So I noticed all the old reviews were deleted. ..FYI. I…read morelived here 6 years with my family and watch this place go majorly down hill. First off these are NOT luxury apartments. The kitchen is all your basic cheap laminate. Theres crown molding that only goes through half the living room and the appliances are crap. We went through 1 microwave, 2 washers, and 3 dryers. The first two dryers killed so many of our clothes because if a shirt had screen print on it the dryer would catch it and twist it up and it would have to be yanked out between the door and the part that spins the clothes. Only the downstairs units have the hard floor and door bells. The side exit gate is always broken and it would stay open for months. There's already a transient problem in that area. You have people constantly trash diggin through the dumpsters and homeless people walking in and riding their bikes through the property. Also we've come across them sleeping on our stairs at night. No night security and tons of people without parking passes would park in the lot. My car was keyed the first year living there. Constant calls to Upland PD cuz of all the ghetto people in our building fighting each other and yelling outside at 2am. The only cameras on property are over the office. And at the gates. My car was involved in a hit and run in our parking lot and the office claims they could not release or let us watch footage of the person who did it nor would they look. So instead of being able to catch who did I I had to pay for my car to get fixed. The front call box never works. I know this because my friends dropped off my kids after school during the week and could never get in. So they would have to wait till someone let them in or came out. They didn't have maintenance for a bit so having anything fixed was a waiting game. They had someone really good running their maintenance team the first few years we were there. He was the only awesome thing about that place until I heard the manager let him go. The office staff has been a revolving door as managers have changed and staff were constantly new. No one ever answers the phone or returns your message. The last 2 years we were there they hiked the rent up 10% yearly. In this complex you have to pay for trash, water, sewer. I've lived in many other apartments and never paid these things till I moved here. Also if you move out, don't clean. They take $200 out of your deposit to pay someone to come in and clean. I'm still dealing with the office on the amount we owe after move out. Even though I paid for the days on the portal I'm still being charged for more days. Plus your utilities are two months behind. So even though we are no longer there we have to pay 2 months of utilities because of their system. Stupid! Don't recommend.

I would not recommend living at this apartment complex. One of the biggest concerns is the lack of…read moresecurity. There is no fence around the property and no security cameras, despite ongoing crime. A lot happens here. In just one week, a car was stolen and another resident had their catalytic converter stolen. A lot of other incidents happen. When I was considering moving in, the manager told me the police "take good care of us," but I knew she wasnt being honest. I recently had clothing stolen from a washing machine in the on-site laundry room after someone appeared to tamper with the machine. When I reported it to management, I was essentially told there was nothing they could do. The response felt dismissive, and there was no concern for what had happened or for preventing it from happening again. If resident safety is important to you, I would think twice before signing a lease here. Management is more focused on filling units than addressing the ongoing security issues affecting residents. We're not even allowed to have cameras at our doors or inside!! There is no concern for us. They'll try to make up for their lack of security by taking care of most maintenance and repairs but if you care about your belongings, don't move here.

Save your money -- this place is not worth the price…read more The rent continues to increase while the quality of living continues to go downhill. On top of the already expensive rent, there are constant extra fees that make it feel like the only priority is squeezing more money out of residents. This property is owned by a large management company that seems to care more about profits than the people who actually live here. Parking is one of the biggest issues. There are frequent break-ins reported in the parking structure, yet residents are expected to pay even more for parking. Finding a spot is nearly impossible unless you pay for an additional reserved space. Meanwhile, the towing company is constantly patrolling, and cars are quickly towed if you don't follow the confusing parking rules. It feels less like resident convenience and more like another way to collect money. Security is also a major concern. You need a fob for almost everything, but somehow that does not stop random people from getting into the building. Packages are constantly being stolen, and residents are left dealing with the consequences. The security measures seem more like an inconvenience for paying residents rather than an actual solution. The trash rooms are consistently filthy and often left in unacceptable conditions. The parking structure is another issue -- people speed through it, creating a dangerous environment for pedestrians and other drivers. What's also concerning is that many negative reviews seem to disappear over time, which makes it difficult for potential residents to get an honest picture of what living here is actually like. For the amount of money residents pay, you would expect better management, safer conditions, and a property that actually feels cared for. Unfortunately, this place feels like another example of a large company prioritizing revenue over resident satisfaction. Aka the new account made is the Gabriel apartments

We lived at The Artisan for 7 years in two different apartments. Our first apartment (2018-2023)…read morewas the second building in from Indian Hill and was not yet renovated, but great. We were very happy there. During one particularly rainy season the ceiling leaked over the stairs but the roof was quickly repaired and it never happened again. In May 2023 we moved to a larger 4 bedroom in the building just west of the pool. We regretted this move almost immediately. In the new apartment we experienced a roach infestation and rats in the walls. Rats could be seen running around the property during the day and at night. There were also rats eating the walls inside our garage. On top of this, giant horse flies were entering our home from the attic space through a light fixture. Water pooled inside our dryer when not in use because it shared a vent with another unit next to us. Nothing could be done to fix this. It took hours and a lot of electricity to dry a single load. We experienced two major floods in our kitchen from a burst pipe almost one year apart from each other. The first was over a holiday weekend and no one responded to our plumbing emergency for hours. The remodeled new cabinetry had to be cut out and replaced and holes cut out of the wall under the sink to access very old pipes. Cardboard was placed inside to block the hole until it was repaired, however at least one rat (that we saw) managed to get into our apartment during this timeframe. The AC didn't work at all upstairs during the summer and our kids were miserable. The last thing I will mention is that the water bill was astronomically high every month. It's my opinion that there must have been leaks all over the property that renters became responsible for since all property water usage was divided between residents. Parking was limited. Once we got home from work we stayed home for the evening otherwise we would usually lose our parking space. There's no overnight parking in the city of Claremont. The property itself was quiet and peaceful. Generally safe. It's a nice place to live if you have a dog. The landscaping was always attractive and pool well maintained. The surrounding neighborhood is nice to walk in. "Luxury Apartments" definitely didn't describe our experience the last two years of living there, especially for the steep price.

