My Husband and I went into the restaurant to have dinner and a couple drinks. Our waiter was friendly and attentive (I forgot his name). We were in there less than 10 minutes when a bus boy (grown man) started cleaning the table next to us and I jokingly said to him "Oh, Sir, you missed a spot. No, I'm just kidding, just kidding!" and then I started laughing, thinking he would giggle, too. Instead of that, he turned to me (extremely rudely and close to my face) and said "If you don't like the way I do it, then do it yourself!" I was so shocked. I was totally just joking and his rudeness was so uncalled for, in my opinion. I mentioned what had happened to the Manager and he said "I'll monitor his attitude." He just killed my mood at that point and we left. BTW, we only had 1 drink each and we did tip our waiter almost 30% because the rudeness was not on him. read more

Stopped in for a snack mid day and the place was packed. My first time there. Plenty of parking as it's in a strip mall. Business first. The restrooms are clean and well maintained. When I was seated I got my silverware and I have to tell you that it was clean and polished like I very rarely see anymore in a restaurant. We just wanted a snack and the menu made the choice difficult. Lots of small shareable items. We settled on the lobster fries and all I can say is wow. The fries were perfect and topping them with a lobster dressing is incredible. I'm really not sure what to call it but it had chunks of lobster in a sauce that was just delicious. And generous portions too. The menu had lots of interesting things on it and we will certainly be back to try several of them. My wife and I are not drinkers but I must say that the bar had more liquor bottles on the wall than I have ever seen anywhere before. I'm sure they could make you any drink you could think of. Worth a trip from anywhere! And our waiter Keenan, was very good at his job. He told us that he had been working there for 4 years and he seemed to enjoy what he was doing. Kelly's is our #1 place to go in crystal river over the past 6 years. Food is always delish and we have never had a bad meal. Our go to is the boiled shrimp with lots of spices and the best cocktail sauce ever! Service is spot on and again never had a bad waitstaff. read more

Always love the food here. We mainly come for the Oysters. Oysters are always fresh. Disappointed to see they removed all of the oyster options from the menu leaving only raw and two others. My husband and I have been told this place was a good little spot to eat and get a drink at. They were right! The ambience was great. I said little spot but they are pretty roomy for seating. Waiting though on a Friday night was a little crammed. But when you have a good little spot like this it can be tough to arrange more room for everyone. Drinks were tasty. We both got a signature margarita. Our food was yummy. They Lobster Bisque was some of the best I've had! We shared a tuna sashimi app. I got their version of "Bang Bang Shrimp." Yummy! My husband got their Philly Cheesesteak. He enjoyed it. Big portions for their price. Our server was efficient and nice! Which is key to me for a great dining experience. If there is a God out there, they most definitely blessed this place and its kitchen! My God is the food here good! To start off, the food was Amazing! My family and I got 1/2 dozen of the Kelly oysters, and a 1/2 dozen of the Punzo (raw) oysters. Personally, I prefer the baked oysters, but if you like them raw, the Punzo certainly won't disappoint. The burger I got was Thick. And I mean THIQUE! Like, thicka than Megan Thee Stallion, m'kay?! Definitely worth every penny. For a grand total of around $80 (for 3 people, mind you) we are definitely coming back here! The service was very welcoming and friendly. All of the staff seemed knowledgeable and knew what they were doing. The restaurant definitely had that pub feel to it. But not bootleggy fist-fight boutta break out feel, y'know? Sports bar atmosphere with dinner offerings at the next level. Interesting daily specials including $5 Jamison's shots all day every day. My wife and I shared the fish and chips which was a generous, well prepared dish. Our friends enjoyed the oysters and I had the lobster french fries, a generous portion of lobster and cheese topping over their house made fries. I thought the topping made the fries a little soggy but it was tasty and I would order it again. The servers are attentive and knowledgeable and we were a party of eight that were seated after a short wait on St Patty's day. Great little pub. Been there several times and I always get the same meal which I never can get anywhere else- Maine lobster roll which is really good. Their potato wedges which come with their meals are also good. My husband always gets fish and chips which he also says is really good. The staff there are really courteous. One word: DELICIOUS. We were four and all came out of there raving about how good the food was. Still raving about it today and we ate there yesterday. I had the tuna sashimi and it was perfect. The slices were cut big enough to feel meaty but thin enough so you don't feel grotesque eating. The tuna melted in your mouth and the flavor of the drizzle was yummy without taking away from the tuna itself. It was seared perfectly on the edges. The cusabi slaw (cucumber wasabi coleslaw) was good and refreshing but wasn't impactful to be honest. The presentation of it all, however, was lovely. The rest of my party ordered mixed matched oysters, fish and chips and irish poutine, and were on cloud 9. The service was great. Friendly waitress who was very attentive to us and polite. We love this place. Great ambience for a local pub and the staff are always lovely and friendly. We absolutely LOVE their burgers. We have had their original and now the Kelly burger. After a long day of kayaking at Crystal River, we were famished! As the moon, stars and all the planets aligned, we came across Kelly's Half Shell Pub. I would drive the hour and a half every single week if I could to eat here. You don't understand! This was my first time having oysters, and I couldn't pass up their incredible deals. I will admit I don't have anything to compare it to, but they were simply delicious. I could write a poem to the Shepherd's Pie with the side of Cuban bread. IT WAS SO AMAZING. Nothing compares, however, to the incredible Reuben egg rolls. It was something I didn't know I needed in my life, but they're a must! I had a drink that was refreshing and tasty. The old fashioned was perfect also. I'm telling you, if you're ever in the area or maybe not... MAKE THE DRIVE. You have to try this place. It needs to be near the top of your list, if not the top. Discovered Kelly's due to our manatee tour guide recommending them. Our party of 4 all LOVED our meals!!!! We got the shepherd's pie (the best my adult son has ever had, he said), the fish and chips (excellent cod and coating said my Scottish dad), the lobster bisque (absolute best my mom has ever had) and finally, the chicken tenders (tender and excellent coating). The rustic fries are delicious. My mom is a key lime pie connoisseur and was thoroughly impressed with the obviously homemade pie). Regarding the ambience, the music could be heard but it did not interfere with conversation, which is unusual for a bar/pub. The football games were on tv without sound but there were plenty of people watching them. It was such a treat eating the delicious food and being a part of a local establishment for a couple of hours. If you are in the area, Kelly's is a MUST DO for lunch or dinner~ read more

