money to them. It's pretty damn clear. read more

Dr. Reed did a biopsy which I was extremely nervous about, and it was exactly what he thought. I thought Dr. Reed's personality was great, and he really helped me through the biopsy procedure. I've had nothing but positive experiences with Dr. Reed and his staff. I have seen them 5-6 times and each time was seen by Dr. Reed and an assistant and they spent ample time with me. Dr. Reed diagnosed the reason for and resolved my adult acne, which multiple other doctors have been unsuccessfull in treating for the past 25 years. I've also seen him for other skin conditions, each with a good outcome. His staff is friendly, professional and I appreciate the ease of booking appointments, getting seen quickly and helpful portal and reminders provided by his staff. I have been seeing Dr. Reed and his PA's for over 10 years. I had very debilitating psoriasis. I went through many treatments which worked for a while and then failed. He has always worked diligently to come up with a new treatment plan. I have been free of psoriasis plaques for years now. Recently I ran out of my medication and was given a sample at my last visit, which was a life saver. His receptionist, Stacey, has been there since I started seeing him and she is always pleasant and kind. My PA, Jeff was wonderful but now in the Plymouth office and my new PA Shauna is wonderful. If you have ever lived with psoriasis, you know how devastating it can be. I can't say enough wonderful things about Dr. Reed's practice. Waste of time. Office in general had a weird vibe and no one was very personable. "Doctor" barely took the time to look at my skin condition, and didn't seem all that interested in determining what the issue might be. He prescribed some "cream" and some "pills" and told me to come back in a month. I will never go back. I learned more doing an internet search then I did from this "expert". I went to Dr. Kenneth Reed today and I was a bit nervous because I knew I was having great pain with one particular area not to mention the ones that I'm supposed to keep sunscreen on and cover. Anyway, as soon as I arrived in the office I was greeted with a pleasant smile and calming atmosphere. A few minutes later I was called and all smiles swept into a room by a very cheerful nurse. This makes a difference to me when people treat you with a cheerful and professional manner. All my fears were immediately quelled/gone. I was in good hands and then I had three professionals doing a very thorough exam on me (full body) and I was feeling like I was in the room with three caring individuals who had my best possible health-care foremost. Did I tell you I have anxiety when I know I'm going to have something removed. I FELT NO ANXIETY AT ALL!. My experience was more than pleasant and professional. I will be bringing my brother and son there. Did I mention that the parking is FREE. I get excellent care and I don't have to battle traffic and navigate parking lots. It's a win win! Believe me when I say this...If I thought I was getting substandard care in any way I would alert the public as I would expect the same from others but these people have been the best! I brought my mom to Boston many years and it was very difficult for me to see the damage that the sun can do to our loved ones so I'm no stranger to dermatology, skin cancer so bad that my mom had to lose a third of her face in the Boston offices (Not the fault of the NEMC) My mom waited too long and she was a sun worshiper from a very young age. I've been going to Dr. Reed's office for a few years now. I came here to post because I am pretty frustrated with what happened with my last appointment. I left work early (since there really aren't late evening appointments) and I got to my appointment on time. After being told numerous times by the receptionist that the doctor would be with me "really soon" I sat waiting for 45min. I understand doctor's run behind, I'm not going to be a stickler for a few minutes. What I won't tolerate is when I'm treated like my time/schedule is unimportant. If I was the one who showed up 45 min late, you can bet my appointment would not be held for me. I finally asked the receptionist how much longer the doctor would be and was told that they couldn't give me an estimate. As I had other obligations that evening, I let them know I couldn't wait anymore and I left. Has anyone from the office called to apologize or to try and reschedule my appointment? Of course not. I was very disappointed with my several experiences here. The man who did my annual screening was too embarrassed to check my breasts! "You are alright in that area?" he asked and I was too taken aback to ask him to check himself as I do have lots of spots in cleavage area. Then they scheduled me in the wrong office for another appointment to have MOHS surgery and I had to drive to Qui cry at the last minute Instead of Plymouth . And lastly (the entire reason I went to this office..for