In spite of the reviews, I decided to try my luck. Had to come into town. Went to the cleaners and there was a sign at the door that you had to text if you want to drop something off because you need to make an appointment. Seriously?! An appointment seriously? Then there was no response. I don't know how you stay in business doing business this way, but Durango is in dire need of a decent dry cleaner. I rarely IF ever post but when I was in this store the last time to pick up my clothes only to find out they were ruined I was astonished as the other two customers in the store at the same time ALSO had negative experiences. If you happen to be a current customer you too will eventually realize when, not if, this store does not follow your directions and your clothes are ruined or returned still dirty OR damaged OR given to someone else that you are alone because the owners will not do anything to accept blame or accept responsibility. After reading several reviews I was hesitant to go to Kelly's but I can report I had a very positive experience. I had a two piece suit that needed dry cleaned and I dropped it off on Monday, got a quote on the cost and we had it back on Friday for the agreed upon price. Communication was excellent from the first text thanking us for our business to the final text informing us our clothing was ready. Easy in and out on 32nd. I've had clothes dry cleaned for decades, all across the US. On occasion, I've sent something back bec it picked up new stains on the first cleaning attempt. Never have I encountered such a rude person as the woman at Kelly's. My wool sweater came back with two new stains but the woman at Kelly's yelled at me, accused me of taking too long to return it (no more than 5 days after pickup), said I probably wore it and stained it myself. She agreed to try to get the stains out at an additional charge. She was one of rudest customer service people I've ever encountered in my long life. My husband warned me that she had a harsh personality. This was way beyond harsh or abrupt. She was an absolute b*tch and there was no call for that behavior. So your clothes may come back dirtier than you sent them, you'll be falsely accused of lying when you report it, and you'll have to pay to fix their damage to your precious garment. read more

This business is OVERPRICED and UNETHICAL. STAY AWAY!!!! We recently went into Kelly's to have our beddie laundered. The beddie is a combination comforter, and lower fitted sheet - sort of like a fitted sleeping bag for a bed. It also includes two pillow sham covers. We live in our motor home. Most of the time we launder our beddie in the laundry room at the camp ground. However, every once in while we take the beddie into a laundry mat just for the sake of convenience. Whenever we've done this, the price to launder the beddie is $35-$40. So, in Durango, we decided to take the beddie into Kelly's. When we took it in, we were very clear that we only wanted the beddie laundered and not dry cleaned. So, that's what they did. After Kelly's called and told me the beddie was ready, I went in to pick it up. The then proceeded to charge me $130 ...... almost $100 more than we've ever paid before. Upon receiving the bill, I gulped hard and handed over my credit card. Then, after arriving home, my wife confirmed my suspicions and told me that we had vastly overpaid. So, I called Kelly's. Twice. Both times the phone rang and nobody answered. Apparently, they do not have an answering machine. However, less than two minutes after my second attempt, I received a call back. I explained why I called and my belief that the $130 charge for laundering the beddie was excessive. The gentleman told me that he had called because I had inadvertently been overcharged. He then asked me to come is so that he could refund $100 of the cost in cash. So, I drove back to Kelly's to receive my refund. When I arrived, the gentleman who had called, asked me for my receipt. I gave it to him. He then looked at the receipt and proceeded to explain that we had been charged correctly. When I pointed out that the beddie had been laundered rather than dry cleaned, and that he had just called and told me to come in for a refund, the gentleman kindly informed me he that the price was the price and that laundering cost the same as dry cleaning. I waa particularly miffed about the situation because he knew precisely what had been laundered when we talked on the phone - both because I told him over the phone and because he had a record of what had been laundered. So, after having been overcharged, lied to, and jerked around, I left, determined to let potential customers know how this business operates. Again, this business is both OVERPRICED and UNETHICAL. I rarely give reviews but this dry cleaners so outrageously expensive I had to make note of it. Since when does a dry cleaners charge $48.00 to clean a knee length wool coat? Or for that matter $24.00 for a small throw. I was curious just how out of line the pricing was that I called two other dry cleaners to ask what the cost would be for the identical items. $20 for the coat and $15 for the throw. Which is pretty much what I expected give or take a few dollars. Being new to the area I was looking for a good dry cleaner so opted to use this one. The clerks knowing that as I wasn't in the system should have given her the indication I was a new customer. She should have let me know what this cost was going to be BEFORE I handed over the items. Or even have required I pay for the cleaning in advance. I would have not spent a whopping $75.00 for these two items to be dry cleaned if I had known. I actually asked why it was so expensive and was told it was because the coat was wool. Wool, really? What a ridiculous response. The actual cleaning btw wasn't bad, it was what anyone would expect from a dry cleaners. This all said, I can't justify ever going back to this business at those outrageous prices. Worse than that, the customer service was unacceptable on many levels. Beware folks....by the way this is the same as the Kelly Green dry cleaners! read more

