I went home and thought about how he replaced all my childhood filings a few years ago bc they had mercury. I called leaving a voicemail inquiring. They left a voicemail not answering that question. Question was never answered... Anyway, I had been eating more fruit so I went back asking about the sensitivity I'd been experiencing wondering about that filling he purposed I needed. Not only did he say that filling needing replacing but that I needed another filling AND a crown! He kept banging on my molar w a metal instrument which I thought was kind of rough as if he were trying to break the tooth. I responded w " No, I don't need a crown".. we went into a polite debate. I had more fruit after he sent me home saying he couldn't do it that day and the tooth seemed to bother by that Monday. Tancio wasn't available to address the tooth for another 3 weeks or so. I reached out to Dr. Randall Hashimoto's office who had a last min cancellation and were able to get me in the Tuesday. Thank God bc their wait-list goes into March of next year. So I go in and Dr. Hashimoto takes an x-ray to confirm no fillings or crown are needed. It was just tooth sensitivity I was experiencing from certain fruits. He recommended water after fruit and to consider sensodyn toothpaste.... His dental assistant w 30 years under her belt confirmed the same. The tooth sensitivity subsided with his recommendation. I won't be going back to Tancio. Thanks guys for being a practice of integrity! ‍

During the complimentary consultation they took x-rays and photos. After speaking to Dr. Choi and her treatment coordinator I decided to proceed with the treatment. The appointment for the braces was about an hour long, I patiently waited in the reception area. When the appointment was completed, the assistant called me to the back to join her and my son to discuss the details. The assistant went over the instructions for home care as well as went over informative videos. The videos went over foods to avoid, what to do in case there is an emergency. Appointments for his adjustments are easy to book. They even offer appointments by text. Dr. Choi and her staff are wonderful. I cannot wait to see the results.

The office was very responsive and immediately scheduled a bite adjustment for the next day. However, it took two additional adjustments with another dentist before the issue was still partially there. I eventually notified Dr. Munira that the problem persisted after two attempts. She personally handled the final adjustment, which completely fixed the issue. She also took the time to provide a detailed explanation of why it required multiple visits to get it right. After going to a few dental providers who does implants, I soon realized the issue was more complex and probably required someone who are very familiar with implants/allOnX in trauma patients. I did a google search for places in the East Bay. This place came up; however, I am a little confused by the different websites out there. I think it is all this same location but they might have 2 different websites. It is hard to tell which one is the newer or older one or why they didn't get rid of one of them to minimize confusion. I called one of the phone numbers listed on the website. Someone answers quickly and I inquire about consultation/pricing. I asked a few questions and the person on the phone told me they'll have me speak to the doctor. Before I knew it, they directly transferred me to the dentist and he offered to do a free consultation the same day. At first, I think he said he could do a virtual consult. Since I knew the situation was very complex and would benefit from in-person appointment, I asked if we could come in-person which was fine. They were available that day in the afternoon and off to Fremont we go! The appointment lasted significantly longer due to the complexity of the issue, there was a lot of discussion and consults and questions about everything. At the end of the day, no further information was given aside to come back again when things heal. So basically, the free consult felt wasted since I wasn't able to gather what the practice could or could not do. When we asked about coming back, there was a fee of $250 for another consult. I was a little frustrated and upset about that because if we knew we had to return for a second consult, then I would have waited for the first consult to do it a lot later. Like I said, the whole situation was complex and required someone specialized. I imagine this office is specialized in implants/allOnX, but they also felt a little disorganized based on the length of the appointment. I am sure they were being as thorough but it felt like it was pulled many different directions. And I was also upset to find out the 2nd consult was not free even though the first consult didn't provide me anything (no treatment plan, no costs, nothing) and the first consult told us to come back. So this review is only my experience with the initial first impression/consult. I have no comment about their actual dental procedures/implants, they seem to be fairly competent but I did not have the opportunity to experience it.
