IF your neighbor agrees to share the cost and what trees have to be removed- that's great. That's the easy way! Our friend, The owner had a dispute about sharing the cost and who owned the trees w one neighbor. The other neighbors were wonderful. Maybe our friend needed a privacy fence? She only wanted to remove a few messy, diseased, and infested trees. When there is not a meeting of the minds...agreement with all the neighbors... That's more complicated and a survey is a really good idea!! This company answered all our questions about zoning, property lines, tree removal and cost. They outlined an example of an easy survey and a more difficult one. The price they quoted was reasonable and they started a week later. Great service, respectful of our neighbors. They drive trucks with Company logos , so you can tell What company they work for. To do the survey they will be walking around in yards looking for surveying metal pins. It's good to know they are working on a survey. As it turns out our survey was complicated. Our friend was really glad to have a clear understanding of her property lines, especially since the previous recorded survey was several decades old. She now has documentation on her property, including which trees are on what property. She was so happy they worked hard and completely figured out the accurate boundaries. Around 2 weeks later (8-6 & 8/8/24) Stacy and Amber arrived to start and finish up on our property survey. Stacy and Amber were personable and pleasant to visit. I will say they were also on their A game answering questions and explaining the process to me. On top of that, his communication with me was amazing when it came to scheduling. Most important of all, Mike is honest, trustworthy, and does what is best for the customer. My job ended up being at a point where lifting was not a viable solution. Mike could have lifted it, charged me more, and left. Instead he was honest with me and we determined it was best to tear it out and redo it. Finding good contractors is tough, finding honest ones is damn near impossible. Gave him a educated guess on the footage we needed and he gave me a rough quote. Came out next day (at 6pm, to accommodate our work schedule) and gave a real estimate. Very reasonable price to have the whole yard done. Then, dropped a couple hundred bucks off for cash (:D very awesome). Jason gave us a timeline of 3 weeks. The other companies we called either sounded irritated to be potentially booking another job in peak-fence-season, or were telling us they were so busy, it would be 3 weeks before they could send a "contractor" out just to give an estimate. J & J didn't give us any run-around, they were super quick, reasonable and accommodating. They pulled our permits, met with the city inspector; they did everything, we didn't have to worry about a thing! 3 weeks later, they put up an awesome fence, in two days (poles set Monday, fence strung Wednesday.) They were friendly, efficient and cleaned up after themselves. They even used stronger ties when they noticed we had a big dog, to make sure everything was secure. :) Great experience all around, WILL recommend!!
