I first visited Dr. Walls to check out a swollen lymph node/pain in my neck. The wait time was reasonable. My appointment with the doctor only lasted about 5 minutes. He came in the room, felt my neck and looked in my throat. At first glance, he told me my tonsils needed to come out. He didn't really explain why I needed to cut them out, but told me that they are causing the trouble. He is a soft spoken man. And his attitude does come off as gentle, but almost in a condescending way. Ill explain: After telling me that I needed surgery (at 24yrs old), he left the room. The nurse came back in and gave me a paper on TMJ. (jaw grinding). I asked if the Dr. was done or if was coming back in the room so she went got him. When he came back in he seemed frustrated that I wanted more clarification.
He said, "A few moments ago, I gave you my recommendation and it hasn't changed since I was in the room a moment ago."
It kind of made me feel like i was wasting his time asking for clarification. But, at 24 yrs old, with a $5k health insurance deductible. I want to know i am solving problems before i pay out for surgery.
This was the last time I saw Dr. walls. I scheduled the surgery and he cut part of my throat out on the 18th of November. But I never saw him before or after the procedure. He prescribed me the same amount of medicine I assume he would prescribe a 6 yr. old going through the same thing. A bottle of liquid hydrocodone. Since the office doesn't do follow up appointments, i have been sure to call and speak with his nurse a couple of times. Once to ask for more drugs because 4 days worth is enough for children but not adults. As of today, the original issue i was having still exists. But, im giving it a couple more weeks since i may still be healing. read more
