I can't keep quiet any longer. The worst closing on our house possible. We closed in January and the…read morebottle of champagne remains unopened in the fridge. Our realtor,Jim Skylis, did a terrible job representing us. he lost one buyer through failure to follow up with the prospective buyer, after our counter bid. We never even found out till 3 weeks later when we called to find out the buyer moved on to another house. No box with flyers till after the window of opportunity had closed and school was getting ready to start. Also no Open Houses offered till that time.We were very flustered at his lack of communication and initiative.Once he started working at it we already had to drop our price significantly. This wasn't even the real problem. We finally got buyers for the home, but time ran out for them and they had to be out of their house before our paperwork was free and clear to close. They had nowhere to move in the meantime. We negotiated what WE thought was a fair deal for them to move into the house early at $50/day until the paperwork came through and we could close. Mr.Skylis at this point, without asking us offered them a Home Warranty Policy at our expense! When I asked him why and who he was really working for,he said he just said, "I Didn't want the house deal to fall through." At this point the buyers agent wrote a check out for $1500,which my husband and I assumed was good faith money towards the rent, but Mr.Skylis refused to take it,which was okay, but their realtor took it back! If Mr.Skylis had been representing us,instead of himself,he should have insisted we hold the check. It was like they just wrote a check to themselves! We continued to have to pay the mortgage on the home while the buyers were living there for 29 days. In the meantime we met with Mr.Skylis several times to discuss various issues that had to be taken care of.Each time we talked about the rent issue, and he said very little about it.When we got to the closing the buyers had come first, signed their papers and left, but came back for final details. We were almost done and they got ready to leave. We asked them for the rent money, and they looked at us like we were crazy. What rent? My husband said,"Did you think we were supposed to pay for you to live there for free, while we paid the mortgage? What was the $1500 for? They said they thought it was for damages in case they backed out of the deal! In the end,Mr.Skylis kept quiet through the whole thing. He knew about this and never said anything to their agent because he didn't want to lose the sale. His contract was up with us and it was his last chance. We told the buyers to leave. When we confronted Mr.Skylis with all his misrepresentation and his deliberate hiding of the rent issue he denied nothing. He said,"What do you want me to do? Write you a check for $1400?" I immediately said,"YES!" His reply was,"You will feel bad." And I said,"NO, I won't!" At that point my husband said that we were always honest people and we were going to leave it up to his conscience to do the right thing. We walked out, there was no handshake,we never even got a thank you from him.We received a thank you letter from the owner,Glen Bianchini about a week later, and it was signed and said if there was anything he could do to help call. So after waiting for Mr.Skylis conscience to kick in, and getting no result, we decided to try his boss. We thought maybe we could mediate this. We were put through to his voicemail and left two messages. My husband finally got through on a Friday around four. Mr.Bianchini said he doesn't have voicemail and never got the first two messages, then he said he knew nothing about our house sale or closing. He said he signs lots of those letters.(nice to know you are just a name in a pile of letters). We wanted to come in and discuss what happened person to person, not on the phone, with his associate,Mr.Skylis. His response to that was,"Why are you bothering me this late about a problem like this?" Then he accused my husband of yelling at him on the phone,so he would have a reason for hanging up. We considered going to the Oakland County Board of Realtors, but guess what?? Mr.Skylis sits on the Board of Realtors! How is your conscience doing,Jim???I saw there full page ad in the Advertiser that said Outstanding achievement and customer service and I said I am going to expose the REAL STORY!!! Put that in your pipe and smoke it!

BEWARE: I was…read moreterribly disappointed with how unprofessional and the lack of compassion the agent I used had from this office had. I was assured that everything would go smoothly and I could change my mind right up to the closing. Not true I ended up being sued which went on nearly a year and I was still forced to sell my home. I had to hire a lawyer to accomplish what my agent could have done if he knew more or cared to do a little research. Yet he had no problem putting his hand out taking his entire commission. Knowing that I would barely have enough money at the end to find a decent place to live.
