Came here for laundry and a shower. This place is quite expensive, $7 for one load. There was a sign on the shower door saying "bathrooms closed, call for shower" so I call the number and the guy tells me the code for a lock box with a key in it for the shower. I put the code in for the box so I wouldn't forget it and left for less than five minutes to grab my shower stuff. When I came back the code was different so I went to put the code in again and out popped a key attached to a wire. Well apparently some guy went in there to shower in the short time I left to get my stuff and started yelling at me from inside the bathroom. There were two showers but the wire was just barely long enough to unlock the first one and couldn't reach the other shower. So I waited 30 minutes and the guy finally came out and when I went in there to shower the floor was muddy and it smelled awful like he had smoked in there. Decided after everything not to shower since it was so gross and also cost money. Not coming back. read more

Giving them 3 stars instead of 2 because of the showers. However I spent $28 for 2 loads of laundry & a 7 minute shower. I've traveled across the country & this is the most expensive laundromat I've ever been to. $4.50/$5 for a small load. $7 for a large load. Even that wouldn't have garnered 3 stars from me. BUT the dryers suck!!! I've been drying 2 very thin blankets for an hour and they're still damp. Same with a 1/2 small load of light cotton clothes. .25 for 5 minutes of drier time would be ok if drying on high didn't take an hour + Shower water was very hot, which is great. Water pressure however... low to medium. The restroom/shower I used was dirty with toothpaste on the sink & hair covering the floor. But maybe all that was from 1 sloppy person before me. I would give this SIX stars if I could. I had to do a small load of ski wear from an extended ski bum trip. This place had such an amazing feel to it and you can tell that the owners care greatly about the quality and there is great effort involved in the management of this business. True pride of ownership over profit alone. Profit is important, but shouldn't be the only basis for running a business. I take this same approach with my business as well. Art on the walls. Clean areas and detailed signs that help you if you need info. And above all a shower. I cannot believe there was a shower here. I didn't need this, but WOW was it clean and in great condition as well as the bathroom. It blew me away and is such a bonus for true road warriors that do not want to have to always check in an expensive motel. I saw cameras everywhere so to give this establishment bad reviews due to zombies hanging around is not fair. I mean you can only do so much. The rest is up to law enforcement to be checking for this stuff. They do charge a bit more, but I will pay every time for a place of this caliber. Just like toll roads. I was traveling and needed to do laundry. A local resident recommended North Main Laundry. The owners were on site, cleaning and keeping the equipment running. The prices were average. I put money in for a Diet Coke and the machine ate it. The owner immediately fixed the machine, got my drink, and gave me my money back. Superior customer service. read more

We use laundromats all over the southwest. The dryers here are the worst we have ever used. We are $10 in and our clothes are still damp. At this rate it will be another $10 to get them almost dry. What a rip off. We tried dryers A-H. Only F worked properly. We also tried one of the old school yellow dryers and it was no better, with less time. $40 to do 4 loads. read more

This laundry mat has been brought back to life from a very dark place in HELL! You would have had to been in there when it was the worst place to shower and do laundry. Now, it's the cleanest and coolest. It has class in fact it has more character than any laundry mat I have ever been to. The machines are being replaced with new ones and it's SO CLEAN!! The owner Iis way frickin cool. When I had issues with one of the old machines taking my money , he came within 20 min. To give me a refund. Yes, you can actually get results from the number that is posted, unlike other establishments. It costs $3 to wash, and $0.25 for 5 minutes of drying. The machines are large and efficient and the place is very clean - we were there at closing when the guy in charge of cleaning came in. He was very friendly and visited with us as our loads were finishing - a great source of the best things to do in Durango and the best restaurants. There are change machines that take 1s, 5s, 10s or 20s as well as vending machines for single-use detergent and static sheets. These are $1 each. There are soda and snack vending machines and a couple of (old) video games. The place also has public bathrooms as well as for-pay showers. I believe the showers are $4.25 for 6 minutes. read more