I'm having a hard time believing some of these reviews are real. I've never written a review like…read morethis but I've also never lived in an apartment with such a careless leasing manager. Since moving in about 6 months ago my experience has been a nightmare dealing with Rats and huge roaches (there's been other issues but these are the biggest problems). There are rats living within my walls. The scratching and thumping coming from the bedroom walls (upstairs) keeps us up some nights. My children and I are completely disgusted, and horrified to think one of these rats will make its way into the apartment. Ricky is fully aware of my situation as I am constantly keeping him up to date with emails including videos of the sounds from my walls and photos of roaches and rats, even though I don't get a response I am still sending him emails. Pest control came out twice but the problem still persists as their only solution was to place more traps and rat poison outside of my apartment, but that doesn't stop the rats from entering into my walls. There is no sense of urgency to find the entry points and close them. I've asked what the next step is to solve the problem, no response with a solution. I finally got a response from him a couple of weeks ago after I sent yet another email about the problems still persisting and explaining that I was ready to write an honest review due to the lack of solution, and his response was him defending himself stating he has sent pest control out and that there hasn't been any recent rat activity detected on their end, sounded like he was insinuating that I'm lying. Clearly there IS recent rat activity as I am still sending new photos and videos of the rats and roaches. Pest control has sprayed my apartment, but it's done nothing for the roaches. Waking up to huge roaches every morning has been depressing, my son recently saw one on his pillow so he slept on the couch because he was grossed out. Moving here was a complete waste of my time and money and I'm counting down the days to move out of here.

On move in date I waited in the rain with my daughter for them to open and get our keys only to be told I was not scheduled and that person I spoke to no longer worked there. When getting my keys a lot of issue where never taken care of, door jammed and was hard to open, broken refrigerator drawer, sink hose loose and smelly, no storage key to lock up, laundry room door didn't shut, ect. Maintence was horrible. Trash area would pile up to where you couldn't get to the trash bins without climbing a mountain of trash (I have since heard they finally scheduled more picks ups to help resolve this issue, not sure why it took them so long to do that). I had an incident where my daughter got extremely sick after a pool day and I figured maybe she drank some pool water and it upset her tummy but she was so weak, stomach pains, diarrhea, vomiting, and sleeping all day. We phone the doctor and by the next day she seemed much better. Few days later we went to the pool and noticed a health inspector testing the water and I over heard him tell maintence that their was NO CHLORINE in the pool. He then came over and said I recommend you get your kids out the pool. They then closed it down claiming they were closing due to some regular maintence. I looked up symptoms for getting ill due to no chlorine in pool and was horrified to see that my baby basically swam in poop infected water and thats what made her sick. When bringing it up I was told they were never aware of no chlorine in the pool it was news to them. Prior to move in I took my dog to get groomed and all was good. After moving in I started to noticed him itchy all the time and at first put it off as stress from the move. When bathing him again he was infested with fleas. Month after month I tried everything from weekly baths, flea shampoos, on guard, professional groomer's, nothing gave. After moving out it only took 2 months to get rid of his fleas completely and he has been flea free for almost a year now. I had an incident where I seen a roach and immediately made them away to have it sprayed and taken care of. They did send pest right away and the guy asked some questions. Was asked if our furniture was new or old because sometimes it can come from other places. I mention everything was brand new when moving in. I seen a roach inside of our stove clock, yes inside, so I pulled the oven out to see if there were crumbs on the floor to clean up and noticed some holes in the wall behind the stove. I made the complex aware of these holes that were suppose to be patched and they never came to patch them up. Luckily pest came quite a few times and I didn't have an issue with roaches. Thankfully it wasn't up to maintence to resolve that or it would have been a different story. Our shower tub constantly got plugged and the water would not drain. I messaged them and after a week of waiting decided to take care of it myself and when I messaged them that I took care of it they decided to send someone over that same day to take care of it. Our tub got flooded every like 3 months in which I gave up asking and we would just snake it ourself. I do not have so much hair for it to clog the drain and I am careful not to let my hair go in the drains. My new complex hasn't been clogged not once. When our washer broke down a week passed by before I went to see what was going on only to see that maintence put it was resolved. I had to go to the laundry mat to wash. When I let the office know I was extremely upset as not only does that cost money but time and ask that they reimburse me they did agree and had my washer replaced. It was still a disappointment that it just wasn't done to begin with. Upon moving out we were charged so much for so called cleaning fees and repairs. Let me tell you I have always gotten my deposits back in full. We leave the place clean and to be honest better than when they handed us the keys. You cant argue charged because it goes to the maintence guy Trent who is the one who charges the fees and according to office no one is above him if you come to a disagreement. They took most of our deposit and office had the nerve to say well you are getting a good amount back still. I had to correct her and tell her what I am getting back is the deposit for the rent in case we didn't make the rent because of the lower credit score we had to leave 2 months deposit that had nothing to do with the deposit for damage and repairs. They legally could not take the rent portion as we made all our payments. A friend of mine had a whole issue with mold in her complex. I would not recommend this place and if so I advise you document everything for your and your families safety. Seek legal advice if you have to as I do regret not doing this for myself and my family.
