I've been coming for a couple years and I can't say anything but good things about this dentist office! I got my wisdom tooth removed today while I was awake which I was very nervous for at first but it was pretty much painless and not bad at all. Dr. Soriano has been a dentist for our family for many years. Even now, my nephews go to him still. I came here for cleaning, and as always, I was fully satisfied. Dr. Soriano is very professional, and the customer service that he and his whole team is excellent. His office is conveniently located in a shopping plaza, so there's lots to do before/after your appointment or if you're waiting for a family member while they're in their appointment. They still do COVID screening, like temperature checks, which I think is a nice precaution. His office is clean, and each chair is electronic and has TVs so you can relax while waiting. They always give out free toothbrushes, toothpaste, and mouthwash on the way out. Going to the dentist can be stressful, but Dr. Soriano's excellent care makes it a breeze! So glad to have found this place and Dr.George. I called in on a Sunday morning after having a very bad wisdom tooth pain for many days and waiting on my dentist to schedule a visit with an oral surgeon. They gave me an appointment within the next half an hour. When I went in they already had my dental insurance pulled up and ready to go. Dr.George was so genuine and upfront about the whole wisdom tooth situation. Explained the entire scenario and decided to go ahead with the extraction. I've only been a patient of Dr. Soriano's for a few weeks now, but I wanted to share my experience so far to help others that are struggling to find a good dentist, or in these times let's be honest--a dentist of *any caliber* in these times. I cracked a back molar open (weak filling) on a pretzel that I didn't know was older than Sanskrit until it was too late. I tried coping and seething for like two weeks, but eventually I realized that dying of sepsis from a tooth infection in 2021 when I have dental insurance is stupider than trusting a random pretzel handed to me from a five year old in the back seat of my car. The pain was unbearable, I hadn't been able to eat any food for a week straight, and not only did I make matters worse physically by waiting so long but every dentist that preforms oral surgery I called had the soonest availability of WEEKS OUT. I finally found Dr. Soriano's number online and gave him a call. I was defeated at this point, ready to take a nap and wait patiently for death, but I figured I'd try looking in Fremont instead of the tri-valley and give it one last shot. Well thank God I did, or let's be honest, thank Dr. Soriano, because he called me back almost immediately and forfeited his evening plans on his day off to help me. His office is very clean, and he has good/not outdated equipment. He might not have the fanciest waiting room, it's plain and minimal, but I think that's because he values providing quality care and extremely fair prices over impressing you with things that shouldn't matter. On that note, I didn't beg him to cut me a deal or anything and honestly, I figured I'd be getting screwed because it was an emergency and late at night, but he ended up charging me a quarter of what I had read to expect from a handful of resources online. He was very careful to cause the least amount of discomfort and possible, and at any sign of pain he was incredibly responsive to making sure I was as comfortable as possible considering how difficult it can be mentally and physically to have a molar extracted and bone grafting done for an implant in the most difficult area to locally anesthetize. The work he did was very careful but surprisingly quick, I was relieved to finally have a decent experience with a dentist. This isn't my first oral surgery rodeo--I have a lot of experiences to compare, and this one was by far the best. I'm still healing from the work, but I heard from others that it was going to be more painful and a longer recovery than I would expect. Dr. Soriano has been very responsive in replying to my messages quickly in an effort to keep me comfortable and calm, and when the Kaiser pharmacy was having issues accessing the prescription for antibiotics he sent over I was able to get a hold of him immediately (late at night again!) to send it again even though it wasn't his error. He double checked that he did everything correctly on his end, and I didn't sense an ounce of annoyance in his voice as he stayed late to make sure I had what I needed. Nobody else would've gone the extra miles that he has for me so far, and for so much less than some dentists have charged me that didn't seem to care about my well-being or feelings whatsoever. I'm very thankful that he hasn't made me feel like I was putting him out even once, even though that's all I've done to the poor guy since day one. I can tell he knows what he's doing, cares about his patients as human beings, and isn't afraid of hard work. I would recommend Dr. Soriano to anyone, but especially those of you who have lost faith in the existence of a good dentist and oral surgeon that will care more about your well-being than how many coins may fall out of your pockets if they shake you upside down. Stop leaving the dentist pissed off, or worse, sitting at home scared to take care of your teeth--I have faith that Dr. Soriano won't let you down. You will too, take it from someone who wrote an entire essay in hopes that he stands out like he deserves. read more