MOHS plastic surgery!) I have a scar on my face that over the course of a year has gotten worse. I will never go there again. Waste of time! A nurse, too preoccupied with iPad "patient/subject" entry, escorted me to a room and impatiently and begrudgingly listened to my concerns. She then asked if I wanted a body-scan, which then I asked if I needed one...she said "Well, do you want one?" With blank stares and hurried gestures, she went to get Dr. Reed, who entered with no introduction or greeting but simply another blank stare of "Yes? and your issue was?". Yes, they may have been minor but he acted as if I was wasting his time when I hadn't requested Botox. Well, he had wasted mine. Yowza. I had gone here a few years ago and was satisfied with treatment & info given. This time, not so much - Although the receptionist (on the side, not the one through the front) was very very nice! I saw Jie Chen, Dr. Reed's PA. She's like a whirlwind. Very fast! She came in, looked at my rosacea, wrote me a script, & told me how much to take. She asked me 3 times what my allergies were - I had already given them twice to the nurse prior to seeing Ms. Chen. Turns out, they don't sync devices or something because I had to let her know. No side effects were discussed. She didn't ask me about my diet, my lifestyle, my water source - all things that affect the skin. She didn't ask me if I was pregnant either - that came up in a side conversation before she left where she really quickly said, "Oh yes, don't get pregnant on this." WTF. This is what I paid $35 co pay for? She's lucky I'm a researcher and know what to look for myself but I can just imagine someone else going to her that doesn't have the time to research this stuff on their own or someone who couldn't keep up with her frantic pace. First of all, the staff are very unprofessional except for 1 of the secretaries who has been there the longest. I heard conversations in the room waiting that no one should hear- cant believe these girls are working in a medical office of any type. They were all on their way out the door then finally noticed they left me in a room so hurried through my exam. They noticed a few moles for biopsy and I never saw a procedure rushed like this... Needless to say my bandaging was not appropriate and bled through my shirt... Through the sheets, and mattress at my home. I will never return there again. If I could describe my visit in one word it would be: Horrible This review is for the Nurse Practitioner and medical scribe I saw in the office. The visit was unprofessional and it was obvious they did not care about me as a human being. I felt like I was just money to them. When I checked in I asked if there was any paperwork I needed to fill out, they quickly responded that they're paperless. At first I thought it was good that they were going green, then I realized they just don't care to take a detailed patient history. The medical scribe rushed through some questions, followed by a nurse practitioner patronizing me and acting like she's some sort of genius telling me what the difference between inflamed and not inflamed acne is. Gee thanks. She also asked me some of the same questions as the scribe, which makes me feel like she didn't even read the history that the scribe literally just took. I was also hoping to get some bumps checked out on my arm to assess whether they were keratosis pilaris or warts, since a family member has warts. The practitioner doesn't even look at them and goes OH BUMPS ON YOUR ARM THATS KERATOSIS PILARIS. Thanks lady, I'm certainly convinced you know your stuff. I was not given anytime to express my concerns to the practioner, and she obviously just loved hearing herself speak. Any questions or concerns I asked were quickly brushed off. Quickly prescribed me some drugs and was off to treat another patient like garbage. Four minutes of facetime max. If you need to be put on some sort of acne or other skin related drugs and want to it taken care of immediately go here. This place is probably convenient for scheduling quick appointments for monthly accutane/isotretinon bloodtests. If you want to be treated like a human being, take your business elsewhere. read more

For this kind of skin exam I had always been afraid of negligence from a medical provider, but after seen by her I felt very assured about my skin conditions. I'll admit that after reading some reviews, I was a bit hesitant to see Dr. Reed. I've been plagued with painful cystic acne that has left me with quite a few scars on my face. I called Dr. Reed's office and was able to get a new patient appointment very quickly. When I went to my appointment today, I was surprised to be seen by a physician's assistant named Shauna. I was under the impression that I was going to see Dr. Reed, but I was very happy with my visit! Shauna was very nice, very professional, and I felt like she really listened to my concerns. She also gave me quite a few product samples to use and some coupons to save me money on a cream she prescribed. I'm very happy with my experience overall and I would definitely recommend that anyone considering going to Dr. Reed's office for acne should ask to see Shauna! I have been a patient of Dr. Kenneth Reed for over 30 years. I have found him to be very knowledgeable and intelligent as well as caring. He is easy to talk to and explains things in ways that anyone can understand. I would never consider going to another Dermatologist as when I first went to him, no one was able to diagnose the cause of my problem. He took scrapings and examined the tissue under a microscope and was able to prescribe the right medicine. I have been going to him since then and will continue. read more