If you like to do laundry at a place with a bullet hole in the window, junkies constantly in and out of the bathrooms getting high, Dirty unmaintained Machines that mess up your laundry With little to no regard from the owner (who drives a Jaguar yet refuses to update this laundromat and the one in town plaza) then this is The place for you! On more than one occasion I Have felt unsafe As a woman there alone at with groups of drunk and homeless people coming in and out of the building. The only reason I continued to use this establishment is because it's by far the closest place to my house yet after 3pairs of new massage sheets received stains on them from the dryer with no help from management I AM DONE! I'll be driving across town to the clean well-maintained laundromat off of College Avenue. We were camping in the area and came to do laundry here mostly because of its location. Beware. Other reviewers stated it was nice because there were employees on site. There were no employees on site while we were there, nor did they answer the phone number posted, nor return our call. There were homeless people and customers with mental health issues. We should have paid attention to what the other regular customers were doing - loading a washing machine, going out to their cars, coming back in to load the dryer, going out to the car, coming in to retrieve their laundry. While we were doing laundry, there was a psychotic woman screaming at customers which escalated to violence. There was a sign that said 'surveillance camera in use,' but it apparently doesn't function well - the police were not able to capture any of the relevant video so don't get too comfortable thinking 'there are cameras everywhere' as 'BP.' stated in their review. I didn't think the bathroom was in good shape either. It's simply not as safe as it used to be in this part of Durango, and the North Main Laundry should take greater action to ensure their customers' safety. We drove the extra distance to the Florida laundry the next time. At least we felt we were in a safe neighborhood. read more

Our go-to place to do laundry when in the area. Really enjoy the fact that the establishment also has showers. Being roadtrippers, we're always looking for places with both - wash up and clean clothes at the same time. Not sure what the comment from another patron is about junkies and homeless, we've been here several times and have never had a problem with the people we run into here. $4.75 for 6 min shower. $3 for top load washer. 25c for every 5 min on the dryers. read more

The laundromat was clean, convenient and seemed well-maintained, but I am giving it 5 stars because of the unbelievable service. I stopped there while travelling through Durango after a river trip and did several loads. I was going back and forth to my trailer to lay some things out to dry, and somehow managed to leave some items behind in a dryer. I did not realize it until I was hours away, and figured I would never see some of my main outdoor clothes again. I called, reached Clark, who said he would go over right away and check. He found them, boxed them up, and sent them to the next stop on my trip. Unbelievable. And so far has not accepted the payment I sent. Restores your faith in humanity and I will never do laundry anywhere else in Durango. read more

Staying at a short term condo without laundry so used this place during Covid. It seemed clean and relatively empty and the sign on the door said to wear a mask. However, while I was there on a Tuesday morning, at least 5 people came in, wasted, super dirty, with no masks and just hung out in there. Not worth the risk. I'll find another spot. read more

Traveling through Durango I used yelp to find this place. Very clean and organized but the real gem is the owner operator Dick. I had a problem with the change machine running out of quarters and givng me $10 instead of the $20 i put in. I found Dick outside weedeating the outside (which is spotless) and dropped what he was doing to get me my $10. But the amazing thing was how he helped out a person who tried to wash a sleeping bag in a top loader. He took it out after a failed wash and put in a triple front loader and washed it on his own dime. read more

Clean establishment, owner was very nice. Washing machines were fast and laundry came out clean showing that they are well maintained. Dryers were nice and hot and dried clothing quickly. Got out of there lickety-split! Their policy is to keep bathrooms locked until management is present due to vandalism-which is understandable. It's a bummer that some disturbed folks have to ruin it for others. All around a pleasant experience while I was waiting for my washer and dryer to be delivered into my new home. read more

Out of all the Laundromats I've used over the years, this one tops them all! Not only is it the cleanest laundromat inside, but also outside. As well the owner, Dick is there to help with anything you need. Personally I was waiting to move into my new home. Me and my dog were camping in the interim. I went there because I heard there were showers and I really needed one. I was a little hesitant about using a shower in a laundromat, but was delightfully surprised! The showers/bathrooms are spotless! The time on the showers are 6 minutes, however you can add more quarters (30 sec. more for each quarter) at the beginning of the shower for more time. I now drive out of my way to do laundry. He also has a car vacuum outside so you can clean your car while you wait for your clothes. Dick has thought of everything! I've never seen an owner of a laundromat physically on the premises, cleaning, assisting others, and fine tuning his machines! If you want a dependable, safe, clean, efficient, and cost effective place to do your laundry and/or take a shower, this is the place to go! read more