*UPDATE* Dr. Soriano called and personally apologized for the issues I encountered with his business. For context, I am a supporter of small, minority owned businesses (I work for a medical device company and part of my job is to look and vet out owners of this type of business). He explained it was a training issue and that he works late to accommodate emergency patients (which I understand). Although I was surprised that he asked me to delete my feedback. I told him that I will upgrade it but not remove it. This is a personal experience for me and it is not fair that a business should ask to remove a review after an apology. He probably is a good/great dentist but asking you to take down a review, I do find that request offensive and unethical. A potential patient here. I called yesterday morning as I have been experiencing a throbbing, achy pain on my topmost left molar. Gentleman I spoke to said someone will call me back at 12nn; received the call 2:36pm to get my information and said they cannot find me in the system. I told him I have both my dental card and benefits information (I pulled it from the Delta Dental website that morning) and he requested I email it to him and I will get a call back at later. I emailed it in less than 2 minutes and the end of the day - no call. I called this morning, a female picked and explained my situation over again - only to find out they cannot even accommodate me until next month. I'm here to tell you what a blessing it is to FINALLY find the right dentist!! I've been going through several oral surgeons for the last few weeks due to a highly infected tooth and spent hundreds of dollars for unnecessary x-rays and lab tests with OTHER oral surgeons to only give me two options 1) tooth extraction or 2) root canal. For this I had to spend $300 for digital imaging (which turned out I didn't need. The dentist located in Redwood City was just greedy.). Another $175 with another dentist located in San Mateo for x-rays and lab work. And $150 for yet another x-ray/office visit. In the end, I decided to have the tooth extraction. I called Dr. Soriano's office out of desperation and was glad that he answered the call. He told me to email him the X-rays (luckily I took pictures of it) and that evening he told me he can take me in the next day as his last patient. I called the office the following day and a very nice office staff helped me with the appointment. With my dental insurance, I was able to afford the cost of the tooth extraction which, by the way, was waaaayyyy lower than what the other oral surgeon's wanted to charge me! Dr. Soriano was kind, patient, and genuinely wanted to take care of my tooth problem. His staff is equally helpful and accommodating. I will be going to him for my dental needs going forward. My boyfriend cracked his tooth earlier this morning, and started freaking out and was ready to pull it out himself. I started calling dentist in the area to see if they took emergency walk-ins (mind you, it's a Sunday and most are closed). All the ones that did answer were fully booked and could not accept him right away. I then came across Soriano, and omg let me just say that were so happy with the customer service and overall experience. I called and I believe it was Dr. Soriano who answered and asked what was wrong, he told me he was going to call me back to check the schedule and let me know his soonest availability. He called me back 20 mins later (which I missed) and left me a voicemail. I called back an hour later (11am) directly to the office and I spoke to woman who let me know the soonest she could take him in was 1pm, which was perfect. My boyfriend then arrived and while he was there he was telling me how much in pain he was and wanted to just get up in leave lol. He is the best. Few months back he extracted 4 molars for my daughter who is getting her braces done at an orthodontist and he took all 4 out in less than 30 min and my daughter didn't feel much. The 5 stars don't seem adequate! I came in during COVID, so the receptionist took my temperature when I checked in and gave me a bag to put my personal items in. (Also -- they give you clean, fresh pens to fill out paperwork with!) After x-rays, Dr. Soriano explained his recommended treatment plan, prioritizing cavities that urgently needed to be addressed and an erupting wisdom tooth that has been giving me a lot of pain. We decided that the other wisdom teeth could be re-evaluated at a later date. The numbing injections were painless! Filling the cavities was sometimes uncomfortable, but only slightly so and to be fair they were monster cavities . I didn't realize he'd pulled the wisdom teeth until he told me I was done! There's a bit of pressure (nothing bad AT ALL) but you don't actually feel the tooth being pulled out. Needed my wisdom teeth pulled after months of on and off pain. My dentist suggested someone who didn't use local anesthesia, making the procedure much more