In town to go scalloping and found this restaurant via yelp and the reviews were promising. This place is definitely a dive tucked away in a shopping center but once you enter it is so inviting. There was live music and our server was friendly and attentive even with a rush of customers. We ordered drinks, oysters (6 different ways) for the table as well as chicken tenders, Brussels and peel and eat shrimp. Everything was served promptly and had a great presentation. The drinks were delicious, well priced and presented well. There really are no cons from our visit the only think I would warn about is the peel and eat shrimp appear to have curry in the seasoning so my white manicure was yellow after but wouldn't let that stop me from ordering again. read more

I got a Kelly's Burger and Key Lime pie. That was seriously the best pie I ever had, and that burger was easily one of the top as well. Even the roll I was told came from a local bakery - so soft and biscuit like - complimented the whole sandwich. It literally melted in your mouth. With both items, I could tell a lot of experimentation and patience went into developing them... because it wasn't the standard burger or pie I would get at a chilies for example. There were a lot of custom components to it which made it unique. That pie was not overly tart or sweet, but was just the right amount. Compliments to the chef. Most us probably associate the name pub with the forewords British or Irish, officially it's defined as a simple bar or tavern other times the description can be a little puzzling especially when it's lacking the cultural interpretation or maybe there's a hint of significance in the name whether by intent or a marketing ploy either way I suspect this one's authentic. We arrived half past 7:00 PM on a recent Saturday, as you'd expect in this post pandemic era it was packed with patrons, theres no hostess station but when the door creaks open the staff here pays attention, we were immediately greeted by an employee closes to the door then grabbed a seat on the sofa in the small inviting waiting area. I quickly scanned the bar and dining area and there was not an open seat in the house, even though the friendly member of the staff told us the wait should be less than ten minutes I expected a much longer wait. As we waited a few more customers arrived and a few smokers exited to grab a few tokes leaving their drinks unattended but topped with a coaster at the bar to ensure the bartenders didn't mistakenly clear the space. I watch patiently as a few at the bar downed their drinks and cashed out - the bar was cleaned and we were motioned to the two vacant stools. Our friendly bartender greeted us with a big smile and an invitation for something cold and refreshing, I chose a beer that's dear to my heart and one that I became a fan of after my first sip years ago in Scotland at a small hotel bar in Edinburg - Smithwicks Red Ale this a great beer with a interesting history when served ice cold it's irresistible, we also ordered a hand crafted margarita that was served on the rocks and delicious. The menu is as exquisite as the namesake on the front of the building, yeah they have the bangers and mash you'd expect but the oysters are what distracted me - we started with a dozen char-grilled my expectations were sublime even though this is a dish I'd probably never order in a pub. They arrived on a tray that could hold a few dozen more easily and after the first one I completely understood why, these are absolutely one of the many signature dishes coming out of the kitchen and had me wishing I had ordered more but I knew there was more food and beers to come. We chose to share a few entrees, one out of shear curiosity after a sneak peak from a neighboring plate, Sliders which was constructed with the freshest wagyu beef, gouda cheese, bacon and fresh jalapeños served with house made chips knowing there were bottles of malt vinegar near by, this would definitely be a good choice for any burger fan, the other was more traditional - Shepard's Pie with lamb and pork served in a cast iron skillet hot from the oven, honestly this dish is so outside my comfort zone but I did it anyways and what a delicious creation I'm not sure I could return and not order it again. We had such a great meal. Stopped in while driving through Crystal River. We stopped because of the great rating, the fact that we love Irish pubs and because my husband's name is Kelley. The food, service and atmosphere didn't disappoint. Everything was great. Don't let the road construction and the fact that it is in a strip mall scare you away. It is worth a visit.
