Just had another spa-like experience at a routine cleaning and decided I must write a review. I have been going to Dr. Louie's office for a few years and cannot recommend his practice enough. The staff are the stars of the whole operation. Everyone is friendly, professional, and yet laid-back (quite a balance to stike.) This is the perfect atmosphere for anyone who may get a bit antsy going to the dentist. They even give out lip balm at the front desk, which reminds me of getting to pick out a prize at the dentist when I was little. Yes, please! A couple years ago I had three fillings done and experienced zero pain! I was even surprised when it was over. If the most painful part of visiting the dentist is having to listen to the same Spotify add four times (prescription dry-eye medication,) I think it's fair to say I've found a suberb dentist. During this time, I have consistently been impressed with Dr. Louie''s high level of knowledge, expertise and "dental chair" demeanor with his patients. I switched to a different dentist when I started a new job in August due to schedule conflicts. I still think Dr. Ken is nice and like that he doesn't recommend work that isn't necessary. I did have a few minor issues with the hygienist (Tina) which is why I'm deducting a star. 1) She tried to get me to come every 4 months for a cleaning. The hygienist at the practice I go to in Newark said coming every 6 months is fine. My teeth are generally healthy and dental insurance only covers two cleanings a year. I felt like this suggestion was financially driven and indicated she did not recognize that I do not have serious dental problems. 2) she often questioned my need for nitrous. I have NO medical conditions that contradict using it. Dental anxiety is real, as are a bad gag reflex and sharp pain on my tongue for cleanings without it. If I request nitrous, I don't want to be made to feel guilty about this request. Unless a patient has medical conditions that make using nitrous unsafe, staff members should not question this request. read more

I found this dentist by calling 1-800-dentist years ago, after I had had a really bad experience another dental office, where they made my gums bleed from just a ordinary cleaning. That never happened ever in my life, so that is when I decided to try the 1-800-dentist which are highly rated dentists, by the customers the one I was referred to Dr Louie's office here. I've been here several times for several years. I've gotten cleaning, fillings, and recently I came here and I had to do replacement fillings. I must admit getting replacement fillings are more uncomfortable than original fillings in general, but I guess that comes with the territory. Lately when I come in the cleanings are not as good as they used to be because some of the people who do the cleanings just rush through them. I don't know why they rush through them when I believe that the people that do the cleanings as their job - that is all they do.. I still like this office, but some of the new people they have hired could work on being more thorough, and some of the newer people on the front desk could try to be friendlier. The last time I had a cleaning I was asked if I have kids, what my job is, and if I'm going on vacation..lol..I have no kids, I have a boyfriend and am not married, have a part-time job, and have been hunting for more, so no I'm not going on vacation. She was telling me how so many of the people that were coming in the office as well as people working there were going on vacation..okay.. Once I came here and they gave me free whitening strips however usually they don't give those free. Every time I am here I get a free toothbrush, toothpaste and floss I guess that part is pretty typical. read more

I absolutely love Dr. Louie and the girls at the desk! I had an emergency situation where my veneer suddenly chipped off, and after speaking to the office, Dr. Louie amazingly fit me into his tight schedule. Nurishima (sp?) and Tiffany were so helpful throughout the whole process and their kindness was really heartwarming. Not only did he have my damaged veneer fixed in less than an hour, but after listening to his advice on how to proceed with my other dental procedures,I could tell that Dr. Louie genuinely cares about your dental health rather than capitalizing on each patient. I've struggled and been disappointed with a lot of the cosmetic work from my previous dentists, but Dr. Louie's skill and artistry is really top notch. I have been a client of Doctors Ken and Frank Louie for more than 20 years. They are TERRIFIC - and I was not an easy case when i arrived at their office. I didn't like dentists and had some very bad experiences. Doctor Frank and then Doctor Ken totally changed my attitude. When I first arrived my teeth were horrible shape, Dr Frank helped me getting my mouth into proper shape with my monetary and insurance limitations. I have migrated to Dr Ken as Dr Frank is working less and less. Dr Ken is just like his father. He is very caring and personable. He takes the time to think out my future care and needs of my teeth, understanding my limited monetary and insurance resources. He is helping me more and more,as I reach the twilight of my years. I am moved now to add a review of Susan, one of their hygienists. Susan does an excellent job- my teeth have rarely felt so nice and clean, and my gums are not irritated at all.
