My partner made the mistake of helping cover some of the contractor's expenses upfront, and the project was never finished. We were left with doors that don't open, doors held on with liquid nails, unfinished cabinets, a dented dryer, and incomplete painting throughout the laundry room. After paying, the contractor sent a Formal Notice of Termination and left the job in an unacceptable state. His contract stated (the project is substantially complete) whatever that means.... We recently had our basement finished by Meyer Contracting and are very pleased with the results…read more We sat down with five different contractors before choosing Meyer. After meeting the crew that came out on day one, we knew we made the right choice. We also could tell that everyone on the crew enjoyed their job and the company they worked for. The entire process was very smooth from start to finish and everyone who showed up to do the work were very kind and professional. We were kept informed with what work would be done each day and they stuck to the schedule as promised. David Neu originally came out and listened to what we wanted, added a few great suggestions, put together and sent us a very detailed drawing of what the finished project would look like. He also explained the entire process from start to finish. He made us feel comfortable with having Meyer as our contractor. He was very kind and sociable and had a great sense of humor. Our project was completed as promised with only a few very minor touch-up items at the end which they promptly took care of. We were amazed with how clean they kept everything with so much construction going on. They take pride in their work and made sure we were completely satisfied with everything. The office staff (Rachael and Sara) were very kind and helpful with all of our question when we called. Overall, we are completely satisfied, and we would highly recommend Meyer to anyone looking for a home restoration project. Jesse and Pixie H.

Absolutely do not recommend Leave it to Weaver. We had our basement finished by them years ago and…read morewhat should have taken 6 weeks stretched into almost 6 months. They said they would show up on a certain day, and I would wait and wait, for them to never come. They would make major mistakes (walls less than square, easily off by 10 degrees) and then, instead of fixing them, they would wait for me to notice and then ask me what I wanted them to do!?! My answer: fix it! They tiled our fireplace and it was down to the last tile--but it was broken in three places. Did they go get another? Nope! They put it in place and "glued" it together with grout. Yes, it looked like cr*p, but they did not care! They spilled paint on the new carpet and used mineral spirits to clean it up, but must have poured an entire can on it because the smell was so overwhelming all the way upstairs to the second floor, that we had to open all the windows to air out the house for days. They were to build built-in bookcases, but by the end of the project (months beyond when they should have finished), I just wanted them out of my house! Then, the cherry on top, was months later as my kids were playing downstairs, I went to get something out of the upper cabinet, above the countertop area in the playroom, and as I opened the door, the cabinet literally fell off the wall and hit the countertop!! They failed to secure the cabinet into a stud and it was literally screwed into drywall! If one of my kids had been sitting there drawing at the counter, they surely would have been severely injured. In addition to all this was the owner's attitude--he thought nothing of lying to your face, if it saved him some headache in the moment. I learned early in the process that his word meant nothing. So due to all the above mentioned issues, I would NOT recommend Leave it to Weaver, and if you decide to use them anyway, proceed with extreme caution and get everything (project end date, how they will rectify mistakes, how they will compensate you if they go significantly beyond the projected end date, etc) in writing!
