For nearly two months, I was the one making phone call after phone call trying to get answers about my truck. I called so often that employees knew exactly who I was when I called, yet getting a return phone call was nearly impossible. Updates were inconsistent, communication was poor, and I constantly felt like I was chasing information that should have been provided proactively. What bothered me most was the complete lack of accountability. When concerns were raised, I felt dismissed rather than helped. Instead of taking ownership of the situation, there always seemed to be an excuse, another delay, or another reason why nobody could provide clear answers. After nearly two months in their possession, I was told the truck needed a transmission replacement costing approximately $5,000. Thankfully, I chose to get a second opinion before authorizing that repair. The second mechanic diagnosed the actual problem as a speed sensor and repaired it the same day. No transmission replacement was needed. After all that time, another shop was able to identify and fix the issue within hours. To make matters worse, additional issues were discovered after the truck was returned, including an improperly reinstalled wheel well liner, broken fasteners, and an oil leak that was not present before the truck went into their shop. These concerns were communicated to both the service department and dealership management, which is why it was frustrating to later see claims that they were never brought to anyone's attention. The most frustrating part is reading the dealership's public response and seeing statements that do not match my experience. I know how many times I called. I know the concerns that were reported. I know what was communicated to me, and I know what happened afterward. When a business cannot be honest about the facts of a situation, it becomes very difficult to trust anything else they say. The facts remain simple: my truck sat in their shop for nearly two months, I was presented with a costly repair recommendation that turned out to be unnecessary, communication throughout the process was unacceptable, additional issues were discovered after the truck was returned, and when concerns were raised, accountability was nowhere to be found. If you're facing a major repair recommendation from this dealership, do yourself a favor and get a second opinion before spending your hard-earned money. I did, and it saved me thousands of dollars.

We were greeted by a man named Butch Petersen, who I treated like I do all salesmen - as someone who stood between me and my goal (the perfect car for Devanie). It very quickly became apparent we were dealing with someone who was not your average car salesman, so on a hunch I asked if he was somehow related to my longtime friend Grant Peterson, who I got to know when I was involved with the local Better Business Bureau Board in 1991. (Grant is owner of the Bronco Motors group of car dealerships - the only place I've bought my cars since 2008 because of the honesty and integrity with which Grant operates his dealerships.) Butch's answer changed everything. Turns out Butch's father and Grant's father started Fairly Reliable Bob's together, not primarily as a money making business, but to be able to serve the local community. That is still their mission today. Fairly Reliable Bob's operate with a laser focus on serving their community with excellence and integrity, and everything else takes care of itself. And Butch Peterson was the owner and general manager of Fairly Reliable Bob's - a man who walks the talk. Long story very short, Butch found the *perfect* car for Devanie, answering all her questions to make *her* feel confident as well. He explained some of the many benefits of purchasing a car at Fairly Reliable Bob's, including a repair shop that is run as a not-for-profit company so all parts are charged at cost, hourly rates are less than half of other repair shops, and loaner cars are always free. Butch sent a trailer at his expense to pick up Devanie's trade in (which would not start), gave Devanie a fair deal on the new car, and arranged an unheard of interest rate for someone with no credit by working with a local bank **and having Fairly Reliable Bob's cosign the loan** for her. There are far too many things that astounded me about character and integrity of this business to go into here. I test…read moredrive my vehicle and it drove amazing and everything seemed great.... till it wasn't not even 24 hrs after getting the car the back middle seatbelt had plastic on it so we took it off and they were trying to cover a almost completely cut seatbelt. Then next the check engine light came on, mass air flow sensor. Reached out to them to see if they would fix it. Mind you the way these men spoke to me as a female was absolutely horrible. I was extremely uncomfortable. Then left me without a vehicle stranded in boise for almost 6 hours with 2 children while they "fixed" the seat belt and checked the check engine light. Then when I went to pick it up nobody even spoke to me or told me what they did or were going to do about the other issue. They didnt even put my back seats back together and I had to try and figure that out while wrestling 2 kids. They never reached back out. Now only 2 months after getting the vehicle and having it ran through by mechanics there seems to be way more that was wrong with it that is going to cost me thousands more dollars to fix. I dont understand why people wont just do the right thing and take care of the situation. Clearly these little boys do not know how to do business or treat a woman. Won't ever get my business or anyone I know ever again.
