Ok experience overall. Here's the break down…read more Materials were suppose to arrive on a Tuesday and did not. They arrived on Wednesday, the day of the job. There were 8 guys that worked on my roof which was quite impressive. They did rip off the old roof very quickly, however, were a bit careless with dropping the old shingles. For example, they dropped a big piece of shingle on my ac unit and it left a mark on it. They also dented one of my gutters. They did do a good job ripping the old roof off and nailing down the excess nails. When installing the new shingles, they did it quit quickly, however, they did a very good job. The shingles were straight, cut correctly at the edges, and over all looked great. The last part of the job was installing my new ridge vent. I briefly watched parts of this process. It looked like it started off right, but ended very poorly. The top board is technically suppose to be cut out leaving 4 inches on both sides. Instead, they busted it out leaving an uneven opening and made a mess with the broken peices of wood in my attic. Furthermore, the ridge vent was suppose to stretch across the entire ridge, edge to edge. The ridge was extended to the edge on the left side (looking at the house) and stopped approximately 3-4 inches from the edge on the right side. Not only was this very preventable and easy to do, it was a huge eye-soar looking at it. Lastly, there were paint chips on the fascia from the shingle removal that they did not paint to fix. After explaining this punch list to the owner, they looked at the gutter and attempted to try to touch it up and failed miserably. They did clean up the ac unit. The owner had one of his foreman go up and nail another shingle to the end of the ridge vent to make it look a little better. This not only seemed like a cheap and lazy way to correct a mistake that should have been avoided to begin with, but also showed the poor workmanship this company provided me with and the poor expectations of the owner. I have called since to tell them I was dissatisfied with the ridge vent and the foreman is suppose to come back out to fix it correctly. I will keep you updated on whether or not this happens and if it's done correctly. Overall would definitely not use again. I would not recommend to a friend. After paying 4600 dollars for a roof and got mediocre service and quality, I am quite unsatisfied. Should have gone with the well known company. ***It looks like they came back out today (7/12/11) and fixed the ridge vent. It looks a lot better and like it should have to begin with. I am satisfied with it minus the installation process.

Let me start off…read moreby saying what a pleasure it was to work with Bryon (owner and salesman), and his installers (work for the company and not contracted out, also his sons). They were incredibly professional, communication was excellent, and the windows are made right here in the USA! The cost was much lower than other companies in the area because they don't contract their work out, they don't have to pay a salesman commission, etc. The installers brought in drop cloths to protect my floors while pulling out the old windows. They worked very efficiently (keep in mind it's December), and they put the new windows up as quickly as possible so as not to have a gaping hole to let all the heat out. I got prairie grids in all my front windows, which are gorgeous! I also got Solar screens installed which help to block out the heat in the summer before it ever hits your windows which equals major efficiency. They are full screens with double hung windows; I can pull the windows down from the top and not have to worry about rain (where I have an overhang). We got a frosted type of glass in our bathroom and no longer have to keep blinds up that will get nasty due to the humidity. Just couldn't be happier with everything! Excellent customer service, high quality, professionalism, cost. Very happy customer!

On June 14 2014 I signed a contract with Artown Roofing & Contracting for roof and gutter…read morereplacement. The sales representative for the contract was Dustin Curtis the son of the companies owners Cheryl and Daryl Curtis. Over the course of the next month and a half Dustin worked to insure that materials were delivered and the work was completed. Dustin was out to my home several times during this period for the initial inspection, meeting with the insurance adjuster, to collecting the down payment so the materials could be ordered and the work started. Although he was not present during the replacement he did stop by each evening of the 2 days that it took to complete the roof and again when the gutters were installed. After all work was completed he stopped by a final time to collect the balance of money. He had me make out the check to him which seemed odd but since he was the only representative of the company and since it was his families business I followed his instructions. He signed a receipt showing payment in full and also provided a lien waiver for work and materials, this occurred on July 30. On Aug. 18th I received a call from Cheryl Curtis, this was my first contact with Cheryl and she informed me that Dustin was no longer working for her and that I owed her for the balance of the work. I agreed to meet with her the following day to discuss the matter, she told me that her and her husband were divorcing and that he had convinced Dustin to work with him rather than her and that they had stolen money for work completed by her company for multiple jobs. Although I was very sympathetic to her I told her that I felt like this was a civil issue between her and Dustin. Up until Aug. 18th Dustin was the only person that I had contact with and because each step of the process happened just and he indicated I had no reason to question his instructions for the final payment. I gave her copies of the check, receipt showing payment in full and the lien waiver. I also told her that she should have contacted each of her customers that were working with Dustin immediately after he left her company to let us know that he no longer represented Artown Roofing & Contracting. I also asked if she had filed a police report for Dustin's theft, she indicated that she hadn't and didn't know whether she would or not since he was her son. On August 28th I received a message from Cheryl that she spoke to her attorney and that I still owed her for the balance and that she would be by to pick up the check and if I didn't pay she would place a lien the home. I immediately returned her call to let her know that she was not welcome at my home and reminder her this was between her and her son.