expensive. Instead, I was recommended to try Dr.Soriano, hearing he used local anesthesia and did the process very quickly. They were right! Total time of my procedure was maybe 40 minutes for 2 teeth. After 25 plus years with Dr. Hwang he has sold his business and is now working 2 days a week it was time to look for a new dentist close to home. Thanks to my Yelper's I was blessed to have ran a cross Dr. Soriano right here in Newark. I actually happened to call on a day the office was closed so you know it was an intervention from Jesus himself for Dr. Soriano picked up the phone and I was able to schedule my dad for an appointment the very next day during regular business hours. My dad needed to have 2 teeth removed and like most people his age he is picky and cranky and doesn't care for change too much. What I love about Dr. Soriano is that when I initially called him he put me at ease right away. His style is very personable and he is extremely knowledgeable so when I described my dad's condition there was not a single hint of hesitation in what needed to be done to help my dad adjust to a new dentist. Dr. Soriano asked about my dad's health and age and recommended that he bring a list of his medications so that he may review them and take any precautions due to my father having a heart condition and being diabetic. What you will find about Dr. Soriano is that this man loves his job and he is great at it. His communication skills is off the chart and here is an example of that. Our appointment was at 7:00 pm which was great because I am usually dead after a mid-shift on Friday but he said that if he were to get a cancellation for an earlier time that he would call right away. Well he did and my dad was able to be seen at 2:00 pm instead. I really appreciate how quickly Dr. Soriano called for he called early enough that I would be able to still get some rest. We walked into the office and was greeted right away by Dr. Soriano and the first thing I looked was to see how my dad reacted and he was definitely at ease with Dr. Soriano. After filling out some paperwork as a new patient he brought my dad in right away and stated that it would be about 20 to 30 minutes to remove the 2 teeth and I thought hey I am going to go to Ross:} That's the great part it's near Ross LOL. What can I say we all know I love Ross LOL. When I returned my dad was actually done a little quicker than the 30 minutes and he was happy and in no pain. My dad said that Dr. Soriano numbed him up and before he knew it Dr. Soriano removed his 2 teeth and my dad said it was so painless and quick even he didn't notice that he was done. NOW that is INCREDIBLE service right? Dr. Soriano prescribed some OTC pain meds and antibiotics to prevent infection. My dad's post teeth removal; he clotted fairly quick and did not suffer any pain which is really amazing. We will be going back this upcoming week to see Dr. Soriano because he will be adding to my dad's bridge. Let's talk about some of the big issues when it comes to dentistry. My father does not have insurance and Dr. Soriano is very affordable and will work with you and still provide TOP NOTCH dental care, the other issue personally is that it is open season for me and even though the insurance states that it does PPO if your dentist does not contract with the insurance company then you cannot go to that doctor. Please keep in mind that your dentist can cancel their contract with the insurance companies at any time. Now this is how personable and genuine this doctor is. I had explained that is was open season for me and that since my dentist had sold his business that even though I had Metlife PPO High because the new owner was not contracted with MetLife I had to pay full price for my cleaning. So the following year I ended up choosing Delta Dental PPO High and I still had to pay a bit on my regular cleaning and the annual benefit with Delta was 30,000 dollars lower than Metlife. Dr. Soriano had offered to help me pick a dental plan that would best suit both Timmy and me and that we may get the max benefit from the plan. I have to say that most professionals don't have time to assist in helping any patient pick a dental insurance plan or even to offer to assist. That is the extra mile this doctor has extended to me which I am both shocked and humbled by. So guess what? I got a call back from Dr. Soriano and he was able to pick out one of the best PPO's I could get and he takes the insurance so now I will have a better plan than I did last year. :} Again, communication is very important to me and that is the reason I was with Dr. Hwang for so long. I will travel for doctor's or any service that is superior. :} If you are looking for a dentist who will listen, be compassionate, take note of your health needs, work with your insurance or work with you if you don't have insurance; please call Dr. Soriano. I see this dentist has pulled impacted wisdom teeth and has done multiple other surgeries. Yet when I call about my emergency impacted wisdom tooth causing me horrific pain. The receptionist says they aren't able to take out my impacted wisdom tooth and the best they would be able to do is get me in, in a month and the Dr can refer me to oral surgeon. read more