If I could give this place negative stars, I would. And, what's that saying, "Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me." I should have known that after the first time of having closed cleaned and paying an arm and a leg with one clothing item not even cleaned that well, I shouldn't have been back. But, the convenience of having something close at PJ's Market had me trying again. My roommate dropped off several pieces of ours and were given a pretty standard week timeline. We understand that the clothes go to the Farmington location for cleaning, so a week turnaround wasn't unexpected. On the day the clothes were to be picked up, my friend showed up within business hours only to essentially be turned away because they decided to close early. I mean, the staff person was there and could have easily accommodated. The place wasn't locked up, and again, my friend was there within their normal business hours. She returned the next day to learn that they had apparently lost our clothes. Keep in mind that it's about a 30-minute round trip to/from the cleaners and our house. She's now made this trip three times. We later learned that they found our items but that one dress hadn't yet been cleaned. We're also talking being past the one-week turnaround at this point. We were finally able to get our clothes this week, to the total of almost $50! So, despite all the runaround and mistakes, they weren't remotely inclined to give us some sort of discount for all the trouble. After my friend had some things to say, the owner offered only 10% off the bill. What an insult. Don't waste your time or your money here -- because, assuredly, they like to steal both. read more

I wish that I had seen these reviews before I wasted so much money and time at this place. We have used them on 3 occasions and only because we live so far out that it seemed easier to drive 20-minutes (one way) than to go all the way into town. They have two locations - Farmington and Durango. I went to Durango. My saga is below. The first two occasions was ok, but not great. They are about $9.60 (with tax) per item, which is a lot anyway, but they don't clean the clothes well at all. The third time I went to them because the items I had I really wanted to get them done and back quickly. Wrong place to go. I dropped 5 pieces off on Oct 9 and was told they would be ready on Oct 17. I showed up at 5p (they close at 6) on Oct 17 and was told they had already closed. I returned on Oct 18 to learn my clothes were lost. Both 40 minute trips were made specifically for the clothes. Later on Oct 18th, I received a call stating they found the clothes, but one dress was still not done. At that time I stated that I expect a discount for my troubles. Today, Oct 22, I received a call that the clothes are ready and I asked if the total ($48.61) I was given was with the discount. It was relayed that there was no discount. After waiting for the employee to call the owner, I was told I would get a 10% discount. My entire negative experience was needless and uncalled for. I will not support this type of horrible customer service and lack of dedication to the community. read more

Called around a few months ago to see if I could get my silk dress in that had a stain. They said if I paid the expedite price that they could do it. I needed it by the weekend and it was Tuesday. They said it would be done on a Friday. I called Friday and they said they couldn't get it done until Monday. Well I had a wedding so I ended up having to buy a new dress. Go to pick my dress up and they said they got the stain out. I never opened it because I didn't need it anymore. 3 months later I have another wedding and wanted to wear it. So I try it on and the huge stain was still there. I figured it was already ruined so why not try to clean it myself. Used dawn dish soap and laundry detergent and the stain came right out. And the dye in my dress had bled so I don't think they even tried to wash my dress or even try to get the stain out. Will never use them again. The dog was adorable though. read more

Not only did they misplace one of my articles, they sent home someone else's article and gave me no way of resolving the issue! Completely unacceptable customer service. Kelly's is definitely open so don't know why people are saying they're not! They are the best drycleaners in Durango - personable, attentive, quick, and efficient. My clothes always come back in great condition. I've tried the other game in town for several years and made a switch. Glad I did! read more
