Now it's an only reservations, no walk ins with a pretty easy booking process online. I told her it was my first time in, and she seemed very pleased with that. They were playing good music (classic rock) which created a nice atmosphere. The decor is mostly Joliet and Chicago centric, though I didn't have the feeling I was in a sports-centric place like some chain competitors, and I thought it was cool that they had a lot of local knowledge in the room there. I mean, a Frank Lloyd Wright book was on the coffee table in the waiting area. Old-school comfortable barber chairs, like you don't find in today's salons. One nice thing about this particular barber was she didn't move the chair at all while I was on it. I'm not sure if it was on purpose or not, but I noticed it. Way more comfortable than some of the people that seem to whip you around on those things. She also didn't invade my "space" like most seem to do. You get the neck shave at the end with a hot towel, which is also a rarity these days and a nice touch. It was $23, which may be a little higher than some in the area for a men's cut. I feel like I got my money's worth here. It's one of the best cuts I've gotten in a long time, for sure in this town.