I have been a a patient of Dr Reed for many years and early on, he would be the one to do the exams, although somewhat rushed. Since those early days, For about the past 2-3 years, my follow up exams and treatments (every appointment) have been done by a P.A. and not by Dr Reed. It seems that he must be too busy with his cosmetic practices (more money) than to see his other patients. I have been seeing Dr. Reed for over 15 years. I have always found him and his staff pleasant and attentive. He found and treated many skin cancers that I had. But things started to change in his office and practice. He became heavenly involved with botox, wrinkles and the like. The final straw was like a prior post I was seen / examined by a Physician Assistant.. No Dr. Reed, no Board Certified Dermatologist. My health insurance was being billed for seeing a "Specialist" and out of category and additional cost to me and my health insurer. That was the very last day I saw Dr. Reed. I made an appointment for the Plymouth location ad was told I'd get a full body scan. I received an automated message the day before ordering me to arrive 15 minutes early with my payment ready. When I walked in there was no one to greet me. Afetr 10 minutes of standing at the reception window, a woman appeared. She did not greet me, she asked for my co-pay without even looking up at me. She kept her nose in her computer. I was finally taken, a half hour late, into the exam room. The receptionist who took my co-pay told me to sit in the exam chair. She sat behind me and asked a few questions to the back of my head. I answered to the wall. She asked me what I was there for (even though I was scheduled for a full body scan). I told her I had a rash and a few moles I wanted looked at. She told me "pick one or the other because you only get 15 minutes with the doctor". I askedfor my co-pay back and left. I brought my daughter in to have a mole removed from her cheek. I used Dr. Reed because it was a mole and should be checked as well as removed. Dr. Reed came in and rudely asked "So you would rather have a scar than a mole, huh?" I said that it would be fine for her as I have had 3 moles removed from my face (diff. doctors) and aside from a small, barely noticeable scar everything was fine. My daughter thought the mole was unsightly and wanted it removed. He removed the mole and put in stitches. He did not say or do anything to put her at ease; in fact his attitude made her more anxious. A week later he removed the stitches. He never scheduled a follow up appointment. His incision left a huge, wide, indented scar. I had to bring her to a plastic surgeon to fix it. I have had 3 moles removed from my face and two from my chest and NONE of them have scarred as bad as that. He had a bad attitude and did a terrible job. She had to deal with having a huge scar for months because of it. Do not use him! read more

I would not recommend seeing this dermatologist, in fact I would warn against it. I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Reed because he was the only dermatologist without a six month wait and now I know why. During my initial visit, Dr. Reed insisted that we schedule the removal of a nevi on my mid thigh. I have seen dermatologists my entire life and the way he decided so blindly and his overall lack of concern for my ideas on the procedure was disconcerting to me. I told him that I would rather schedule a biopsy but he talked me into scheduling a removal. As the day inched nearer I decided to cancel and schedule a biopsy instead. The day of my scheduled biopsy I was again persuaded into a more costly, and in my opinion unnecessary, mole removal. As I have watched the proper removal of a mole by a talented surgeon at BIMDC, I can tell you that this mole was not removed correctly. The stitches were basically grown into the skin and the scar that I now forever have smack dab in the middle of my thigh is not a pretty sight. After my experience I started spreading the word warning against this dermatologist only to find out that many other people have had similar experiences with this particular doctor. From advising patients to go tanning to giving patients erroneous instructions for wound care, Dr. Reed has quite a track record.
