I asked Neil to do an incredibly challenging task of turning an old antique dresser into a gorgeous bathroom vanity with a marble top and vessel sink addition. He knew just the right people(plumber and granite supplier, but he did the rest!) to get this kind of random and intricate work completed within a reasonable amount of time. They did not have to micromanage his work and he followed through with pick up, delivery, and installation as he said he would. So reliable and professional, just WOW! I have owned and leased my homes for the past decade. I have always been my own property manager so I have dealt with numerous contractors but most of my experiences have been very very negative and discouraging. I was hesitant to move forward with this contractor because he had very few reviews, but I am so glad that I did because this has been the best repair/installation/creative collaboration experience I have had as a property manager and house owner ever. Micky asked all the right questions about space utilization, was I left- or right-handed, and how much and what storage layout would work the best for my family. Reasonably priced extras available were glass front cabinets (multiple options for glass designs), spice rack, wine storage and refrigerator space, lazy Susan, extra shelves provided, standard soft close cabinets, drink refrigerator station and more. I wanted my cabinets the same color on the inside as on the outside (custom), and the ones on display in the box stored are light wood on the inside regardless of the outside color. When I mentioned this to Micky, he said "Great, less work for my crew to have to tape off inside the cabinets", and I got what I wanted. No one else has cabinets just like mine. After we had placed a cabinet order, my husband and I were walking through Lowe's and saw the new thin cabinets build on the side a refrigerator as part of a cabinet display. I took a picture and texted it to Micky asking to add one to our order. Immediately he called, said yes, adding, "That's what custom is." We have a dining room, and yet even on holidays we find ourselves eating at the 10' island, which is half storage and half stools. Friends and relatives ask who "designed" our kitchen and it was Micky that made it so easy. When placing an order know that custom can take time to build and be flexible. I will buy cabinets from Micky again, it's just a matter of when and for where.

If you are fortunate enough to get a call back, be prepared for a litany of hollow promises and excuses as to why they haven't gotten around to it yet. They have quite a few at the ready to keep stringing you along. Then they just stop responding. So unless you want to make a non-refundable, non-tax deductible contribution to the Mickey chain-smoking fund, find someone else. My personal experience is that I put down $500 in early August, 2022, for three doors, two drawers, and a false front on a bathroom vanity. The estimate was that it would take a couple of weeks. He got them made (his word) and was concerned about making an exact color match. So I bought him a quart of the same stain used on the vanity. That was the last time I saw him. He claimed to have them ready to be installed in early November. Then the excuses started. In his mild defense he had to move his production facility from Norfolk to Portsmouth. Then about twice a month he'd tell me that he'd send an installer on Thursday or Friday. I heard that through March. He even said that he'd do it personally on his way home to NC or even make an exception and do it on a Saturday. That obviously never happened. Then one day he hung up on me and that was the last time he took my call. I've repeatedly called and left messages without response. I could have gone to a trade school and learned how to do it by now. I should have looked at reviews instead of taking the recommendation of another cabinet maker who referred me. Unless you like aggravation and being frustrated, take your business elsewhere.

Anyway, after a few days go by I called the office to enquire about it and was told that I will get it shortly. That was Friday. On Monday I still hadn't got it so I sent an Email request. I'm thinking they must be so busy that they didn't care about my job. It was 60 sq feet of countertop. Well, the response I got back was not only rude but she decided to tack on an extra $1500 to the estimate with a snide remark about really looking forward to doing business with me. Cat, the designer, was fantastic to work with--knowledgeable, responsive, and easy to communicate with. We were pleasantly surprised by how quickly we were able to get on the schedule, and at that point, we felt confident we had chosen the right company. Unfortunately, once the work began, it became clear that the quality of the initial installation was not acceptable. The shower pan did not drain properly, the original 20-year-old liner was not replaced, and there were a number of cut corners that raised serious concerns. It was disappointing, especially given the cost and our expectations going into the project. That said, what truly turned the experience around was how the company handled these issues. Aaron and Noah stepped in and responded in a very professional and accountable way. They took our concerns seriously and committed to making things right. A new crew was brought in, and the difference was night and day. The second crew was professional, efficient, and clearly took pride in their work. They redid the project properly, addressed all previous issues, and delivered a final result that we are genuinely happy with. While the process had its hiccups, the company's willingness to stand behind their work and correct mistakes restored our confidence. In the end, we are very pleased with the finished bathroom and appreciate the effort it took to get there.
