We have been eating there for 3 years and in the past year, the quality of food and service has deteriorated greatly. My husband and I went there last week and sat at the bar. While we were trying to enjoy our drinks, a couple came in with their child (approximately 5-6 years old). They were told they could sit at the bar. Unfortunately, they sat right by us. Now mind you, we usually eat at the bar so that we don't have to sit by children, who can easily be loud while playing. The mother took out her phone and put some kind of movie on for the child...putting the volume up very high. We were shocked!! Two of the bar tenders apparently knew the couple and the child, so they were huddled over the bar chatting for a while, along with the movie playing for the child. At one point, I had to ask the mother to please turn the volume down. She didn't say a word, but did turn the volume down. Children should not be allowed to sit at the bar...I'm pretty sure that is the law! I ordered 6 oysters, and my main dish was shrimp. Out of the 6 oysters, 2 of them were really, really bad and fishy tasting. When my main course arrived, I literally only ate 2 of the shrimps (there were probably 15 or so provided). The shrimp was extremely salty and not eatable. When we asked for our check, my husband told the bartender about my food and that the shrimps couldn't be eaten. She stated she would take it off the bill. When the bill came, the meal was not taken off. My husband asked her about it and she said the owner wouldn't allow it. They lost loyal patrons that day! This was by far the best place we visited while dinning in Crystal River. The food was fantastic. We had lunch which was the steak melt and oh boy get ready to eat as this was huge. While staying in Crystal River for the weekend, we found the dining options slim, but I'm so glad we found Kelly's!!! We ordered take out on Saturday and brought it back to our hotel. The food exceeded our expectations significantly!! Everything was delicious, flavored well, and packaged nicely for a convenient take out. We had a dozen oysters as an appetizer (we ordered cooked ones because we had chosen take out.) We had six Rockefeller and six Kilpatrick. My boyfriend liked the Rockefeller more and I liked the Kilpatrick more. They were both so good my mouth is watering just thinking about them the next day! I had the lobster roll and substituted the chips for their homemade coleslaw instead. The cucumber coleslaw had an Asian/citrus twist to it with crunchy wontons pieces on top. Is honestly go back again just for the coleslaw it was so good (but a little heavy on the red onion so I ate around those a bit.) The lobster roll had HUGE pieces of lobster and the bread was seasoned and toasted to perfection! If you like lobster rolls you have to try theirs!!! My boyfriend had the Waygu burger which he said had a really unique flavor, a nice bun, and it was really big! He had their fries as his side and they too exceeded expectations for pub fries. The oysters were great if you're wanting a 2 1/2 medium sized Gulf oyster for $1 a piece at the M-F HH from 4-6 pm. They are shucked clean and served properly over ice. The beers are a bit pricey at $7.25 for a Harps or on HH $6.25 (16 oz). If they tell you it's 20 oz then challenge them to measure it! $5.50 for a pint HH Guinness Stout. Pricey for beer. The food was good. The beer was cold. The service was good. The place was clean. The fish and chips were tasty, but again a bit on the high end for a 1/3 pound of cod (1 filet) and medium fries at $12.95 so be ready for a $80 bill if you order 4 beers, 1 meal, and 30 oysters. Service is almost always good, even when they are shorthanded (as many places are these days). Their calamari is one of my favorites; calamari steak is cut into thick strips, very lightly breaded and served with jalapeño slices and two different dipping sauces... Delish!. We visited after a chilly morning of Manatee watching. My boyfriend loves Irish food and I love Oysters so this place was perfect for us. Now let's talk about the experience.. fist of all, we visited at about 1:30 pm on a Sunday. We were excited to try the lobster bisque but were told it 'wouldn't be ready till later in the day' which is odd when it's a house specialty to only offer it in the late afternoon when it's on your menu. Secondly, for an Irish bar, it's kind of odd that they don't have a whiskey list. We asked our server if they had a few different options and she told us we could go up to the bar and look at what bottles were on the shelf... which is super unhelpful when you have no idea how different spirits are priced. I also asked if they had Tullamore to which she said 'no we don't ha ve that...' I ordered a beer instead. When she walked away I realized there was a freaking Tullamore add sitting on the table offering multiple types of the beverage. I pointed that out to the server when she returned and she just said 'ohh....' And stared at me. Pretty awful service. If you don't know your product and bar, say so. When things are pointed out to you, rectify it and offer that beverage. After our server who was off to a rough start finally returned with 2 draft beers... took at least 8 minutes and there was only 1 other table and 2 patrons at the bar and 3 other servers in the restaurant, we were now getting frustrated. We ordered some oysters 2 ways and a shepherds pie and the burger. The burger was over cooked but juicy. Oysters were yummy. Pricy but yummy. The shepherds pie was average but it was warm and filling. The food was enjoyable enough to give them another try one day. The waitress finally returned after quite a while, we were done eating, to ask how things were. The BF ordered a beer to drink while we waited to checkout. I would have ordered another but she came while I was in the bathroom so no second beer for me. Overall, the food was good. The location was easy to find and the beers were cold. Service could use some training. We would have happily drank multiple drinks and doubled our bill if she had just given proper service. read more

We found this place by chance...omg...GOOD find!! This place is small so prepare for a wait unless you don't mind eating at the bar ( we don't mind at all). It was PACK at 5:00 on a Tuesday, what does that tell ya? The crowd had thinned out a bit by 6:30 but people continued to come in. We ordered an assortment: Reuben Egg Rolls - delicious, served with thousand island on the side for dipping. Seared tuna sashimi: Very good, I did miss a little ginger on the side and no wasabi for the soy sauce - minor, really. Guinness poutine- again, delicious. No skimping on the cheese or gravy, piping hot, very good. Garlic parm wings - The only partially disappointing item. Wings were cooked quite well, but the "garlic parm" aspect was definitely kind of on the light side. That said - everything came out piping hot, nothing was cookie cutter sisco truck, all good. My first time here and I won't come back. The worst part is that it had nothing to do with the food or drinks. The oysters and drinks we got were great. The bar was busy, but not busy enough that 2 bartenders couldn't handle it. Our bartender was quick rushing us to order and then left every time one of the four people in our party ordered something, not even getting our full order. Then, she would get upset seemingly when we ordered more things when she came back, but we would have ordered them all at once if she stood still for just a minute to get the whole party's drink orders. 3/4 of us got beers, so it wasn't like we were all ordering super complicated mixed drinks. There is no reason we should have to ask 3 times for a glass of water at a bar. Anytime we made a joke or tried to be nice, it was shut down with seriousness and was not what we expected in an Irish bar of all places. We shouldn't feel like a burden at a bar when we are spending money and time there. Would have spent way more time here if we felt welcome; would have tipped way more as well. read more
